Condesa checked all the boxes and then some~ Inside/Outside - 5/5 Condesa has a super cool and hip vibe. The space felt energetic without being overwhelming, and the music added to the atmosphere without forcing everyone to yell across the table. It's the kind of place that feels equally suited for date night, happy hour, or a night out with friends. The outside was decent, but a nice offering that had a big door open with the cooler weather. But the inside was the place to be. Fortunately we just had to walk over but there were plenty of street parking on this Thursday night. Customer Service - 5/5 The customer service was gr10. Managing a table of eight can sometimes be a challenge, but the staff made it look easy easily switching between folks. Drinks stayed full, food arrived promptly, and someone was always checking in to see if we needed anything. What stood out most was how attentive everyone was without being intrusive. Good peoples all around. And pretty funny~ Food & Dranks - 5/5 Our table went full tapas mode and ordered a little bit of everything. For starters, we shared the chips and salsa, chips & guacamole, cheesy bean dip, elote, and cucumber ensalada. The entire spread disappeared quickly, which is usually a good sign. The cheesy bean dip and elote were particular crowd favorites. And they had those Mexican wheel chips that I would get from ice cream trucks growing up. What a nice surprise. For my main meal, I ordered the Taco Al Pastor and the Apson. Both were packed with flavor and left me wishing I had just a little more room to keep eating. The cocktails were equally impressive. The Salsa Verde was unique, refreshing, with a hint of spicy savor and unlike anything I've had before. The Blue Agave was smooth, balanced, and easy to sip throughout the evening - but of course I finished it quite fast. By the end of the night, nobody at our table was disappointed, and that's saying something when you've got eight people ordering different things! TL;DR - Overall: 5/5 - Great spot for post-conference food and drinks - Cool, trendy atmosphere with good music - Attentive service that handled our group of eight with ease - Tapas highlights: cheesy bean dip and elote - Taco Al Pastor and Apson were both delicious with home-made corn tortillas! - Salsa Verde and Blue Agave cocktails were refreshing winners during this hot conference - Good vibes, good peoples, happy tummies - Would absolutely come back next time I'm in Phoenix

On my first visit, they needed their third wheel to cover the bill. From the time we walked in and spoke to the hostess and to finishing up our meal. They really knock you out with great service! The food was excellent too! I had a Chili Verde Omelette which was great. The downside, I was really hungry and did not take any pics of our food or the restaurant. On my next visit, I will snap some pics. I never went to the original place, but the owner was proud of the new space and the ample amount of space compared to the original spot. He also mentioned that he still has the original spot and open it on the weekends with bar food and drinks. As a very big man, I felt comfortable in their booths and it has a great vibe to it.

Post-concert cocktails? Don't mind if we do. Yeah, we were upside down and moving in slow motion. That and we were waiting for the after-concert Uber surge pricing to lower and what better way than with carajillos and French 75s? And wow, what an AMAZING carajillo they make here. The citrus at the top and the robust coffee at the back was such a balanced sip. And if you think have espresso at 11PM is reckless, you may be right, but I was still able to pass out when I got home. What a great cocktail lounge. I waited about 12 minutes to be seated, even though no one was ahead of me, while two people who arrived after me were seated first. Once at my table, my server walked past me three times without acknowledgment; it took nearly 8 minutes to get water. When my food came out, I noticed my white toast had been swapped for some odd-looking wheat bread with no explanation. I only found out they didn't carry white toast by asking. No manager stopped by, and communication from the front-of-house staff was nearly nonexistent from start to finish. The one bright spot was that the food itself was genuinely good. Visit 2 (Next Day): A completely different experience. The restaurant was actually busier, yet the hostess was immediately attentive and got me seated without delay. My server, Josh, came right over, was personable, and proactively let me know they don't carry white toast, offering sourdough as an alternative without me having to ask. I also had the chance to chat with Erin, the banquet manager, who brought a warm and welcoming energy to the floor. That kind of manager presence was completely absent on day one and made a noticeable difference. Bottom line: The kitchen is solid, both visits confirmed that. But the guest experience here can vary wildly depending on who's working. When the team is on, this place shines. Here's hoping Visit 2 is the new standard.

Lots of seating, lots of light. I ended up getting eggs, toast and bacon instead of a burrito. Dare I say that this might be the BEST bacon I've ever had? Seriously, the flavor was popping, every bite consistently delicious and no soggy, fatty pieces which I often find elsewhere. Hangover or not, I'm coming back to Ingo's for that bacon next time I'm in the area.

So street parking, a garage, or surface lot is your best bet. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is where Hanny's shines. It's a large bar and restaurant with elegance. I've sat at both a table and at the bar. Here are two of the things Hanny's is known for: (1) the little room by the elevator which makes for a popular photo opp and (2) the dolls in the basement... talk about creepy and cool. Service (3.5/5): Service has been about average on both visits. Friendly, somewhat attentive, and somewhat efficient. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about either. Drinks (4/5): Hanny's has a nice cocktail list, plus a full bar. I had the Bee's Knees (a classic cocktail I hadn't had in a while) which was made well. Food (2.5/5): I had the grilled chicken pesto flatbread pizza which is served with a pesto base, grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, and tomatoes. I'm a big fan of pizza and this one was sub-par. I appreciated the creativity but the execution wasn't there. The chicken was a bit dry, I prefer a thicker crust, and the portion size, while filling, just didn't deliver. More of a drinks place in my mind.

I made a reservation for a Saturday evening for the outdoor music performance. When I arrived, I was seated inside the restaurant. It was probably my mistake for not correcting them, but I thought it was odd that they specifically have you make reservations for the outdoor tables where the performance would be but not sit you there. I ordered a cocktail and got the Chef's Journey which is a pre-fixe 3-course menu. You get to choose an appetizer and an entree. For dessert, you automatically get the pound cake. For my appetizer, I went with the salad. It consisted of hearts of palm, strawberries, cashews, and honey over greens. For my entree, I went with the Dayboat Moqueca which consisted of fish (salmon) over rice grits with broccolini and pickled onions. When it was time for dessert, I was asked what I wanted for dessert. I was confused about why they were asking because I thought there was only one option, but the server made it seem like I had a choice despite me ordering the Chef's Journey. Due to that, I ordered the dessert option that didn't come with the pre-fixe menu. Luckily, the check was brought to me before I got dessert because I was charged for that dessert and had to clear it up. Needless to say, I ended up with the pound cake that I originally was supposed to get. With that being said, I enjoyed my food and the staff were nice. I liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. There were just some hiccups in the experience. When I go back to Phoenix, I would return and give it another shot.
