This was our second time using Coleman Catering, and they did not disappoint! I obtained three quotes for our company holiday party, and Coleman was selected due to the menu options (we had Apple BBQ Baby Pork Loin, Garlic-Herb Steak Tips, Boneless Chicken Breast (lemon-herb), mashed potatoes and maple butter dinner rolls) and the price for this menu was less than another caterer offering turkey and ham, so this seemed more festive for our holiday luncheon. As a bonus, everything but the dinner rolls were safe for a gluten-intolerant employee! The food was delivered a little earlier than planned, which was great, giving us a bit more time to get everything set up, and the delivery person was friendly and very helpful in setting things up. Ordered pick-up catering for a larger event than I am used to planning, and the owner/chef, Josiah, was kind enough to field my (several) questions regarding the correct amount of food, allergen safety, and appropriate food options for the event. When I arrived the day of the event to pick up my order, everything was packed in a way that was easy for me to transport, gluten and dairy free items were clearly labeled, hot items were piping, cold items were chilled, and when it came to the taste and presentation? Excellence. I called five other different catering companies in the greater Lowell area for info and quotes for this event, but Coleman came out on top with their clearly defined prices, pleasant service, and ability to help me out in keeping a crowd of people fed without having to worry about whether or not they would be allergic to something served. I have no personal dietary needs but having family that does, I know how sub-par in taste and texture GF and DF foods can be, but everything Coleman made was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and made with care. There were very, very few leftovers. :) Having never dealt with a catering company for a mid-size event that was being thrown for someone else, my anxiety for making sure everything was perfect was quite high, but dealing with Coleman was such a pleasant experience that it made things very easy despite the pressure. 10/10. read more

We used Coleman Catering for an intimate birthday gathering for someone very special. We picked a variety of sandwiches from the classic sandwich option and we ordered a mixture of vegetarian, chicken and turkey sandwiches which were delicious! It came with amazing homemade chips, salad, brownies and cookies. In addition we ordered mini fruit kabobs which were fresh and a great addition with the sandwiches. Coleman Catering catered the cocktail hour of our May wedding on the Cape. They delivered absolutely amazing food to our venue. We had hired another service company to work with us before we found Josiah and in retrospect we wish we had gone with him for the full service catering. Everyone absolutely loved the food and menu he helped us to create. Not to mention we had a few vegan guests and he helped us create items that would work for them, too. Short Summary: Josiah's food and service are amazing. His culinary skills are only exceeded by his professionalism and compassion. Longer story: When my wife's father passed away, we chose Coleman Catering for the after service get together at the church. It was obviously a very tough time for us, and Josiah handled it with absolute grace and aplomb. Things changed a bit along the way, and he made himself completely available to us to talk over the menu and help us make decisions. He helped us better tweak the menu to serve our guests - it's a good thing too - had we just went ahead we would have had WAY too much left over. During the service, I had many people come up and mention how good the food was. When I went to go point him out to a few people, I realized that he had dropped the food off, made sure we were ok, and then snuck out, thus giving us our family time - not wanting to make that night about anything other than my father-in-law. Was just so impressed with how he handled everything. I've glossed over the food a bit, but the food is fantastic. People were fighting to take some of the food home - his wings in particular. The lemonade he made was fantastic, as were the salads / salad dressings. The presentation on everything was top-notch. Everything that's served is served with 'purpose'. I don't think I could speak highly enough about working with Josiah and Coleman Catering! We called Coleman up last minute when we needed food for 25 people for a production. Josiah dealt with me asking a tremendous amount of questions, went over the menu with me a few times, and allowed me the flexibility to check in with my producers and call him back with the final order. We were calling less than 24 hours in advance so I knew there might be a limit to what we could order but Coleman Catering had a large array of options of dishes we could choose from in a short amount of time. Josiah talked through dietary restrictions with me that some of our crew had, and recommended dishes he thought would go well together. Since I don't have enough experience ordering for large groups I was worried we hadn't ordered enough. Josiah ensured me we had and that he had never had complaints about the amount of food ordered and he was right! The amount felt just right, with some leftover. Our production LOVED the food. It was hot, filling, seasoned/cooked very well, and varied. We ordered steak tips, chicken tips, roasted veggies (only thing that surprised me because I thought it was a platter and not cut up, but it was still delicious), veggie rice pilaf, salad, roasted potatoes. Cookies for dessert were a HIT. I would absolutely recommend using Coleman Catering in the capacity that I did, for a large family style meal for a big group of people. Used many times for lunches down in Burlington MA. Food is always fabulous. Sandwiches, tacos, Chinese was all great. But my favorite is the BBQ. Highly recommend the ribs, the pulled pork, chicken, kebabs and also all the awesome salads and deserts! Loved the clam chowder too! We used them to cater a bridal shower this past weekend. Terrible communication! Every email took days for them to respond. They did have the food ready to pick up on time but we would have been better off doing it ourselves! The presentation was not that great, we replated everything. We requested red and black icing on the cake and they used brown. The worst was that we had to throw out and replace most of the fruit and crackers! The strawberries used for garnishing was better than what they used on our fruit skewers. They were covered in dirt and cut so long ago they were turning color! On our cheese and cracker platter, the crackers were left next to the cheese unprotected so they got soggy and were not servable. The food did taste alright but it was not worth the money! We had a wedding rehearsal/pre-wedding social for our son and soon to be daughter in law in our home. He is our only child and serving in the military so this was without question the most important social event we have ever hosted. We decided to have it catered which is the first time ever as we have always prepared the food ourselves when entertaining. We put out the word we were looking for a top notch outfit and so a trusted friend recommended Coleman. We went to their restaurant on a Saturday morning in Groton (impressive place) and met with Josiah to kick around some ideas. We planned on about 35 people but as it would be Friday night and most of the younger crowd would be coming from work we knew this would be a hungry crowd. We decided to go with high end appetizers and not to skimp on anything. The food was outstanding. Whats sort of ironic is that the better the food the more your guests will eat. It's human nature. As we had ordered heavy we planned on having a pretty good amount of leftovers for the next day. Didn't happen. We had at least 35 people and every one went for several servings. A group of friends (4 couples plus a few singles ) ,we take turns hosting for dinner every few months. With Covid and all, we had suspended it for a while. I contacted Josiah months ago about a graduation party for my wife and sister in law. He was prompt with his responses and accommodated all our requests with plenty of suggestions along the way. This made it so easy for us. The customer service was off the charts but the food and presentation was even better. We had a group of 65 and a few more showed up. There was a lot of time spent at the buffet table as witnessed by very few getting on the dance floor. The appetizer cheese and crackers were my favorite with the assortment of different cheeses. The sliders lasted only a few minutes and the chimichurri steak was so tender that I wanted to hide the tray. My wife and daughter wanted a life time supply of the cookies we had and it just seemed like we could have asked for more. He catered my husband's 80th birthday party at an assisted living facility yesterday and my only regret is that he didn't give me business cards to hand out. I had a production project going on in Devens MA, and found Coleman Catering on YELP, after reading some of their reviews. I can't express how happy i did! I wound up working closely with Josiah prior to the event. My order needed to have things added, delivery times switched etc. He was incredible. Everything turned out perfectly from a planning standpoint. Now let's talk about the food. When i say that i catered for approximately 30 people and plates were swept clean, i am not kidding. People were raving and with good reason. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, wonderfully diverse to please varied pallets and overall DELICIOUS!!! We ordered many things such as a varied array of egg sandwiches for breakfast (excellent) beef sliders, BBQ chicken sliders, custom sandwiches and pizza, mozzarella and tomato skewers, and the list goes on. I used Coleman Catering this past Sunday for my daughter's day-after wedding brunch for 100+ people, held in a pavilion at NARA Park in Acton, MA. I have only the highest compliments and rave reviews for everything about the company; I used the drop-off service with a fairly extensive menu including fruit kabobs, fruit/yogurt parfaits, lox and bagels, muffins and scones, two kinds of breakfast sandwiches (GONE in a flash -- soooo good!), fresh O.J., coffee/tea/water. The food was delicious, prepared and packaged well, came with disposable warming trays for the sandwiches, ice trays for the yogurt and fruit, hot beverages were hot and cold ones were cold, breads nicely served on large plastic platters -- the whole event was wonderful and worry-free for me. Josiah was extremely accommodating and endlessly helpful to me in terms of figuring out amounts with an ever-changing guest list; he arrived and set up everything efficiently and attractively, which left me free to enjoy the event and visit with my guests.
