Been here twice and will continue to come here! The food is GREAT!!! Big portions and delicious. Found this spot on our first trip to Vancouver. We got the look as if we were sure we were in the right place not in a bad way but as if we were sure that was what we wanted. Every time we have visited there was no wait to get seated in fact the place is almost empty. Just a few people at a time. They are very friendly and feels like family vibes and I love that. Like mom is in the kitchen. Dad got the front door and the boys are bringing in the produce from outside. Service is great and the family is very humble and proud as they should be. Food comes out pretty quick and you can always get a drink to keep you comfortable. I got a glass of Malbec my favorite. Two people two dishes we were reminded that it is a lot of food and would be satisfied. Thankfully! Wife loves butter chicken and I love korma but got the saag my second runner up. Garlic naan and rice... we were full! End of the meal my man tells us they just finished making dessert and brought us some great bread pudding. Unexpected but they did not charge us for it and seemed very gracious for us dropping in. I would also love to see more businesses like this! The food was lukewarm warm and some dishes cold as they were ready to close their lunch buffet. But if you are in 20-30 minutes before lunch hours are officially ending and you're paying like all other customers before you, you are entitled to the full menu of buffet options. This made the experience far less enjoyable. And felt rushed too. Anyway, the nice thing is I asked for some warm rice and they served me the plain white rise, more than I needed but it was not the mixed rice. As a traveling person I tried to just enjoy it. But can't give more than 3 stars. The seating arrangements are also not super comfortable but the servers were all very nice. Finally , the garlic naan tasted great but arrive 1/2 through my 30 minute stay. So timing was not ideal. read more

Also named Bahubali Biryani House Downtown, a recent name change not yet reflected in the online listings. What is reflected in both listings is the tremendous buffet we enjoyed. We were greeted and seated by the smiling Sehja. She asked which naan we wanted and took our drink order. Plain naan and mango lassi. Then off to the buffet. Aloo pakora, methi panner, yellow dal tadka and butter chicken makes for a full plate of goodness. Plenty of tables and booths to sit and enjoy. Was in Canada for a weekend trip and we HAD to try Indian food so we found Indian Delicacy, it's tucked on the side of a building plaza surrounded by beautiful tulips! Mango lassi was creamy and lightly mango taste it wasn't overpowering! We tried pani puri for the first time and it was a fun and delicious food to eat!You poke a hole and put the filling and sauce in! We also got the fried chicken but it was more like popcorn chicken in yogurt sauce soo delicious! By the way we got all mild and it was still pretty spicy! The highlight of our meal was the buttered chicken but honestly everything was chef's kiss and the best Indian food we've had so far! Ugh I'm salivating just thinking about it again! I've had plenty of Indian in Vancouver, and I love cooking it at home myself. I've had it at all price points in the city. I may not have the most traditionally discerning taste buds for this cuisine, but Indian Delicacy is my personal favorite Indian food in the city. I went for my mother's birthday, as she is pescatarian. We ordered fish curries and tandoori, and every bite was insane. The tandoori in particular blew me away -- I'd never had tandoori fish before, and I dare say it was better than the other proteins. The chutneys provided were sufficiently spicy, and i also loved how the curries served were kept hot by the candles lit below the pot. The service was outstanding -- we did go at an hour where it was pretty empty, but nonetheless, our server made multiple trips to ensure we were happy and refill our waters or help us order more naan/rice. This restaurant is hard to find (you have to go around the back). It was pretty empty when we went for dinner so I would think the service would have been a little more attentive. I ordered my dish mild and my friend ordered hers spicy. Mine came and it was very spicy. Even my friend who likes spice said it was very spicy. I think they accidentally made mine spicy and my friends mild because my friends dish was definitely more spicy than mine (by a lot). The waitress didn't offer to make it right and charged me for the dish, even though I didn't eat any and sent it back. I think if they made a mistake that they should either have remade it for free or not charged me for the dish. The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 0 stars: My friend said hers was too mild, but otherwise tasty. The appetizer we got was also good. Also, after I complained, they took a $10 dollars off of our order, but I still paid half for something I didn't eat because of their mistake. read more

Right before 6pm, we walked by debating on whether to enter as there were no customers inside. Being hungry, we went in. Fortunately, right after 6pm, three other groups came in. Our family paid a visit here to try the Buffet Brunch. At first glance, the restaurant was well-lit, comfortable, and had a welcoming ambiance. Service was applaudable and all of the employees seemed to be kind and helpful. All of the food was flavorful and tasted authentic. My personal favorites were the garlic naan and the cheese in the curry sauce. Most importantly, the buffet was affordable and felt like good value for your money. So, you may be wondering: "Why only 3 stars, then?" Well, there were a couple of challenges that we faced. When you approach the smorgasbord of buffet items on the serving counter, there is a clear and unobstructed sign reading, "All Buffet Foods are mild." This is not true. Less than five minutes into my meal, I had morphed into a fire-breathing dragon. My mouth was ablaze and radiating with overwhelming heat. Each time I brought my napkin to my face, it came back stained with snot and mucus. Now, I acknowledge that my spice tolerance leaves much to be desired. However, the fact that the buffet food was clearly advertised as "mild" felt deceitful. It wasn't mild, it wasn't mildly hot, it wasn't mildly spicy; it was spicy to the nth power. Other members of my party were also "feeling the heat," including one who has plenty of experience dabbling in the world of spicy food. To make matters worse, after returning home, all members of our party suffered from unpleasantly runny stool, if you know what I mean. I hope that this establishment was not the perpetrator of such discomfort, but I am not naive. Anyways, that's all! If you are a fervent lover of spicy food, this is definitely the place for you--if not, though, avoid at all costs. I hope this review doesn't sound too scary, because this is really a lovely restaurant with wonderful people at the helm and some tasty dishes as well. If you choose to brave the waters of Indian Delicacy, though, prepare for some surprises down the road. read more

If you have nut allergy BEWARE, I would NOT recommend this place. We informed the waitress of my son's allergy and was told no nuts on the dishes we've ordered. I even asked the waitress to go check with the chef to make sure and she did. After dinner my son had a life threatening reaction but glad we had his EpiPen. We've dined in Indian restaurants before (and love Indian food), and didn't have problems with other places. This place didn't inform us accurately. Disappointed! I was looking for some good Indian food around the area, and this came up as a recommendation. The entrance is a bit hard to find. I had to go behind building to find the door. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the smell of wonderful spices. there was Bollywood music playing in the background, which added a nice touch to the experience. We ordered two orders of garlic naan, fish malabari, mixed tandoori platter and the lamb koorma. Do know that rice is a separate order. We ordered two basmati rice but felt we could just order one -- they give you a lot! They don't skimp out on the protein amount. The fish malabari was so tangy and sweet. Lamb koorma was perfectly spiced. I appreciated that the garlic naan wasn't too oily, as most places make it really oily. I'd definitely come back here again. Super excited to find an Indian restaurant right around the corner from my hotel. It was very clean, lots of seating and comfortable at that. The food was pretty good, not delicious, but above average. I've eaten a fair amount of Indian food in the past, so I feel like I can give a decent review compared to others. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that rice does not come the curry-- you have to order it separately--as the menu clearly states. No rice with curry is wrong on so many levels!!! (We simply had two orders of naan--one plain and one garlic--instead.) The only reason for the 4 stars was that I asked the server to recommend a really good curry aside from tikka masala, which we already selected. He suggested a korma curry, which tasted similar enough. I guess I wasn't clear to say I wanted something different from tikka masala. Both curries, along with saag aloo, were very tasty and came in these beautiful silver bowls. We were probably the last customers of the night, leaving around 9:50pm before a 10pm closing on a weekday. We ordered butter chicken (the sauce is amazing and a big portion), lamb tikka (good but not as good as everything else), aloo gobi (lots of cauliflower!), garlic naan, a stuffed bread with coconut and raisins (a touch sweet but yum!), samosas (a touch spicy for our 7 year old but large and tasty), and mango lassi that came in a soup container with 2+ servings). Even the complementary sauces were so good - esp. the mint sauce.
