We walked in on a rainy Friday night without a reservation and although there weren't any tables available we were seated promptly at the bar. Servers were super friendly and translated the menu into English for us since there wasn't one in print. A really interesting take on sushi - the Peruvian style included various herbs and condiments while the Japanese style was plain. Salmon roll was delicious as well. My friend recommended me Indio Kitchen as her favorite restaurant in all of Europe. This place did not disappoint. We only had 15 min before our next engagement but decided to risk it as this was our only chance to pop in. We were waited on by Serena, and at 2pm, the lunch rush was coming to a close. We snagged bar seats and got to watch the chefs skillfully prepared our meal. We were treated to the miso soup with lime and chili, which was so incredible on this cold day. The whole concept of Peruvian/Japanese fusion is SO expertly excited here. The fish was melt in your mouth, and always finished with unexpectedly complimentary flavors. Manchego-salmon-honey???!!!! Believe the hype--this place rules! My husband and I came to Indio Kitchen based on the Yelp reviews. While we love the Nordic/Scandinavian countries we're not so in love with the local cuisine. We usually go for Thai, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Korean while traveling...basically looking for any type of cuisine that will likely flavor/spice food well. The Peruvian and Japanese fusion aspect intrigued us! We split one of the mixed sushi plates and ordered a few beers. (Note: One small sushi plate is not enough for two people--we were going for a light dinner.) While everything was fresh and tasty, the best/most interesting thing we got was one order of a salmon and Manchego sushi roll. It was different than anything I've ever had, and I would return to this place just to get it again! The only downsides worth noting is that the place is kind of small and super hot inside during the summer. It's worth waiting for an outdoor seat! :) read more

Went here with some colleagues who absolutely loved their food. They had ceviche and sushi, and raved about it. As for me, your resident pain in the a** vegan, I had the vegetarian ceviche made of (very crunchy) beets, lime, and cilantro, and a plain avocado cucumber roll. The latter wasn't on the menu but they were super accommodating and made it anyway. I really appreciated that. This wasn't really my style of restaurant - I was just looking for regular vegetarian sushi - but that's more of a result of my personal preference rather than a reflection of the restaurant (hence still 4 stars). The food is pretty fancy and a little bit expensive, but if you check out the menu and like what you see, you'll definitely enjoy your time here. read more

Indio Kitchen was my favorite meal in Sweden. This should be a little disconcerting since the restaurant is Japanese / Peruvian fusion in Scandinavia, but it's also now on my "top sushi dinners of all time" list. I also had sushi 3 times while in Sweden for a week. So there's that. In any case, their sushi was incredible. We came in small appetites, but I wish we had room for more. Between two people, we split a seaweed salad with hijiki, a small set of sashimi, and their 23 piece mixed sushi set. The seaweed salad was really delicious, but their innovative sushi stole the show. The freshness of the fish was outstanding, but each sushi came paired with different flavor combinations and toppings that blended Peruvian and Japanese tastes perfectly. There was a mix of textures, from crispy to melt-in-your-mouth tender; every bite was a surprise and a delight. I can't remember 90% of what we tried, but some standouts included a lightly seared salmon, something with a light pesto, and a super fresh scallop. Don't get basic rolls or sashimi here - head straight for their innovative offerings. If I ever come back, I'm definitely trying their chef's tasting menu! read more

Very good food. By far the best miso I ever tasted. We had an additional bowl with the bill just because it was that good!! We had Tiradito, sushi and edamame on top of the miso. All was top notch. Next time we'll have to try the ceviche. We had a table outside with heating which worked great. We got blankets and the service was very attentive. Definitely worth a follow up visit. read more

Such a rip off - even though friendly staff compensated us with two cokes when we complained about it. The vegetarian rolls were small, and so were the avocado nigris. Thick pieces of salmon, but not very much rice. The sushi was good but not amazing and certainly not worth the price. read more

This is some of the best sushi i have ever had. Period. We came with a big group and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating! The sushi combos were delicious. I loved trying a bunch of different sushi/nigiri. We then went back and ordered more of our favorites. Highlights: Black Miso Scallop - We ordered MANY more. One of the best things I've ever eaten. Seriously. SO GOOD. Tuna with quail egg - Complex interesting, big punch. We had the house roll and another kale roll - all very unique. I have tried sushi in all of the major Scandinavian cities and I must say, Indio Kitchen was my favorite. It is a bit smaller inside but there is a great vibe to the restaurant. The staff was excellent and very accommodating giving recommendations to the different options. There is some Peruvian influence on the sushi platters giving a very unique component and flare to the cuisine. If you do a sampler platter you will no doubt have a roll that you've never tried before. Prices are fair! read more

My wife and I were looking for a sushi restaurant, and came across this gem. The miso might be the best I e ever had, with its hint of lemon. The rolls were delicious almond with the nigiri. The menu is simple but very well done. We are from San Francisco, with lots of great sushi restaurants. I'd put Indio on the list with the best. read more

A surprising find with a unique menu. They were super flexible -- our group got in without a reservation (after missing our reservation at Meatballs for the People the first time, which was way overrated). We got a whole backroom to ourselves. All the food there was excellent, and the waiter (French) was very friendly and helpful, esp. with the wine selection. Small restaurant, but nice decor and atmosphere. You might not think that sushi and Peruvian food go together, but Peru had a Japanese president not long ago; and the cuisines somehow work well together. read more
