The service was great, a slight mishap with ordering though. I had asked for two plain fry breads and accidentally paid for two dessert fry breads with a plain fry bread instead. The bread is so delicious! Its airy and yet has a slight crunch and a great chew! The Huckleberry sauce had a wonderfully texture with seeds (I really like seeds in my sauce) it was also slighty tart with sweetness. I got the meat pie! It was so good! The meat was seasoned and wonderfully juicy! The cheese was melted beautifully and gave perfect cheese oull everytime. The Huckleberry lemonade is mild in flavor with it leaning on the sour side which I like. There was pow wow music playing in the backround which added a nice ambience. The location is great, as it's right next to Gonzaga campus. There was no wait and the dining area was clean. Lots of seating. Ordered the frybread which is exactly what it sounds, fried bread. The man who took our order was friendly and helpful, like most of the people we encountered in Spokane. I ordered a Gatherer rice bowl, which was the vegetarian option, and split the fry bread with huckleberry sauce with my friend. It helped that I was starving, but I was definitely satisfied with my plate! The cashier said their wild rice was really good, and he was right. The bowl had plenty of toppings (lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, etc.) and a choice of black or pinto beans. You can also opt out of toppings you don't like. I visited here for lunch during a recent work trip. It's conveniently located near Gonzaga University, although I did not see very many college students eating there...maybe it was the say I came though. Inside, it's a modern spot with even a small mezannine area for additional seating in the center of the space. Their menu is very small, choose an entree, they only have 2.....the build your own INDIAN TACO and the BURGER. they have a few side items, the soup, wild rice, and tater tots, and one dessert. The dessert is just fry bread with butter and huckleberry sauce. I ordered the NDN taco as it's sometimes called with bison, chili beans, all the toppings and all the salsas. If you've ever had Indian fry bread, this is a pretty standard tasting bread,, the only things I noticed were there was really nothing special about the beans, they seemed canned, and the Buffalo tasted very very similar to ground beef. So I'm not sure if it was worth the extra $2 to get that protein as I'm sure the ground beef was just as good, I'd not better tasting. I also added a fry bread dessert , and a huckleberry lemonade, I guess I like berries a lot. For lunch, it was a little pricy trying a few of their items, at $28. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent. Much better than your typical fast casual restaurant. The one thing I would change if I ever came back was to order the bowl with rice, as it was just too much fry bread when you order the dessert....if dining alone. read more

Cool, funky and totally unexpected! I lived in Spokane for over 10 years and have been gone for more than that now. But I love that this place exists! I have never had indigenous food, and it was delicious and unexpected! I hope this place grows and expands all over the place. I got the Hunter Bowl and forgot to ask for the bread with it, but got it with rice and it was still amazing. Also got the Huckleberry dessert and it was delish! You would think that fry bread would be pretty easy to do, but it's actually pretty hard to do well. And this place does it well. I've had fry bread multiple times this year, at a powwow, at a stall outside of a casino in Arizona, at the fry bread house in Phoenix, and now here. This is the second best fry bread I had. They have a nice bison taco, and they are very generous with their toppings. But this time I tried their powwow Burger, which is a burger patty sandwich between two mini fry breads. It has a huckleberry relish on top, and that is really a fun addition of tart, sweet, and sour. Don't order any other condiments, though, the attendant will give you the side eye. Lol. They serve things up hot and quick, and it's not too crowded. A great alternative to your general fast food place. read more

Had soup missing that they did refund. But no utensils. And half the food spilled over. But they couldn't do anything about it because it was DoorDash fault. My friend and I about this place from different sources and both reached out to see if the other wanted to come and try something new! I'm from the American southwest and haven't had food like this since I moved to Spokane. It's great! When we told the people at the front that we wanted one of everything, they were happy to put these all together in to-go boxes. We tried all of it before taking the rest home to our families. Our favorites were the bison taco, the chicken sandwich, the dessert fry bread, and both of the soups. The location is easy to get to, but parking is a little tricky. Inside is pretty open and a little echo-y, I can imagine it's pretty loud when the place is busy, but it wasn't distractingly loud for the two of us on a Friday night. I was so excited to try out indigenous eats. I heard about it when I first came to Spokane and finally got to try it a month ago. The first thing that stood out was how convenient it was. They fry the fry bread right in front of you and the rest it set up Chipotle-style. The food was delicious and very filling surprisingly. The fry bread tastes like Chinese youtiao, sort of like a savory, airy doughnut type thing. Proportions are perfect and would love to try the other menu options. It is the kind of meal that can get soggy if it saved for the next day, however. I'm happy to hear that they opened a new location downtown....Highly recommend! read more
