The coffee is weak and watered down. Cafe con leche is supposed to have strong espresso in it like in Spain. Pastries were good.

We were in Bishop at Erick Schat's Bakery having breakfast. We order the usual pastry items and…read morecoffee. Not expecting too much from the coffee in one of the remote regions of California, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the coffee was. I asked the bakery staff if they made their coffee and was informed that it was made locally in Bridgeport and delivered fresh weekly to them. I have drank coffee from all around the world, nothing beats local fresh roasted coffee made with TLC. You can taste the difference when it is made fresh, than something that have sat on the market shelf for months. I was able to track down the company that made their coffee, it is made locally in a tiny small town in the Sierras, the higher altitude does something to the coffee. Even brewing coffee in higher evevation, you have to tweak the process, so roasting at the higher elevation changes the taste as well. The depth of taste in the coffee was what I noticed with my first sip and the weight of the taste in the tongue. It was not too heavy, but very aromatic and no after taste. After I got home, I researched and found that they operate an online shop. I ordered some coffee, the coffee arrived very fast, and was packaged well. I made my normal brew and it was even better than when I had it in Bishop. Great find at Erick Schat's, which lead me to finding this local roster. Overall, very high quality locally roasted coffee from the high mountains in the Sierras.

Stop by on the way to lake Tahoe and ordered rotisserie chicken and half slab of ribs…read more Ribs are good but rotisserie chicken is a MUST!! So tender and moist. Sides are good, cilantro like rice and ranch bean are good complement. Ended up stopping by on the way back and only had the whole rotisserie. So good. Will be our stopping ground if we go up to Lake Tahoe again.

The bakery has so many different breads, cookies, pastries and more. The problem with the bakery is that there are no price tags. It was a no brainer to try his restaurant. Menu is fairly wide ranging - burgers to steak to salads and more. Limited options for vegetarians. The food was slightly above average and prices were reasonable. We didn't expect foodie quality eats here. You place an order at the counter and food is brought to you. Service was pretty much non existent. Food Review: Rotisserie Chicken Half ($17.95) is one of their signature dishes and comes with 2 large sides. We choose lime cilantro rice and black beans. The chicken was average, slightly overcooked and included a tortilla and pico pico. 7.5/10 Broccoli Side ($1.95) was huge portion of perfectly healthy broccoli. 9/10 Garden Salad ($10.95) is pretty average but of large size. 7.5/10 Overall - Good Food - Good Decor - Good Service - Good Value - Excellent Would we return? - Maybe
