Oh wow. Words cannot express how good the food is. We ordered from grubhub and got the veggie samosa, the shahi paneer, chicken makhani, tandoori mix grill, and nan. The veggie samosas were sooo soooo good with the sauces and it was still hot when it came. The shahi paneer deserves the best seller title. Nothing can compare to it. It's light & creamy. I've been driving by this place for awhile and finally stopped in. I got the chai, Dahl soup, and Chicken Korma, with a side of rice. The Dahl was a heaping serving and nicely spiced lentils. Korma was an aromatic and creamy cashew sauce with tender chicken. Loved their mini pots that the main dish was served in. The rice was perfectly cooked. Some go tos: - Aloo Gobi - Chicken Tikka Masala - Bhindi Masala Curry - Lamb Pasanda Curry (try this with their kabuli naan!) Only downside is the guaranteed food coma after your meal. From my most recent visit: Lamb palak - lamb was tendered and spinach was creamy Chicken makhani - this is their version of what you know as butter chicken. India Palace's takeout was good to satisfy some Indian food cravings, however not enough to blow you away. I do not normally get Indian food, especially to go, but I was craving it and decided to order from here. I got their garlic nan, keema nan, lamb vindaloo, and lamb biryani. Out of all these items, the lamb biryani made this order worth it. The rice is empowered by its spices while still maintaining its moisture. This cannot be said about the nans as they were unfortunately very dry and hard to go down. The lamb vindaloo was good as well, however, the portion makes it hard to bargain to get it again. Overall, India Palace has a good size menu and food that is worth stopping by and trying. However, if you have a chance to ask what they recommend I would recommend you do that instead of ordering blind like me. read more

The most inauthentic Indian food Iv tried so far in US. It was sweet like a dessert and creamy like a mocha. If you ask me how authentic was the flavour, it was very very inauthentic. However, I had the opportunity to dine outside with my CrossFit crew and I absolutely fell in love with how much India Palace had improved! I ordered the tandoori chicken and loved how it came out on a sizzling plate. Also, I tried the chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, karahi chicken, garlic nan, keema nan (nan stuffed with minced lamb and aromatic spices) and mango kulfi. Can't go wrong with anything! But just wish India Palace hired two more waiters. I understand the restaurant industry is a hard business which 4/5 stars reflects that one down side. Solid spot to get Indian food. My go-to is Lamb Vindaloo and my husband will either go for Chicken Tikka Masala or Palak Paneer. They give decent portions and the food is very flavorful. I'm just always so disappointed with how soggy my garlic naan becomes for my to-go orders. They wrap it tightly in foil. I would recommend using paper bags instead so that it remains "open". We ordered the assorted vegetable appetizer, the palak paneer, chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan. The assorted vegetable platter was amazing - it had delicious Samosas, delicious fried cauliflower, fried potato, and vegetable pakoras. All were well-seasoned and different. We also got complimentary flat crisps that were great when I dipped it in green and purple (tamarind sauce l). Everything was so crispy and fresh so we were bracing for some amazing food. But then the actual main dishes came and the tikka masala was watery - it didn't have the normal thick texture like I was expecting and in fact was sort of bland. The palak paneer had the correct texture but was also kind of bland. Basically, from the amazing appetizers I was not expecting such mediocre main dishes. But it is what it is... My integrative doctor at UCSF asked me to be cautious of oils used in cooking to help alleviate stomach irritation. This is why I called the restaurant after eating here and feeling bad.I learned they Canola oil which causes inflammation and tumor growth. Image hard boiled eggs sliced in half length-wise, that was the size of about 5 pieces of dark meat chicken in the gravy. Nothing else just giant chunks of chicken. Plus I detest dark meat. There's a couple tables clustered together but since there was one or two other tables it wasn't noisy at all. There is a water fountain, overhead lighting, heating lamps, wall decor, a beautiful rose and you can also catch the setting sun if you sit at the right time. The food was piping hot and so fresh. Love this place that's why it's important to give 2 stars so owner can see this. I got a chicken tikka masala and chana masala last Friday. Chana was good but the chicken breast in the tikka masala was BAD.... it was very dry and I would say not even so fresh... I meant, this is such a simple dish that the restaurant can make it really well but it was so disappointing this time. We used to be a big fan of the buffet but still, the owner of this restaurant has a lot of love for it, and made a beautiful backyard sitting area during the pandemic. This is my new go-to for Indian lunch buffet. They have a very wide selection of mains and a good selection of sides. All the flavors are just perfect. I mean really really good quality ingredients and being a buffet you fill your plate as you like. Good naan too. Nice people and a pleasant open dining area with real cutlery and cloth napkins. Trivial I know but it tells you they are legit. Although its not part of the buffet I had to try the mulligatawny. Its sort of my benchmark for an Indian Restaurant. If they do that well - they rank. I forgot how delicious the food is and had such a great experience for dinner in the outdoor patio area. It used to be the parking lot behind the restaurant. Just walk straight to the back if you're dining in. Takeout is inside the restaurant. We ordered lamb samosas, lamb pasanda, tikka masala, 2 orders of garlic naan and a round of drinks for 4 people and it was perfect. I had no complaints about a single dish, the flavor profiles were all on point and the naan was extra thin, crispy and garlicky, just the way I like it!! I saved the leftover curry sauce and it made a tasty salad dressing for lunch the next day. I was not going to waste any of that goodness! The outdoor patio experience in the evening was open and romantic. I loved how we were surrounded by heat lamps that kept us warm throughout the night. I really enjoyed the ambiance and how this dining experience felt exclusive because the restaurant is so tucked away. There's plenty of street parking too. There don't offer indoor dining yet but I prefer order outdoor dining since we all need to get out these days. I like that we had full access to the menu. None of that limited Covid menu BS. I've been here a number of times over the years, and the other day my partner and I had an opportunity to go again with a couple of friends. They are doing outside seating for now, and happily, the outside seating area is well heated. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, garlic nan, lamb samosa, and lamb pasanda. The sauces in the tikka and the pasanda I could drink by the glassful. Get a couple of orders of the nan (each order is 4 pcs), you will need it to soak up the delicious sauces.
