They provided yummy cookies and brownies for dessert. I received many compliments for the food. They provided two servers to set up and clean up and they did a wonderful job. They were very pleasant, attentive, efficient and unobtrusive. We also had a cake that we bought separately and the staff was more than willing to cut it for us. Jamie was very pleasant to work with and was very patient with all of my questions, requests, and changes. I am looking forward to hosting another event so I can use them again!

Alison, the event manager, not only acts as your caterer but she really does handle the event coordinator role too, and she is very familiar with it, so ladies, you can sit back and relax. Rentals, decorations, food - they handle it ALL so don't bother hiring an event coordinator - trust me, with these guys you don't need one. Budget: The people at Two Chefs really do work with your budget. In fact, they work harder than the typical caterer to be within your budget, whatever it may be. Alison understood me from the get-go and knew straight away what things could be done to lessen the numbers while still being completely honest with me. Actually, I think they ended up making it UNDER-my budget. Tasting: I ended up doing a tasting with Walter (one of the three head chefs) and he was phenomenal, staying with us to joke around and answer any questions we had. When we gave him our opinions on the food (the original chicken we had was a little dry and we weren't fond of the foccacia for a wedding setting), he didn't get upset. Instead, he pondered for a while and recommended a ton of other chicken dishes. That's what I call being a great chef. You don't take things personally, instead you aim to help your client as best you can. The meats at the tasting were all tender and juicy, the salad was extremely fresh (we had a choice of 3!) and the mashed potatoes were silky smooth and left you wanting more. Issues?: There was a slight problem with the linen numbers the day before the wedding and I started to get a panicky, but Steve (another head chef) stepped in and said that he'd take care of it. He even called me a second time to reassure me and tell me not to be worried about a thing. Again, amazing. Day of: Kathy (event coordinator) was a comforting presence at my side at all times to make sure I had everything I needed and to remind me of when I needed to do things. Steve (one of the 3 head chefs) was always there bringing me food so that I would be able to eat. Thank you Steve! What people said?: It was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. One friend said that normally the beef is either way undercooked or really dried out, but this was perfectly cooked beef and he had several helpings. And they were extremely efficient at clearing away plates, the place was spotless! More importantly, you're not a number to them - you become someone they want to get to know personally and to make happy - which is something you really can't pay for. Forget the big expensive caterers who end up costing you a fortune for food and service, Two Chefs works the service cost in so that you can see the final number and they work extra hard to make your wedding (or any event) perfect.

Mix of music was fine for your typical audience, but the MC was completely obnoxious. Our table was next to his, and he and his assts started making snoring noises during the best man's speech. How tasteless. Id give two stars of the place wasn't so expensive. We really did have a great time, but if you're going to put that much money out per plate it better be delicious. and this stuff wasn't even decent. If I had known how terrible the rest of the meal was going to be I would've filled up on the pasta and bread at the beginning!

We cooked, we laughed, we drank, we cooked some more and just had the most amazing dinner. Everything was geared towards what we wanted as far as the menu, the flavors, the amount and type of spices. Everything came out wonderful. Shilpi brought everything and used a few of our pots and serving dishes and while we were eating, cleaned the space so you wouldn't even know someone was there. Spectacular. Not to mention Shilpi and Raghav were very personable and were mingling with our friends while preparing everything. If you are in the market for this type of experience, don't hesitate. All the spices came by mail before the first day of class and it was great fun going through them. That package also included the recipe sheets which I posted on my fridge each week to get ready. Although the spices come by mail, you buy the rest of the ingredients yourself based on the recipe lists. So each week I went shopping for any ingredients I'd need, leaving myself a good amount of time to prep everything I had to before class. Shilpi sends out an email each week suggesting what to prep ahead so planning is easy. All the meals came out great - even the ones I made mistakes on or tweaked a bit were awesome. Shilpi is super helpful about working with any dietary preferences or figuring out what to do if you forgot to buy an ingredient. Watching everyone else online and seeing their creations is half the fun. Best of all, each day we had enough leftovers for a second meal.

Being an overwhelmed mom who totally flaked on getting the catering for her son's baptism I had plenty to cry about. I own a business, and balancing it all- family, work, etc. can seem impossible. Kristen answered my call at 7pm on Tuesday. I apologized for being mid-mental breakdown and for the screaming baby. She actually made him stop crying! After 5 minutes with talking to Kristen, it was clear that she gives her work and her customers her all. I'm so glad my random Google search led me to this business. Fast forward- I couldn't say better things about this business. You can tell everyone puts their heart and soul into every phone call, every order, every item of food. It's so refreshing that there are other businesses that have the same desire for perfection and customer service. Thanks again Kristen and team for saving the day!

Time for a story, everybody…read more I asked a smart, beautiful, funny Yelper to marry me and she said yes. It was an extremely exciting day, and laughter and tears abounded. That exciting day turned into an exciting week, full of phone calls and picture taking and ring flaunting. After that first week, though, the reality set in that we actually needed to hunker down and plan a wedding. Fairies don't magically appear and plan it for you, and there's a lot of legwork to be done to get a giant party off the ground. The initial step was finding the absolute perfect venue. Chester's at Bell Tower Square was the perfect venue. We knew immediately and cut a check on the spot, and then felt a little bad that we would miss out on the joys and heartache of traveling around New England for two months looking for the perfect venue. Isn't that what wedding planning is all about? Stressing out over where to have it and what money to put down and all that? To find the place we knew we'd be getting married in after the first weekend just shouldn't be. Yet, apparently, it was. How could we go anywhere else? With nearly 5,000 square feet of exposed brick, natural light and hardwood floors, where else could we find that would give us the hip industrial vibe we were looking for? How could we say no to the gorgeous courtyard, or the attached art gallery? I'm not sure I'd have been able to live with myself if I walked away from a venue that I could have access to for the Friday and the Saturday of my weekend weekend. After spending an hour with the event coordinator (Elizabeth), my fiance and I had no choice but to call off our search after a grand total of seven days of searching. If you are getting married and want to have it in a huge, unique, gorgeous, historic space, look at Chester's last. If not, your venue search is going to be very, very fast.

It is surprising to me to see all the positive reviews for this venue and the event coordinator…read more Perhaps we caught them on an "off" two days, but I have never witnessed the lack of professionalism we received as a wedding party-- ever, in my life. From the rehearsal dinner to the event itself, we were treated with such arrogance and hostility that I was livid by the end of the night, and it wasn't even my wedding. From the beginning the whole thing was...wrong. We were not lined up in proper order for the processional, but when we pointed it out it was ignored. We were told it would be corrected by the ceremony, but it wasn't. We went out backwards and were not matched up with our proper partners. The lights were not dimmed for the ceremony. We asked that the lights be dimmed but were told no, because the photographer needed to be able to see us (which of course is not true). They were not dimmed until during the meal, and only because another bridesmaid had to demand it. We were told we had to have the lights on all the way so that the waitstaff could get us our food-- even though it was buffet- styled. The seating was completely ignored-- guests were told to sit where ever they wanted, resulting in completely useless place cards and seating arrangements. Every time someone mentioned anything that was amiss-- from the bartender being completely rude to the timing of the ceremony, which was almost an hour off-- we were spoken down to like children. The night was saved only by the fact that we actually knew what we were doing as a wedding party, dealt with the problems ourselves and waited until the dancing started, which was when any hand the event coordinator had in organizing anything was complete. I feel badly, because my friend was completely stressed during one of the happiest events of her life. I would never book an event with Elizabeth or at Chester's Bell Tower. Of course every ceremony has its flaws, but when no one seems to care, or worse-- can not admit they're wrong and try to fix what isn't working-- it is time to re-evaluate your career choices.
