Chicken Kottu Rotti. Truly a feast.
    Gabriela R.

Made the trek from SF to the Alameda Antique Fair (not my jam), paid admission, just to finally try the first Sri Lankan food truck in the Bay. I had the chicken kottu rotti, and dammit, it was so worth it. Flaky roti, hella veggies, tender chicken, yogurt drizzled all over that thang. The passion fruit beverage I got to pair this with. Perfection. Everything was freshly made, my taste buds delighted, all while we saw the Sri Lankan flag waving in the wind. My daughter exclaimed, "The lion means brave!" And that, that made the trek worth it. All of it. I'd do it 20 times over. What a gift this food truck is. My husband, who was born in Columbo (yep, he loved the food) chatted with Sam, one of the owners and they connected immediately. Sam was so generous and kind. We ordered 6 dishes to go. Yep, we loved it that much. You've never had anything like it, try it, your mauf will thank you.

Ayubowan is a great choice for anyone! A great staff with equally great ingredients. The flavors are extremely savory, similar to that of mainland Indian cuisine. If you like indian food you will like Ayubowan. The menu isn't too large which can be a good sign, fewer selections mean that each dish that is available is something they can make really well, it also makes it much easier to make a decision which can be a tough decision when you like too much. I asked the staff to surprise me and they did just that. I loved my dish and couldn't have had a better experience, so glad I decided to go with then instead of a burrito. Give this truck a try and remember to always feel free to ask the staff questions and answer uncertainties, these guys are so awesome I'm sure they can accommodate whatever you might need.

Delicious and Authentic Sri-Lankan Food. Not Very Spicy but full of right amount of spicy and flavorful food. Ordered kottu roti and rice, both was on the spot.

We found out about Ayubowan when the truck visited the Chabot museum. Wonderful service and amazing food, oh a very generous portions! But warning: food is a bit spicy.

The chips were fried fresh, and the ground beef was quality. I was hesitant to order ground beef nachos but it was great tasting & well made. I got full but couldn't stop eating them. The vibe is great, and the food definitely delivers on flavor. We tried quite a bit--the first Friday taco, chicken sandwiches, Mexican hot dog, and asada tacos--and everything was honestly amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day before leaving town just to have it again. Service was about an 8/10. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to one moment that didn't sit right with me. I watched a waitress bring out fries to a guest, the guest started eating them, and then she came back to say it was a mistake and took them away after he was already halfway through. That just didn't feel very service-oriented. In a situation like that, it would have been better to acknowledge the mistake and let the guest keep the fries on the house. Taking back half-eaten food felt like poor judgment. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. Great atmosphere, great flavors, and definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Super awesome. The kitchen is wide open. Everything was super clean and well put together. Service - 5/5 Great recommendations from the staff. The house slaw and banana pudding were clearly popular choices, and they definitely knew what they were doing when guiding the order. I told them it's my first time. These were what they recommended me. One of the staff actually gave a piece of brisket to try. Very nice of them to give a free sample before I order so I know what I'm expecting. Food - 4.5/5 Dish Ordered: Dino Rib, Brisket ( 1/2 lb), House Slaw, Banana Pudding 5/5 Dino Rib Wow. This was the highlight. The meat was unbelievably tender--every single part of it. Usually with ribs, especially the upper portions, you get some toughness or dryness depending on how it's smoked. Not here. This one was melt-in-your-mouth soft, juicy throughout, and you could practically pull it apart effortlessly. The seasoning was perfect--balanced, not too salty, not bland, just right. Every bite hit. 4/5 Brisket ( 1/2 lb) About two slices. Visually, it looked great--nice color, juicy, with a solid fatty portion. But after eating the Dino rib, it felt a bit underwhelming. Still good, just didn't hit as hard flavor-wise. Might be better appreciated on its own next time. 5/5 House Slaw This paired extremely well with the meat. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing. The hint of peanuts adds a nice nutty layer that makes it stand out. It cuts through the richness of the meat perfectly. 5/5 Banana Pudding Not your typical pudding--it's more like a banana cake. The sweetness not too overwhelming, smells amazing, and just hits the spot. A great way to finish the meal. Additional Comments The Dino rib alone makes this place worth it. It sets a very high bar, which honestly makes everything else feel secondary. The best Rib I have ever had in my life so far. Important thing to note is that the rib will be weighed. I don't think you can ask to get the portion you want like you can with the brisket. My Dino rib came out to be 1.6lb. The sides and dessert complement the meal really well and round out the experience. Price is bit is definitely in the higher end but the experience is definitely worth it.

My husband wanted to order food from here to take home for his birthday. We came on a Wednesday a little after 4:30 PM and there were less than 5 people in line. It went quick but we can see how there can be a line on weekends since there's only one person cutting meat in the back. The food is phenomenal though and worth the wait (again coming from someone who doesn't eat a lot of bbq or meat). The sides are my favorite. They are so good. We got every single one :). I loved the brisket and the mustard sauce. And we got the dessert drink which was tasty for someone who has a big sweet tooth. Overall, it's fantastic and next to a brewery. There's a small parking lot near by. Would definitely come again!!!

The wait time was far too long in my opinion. Another party's items were served before ours, we ordered the same items and they came after us. The bottom floor houses the nature and conservancy, which offers larger than life animal depictions. The second floor was my favorite since it showcases history through the years and it was like walking down memory lane. I will admit every Friday Night I am at Off the Grid outside the Oakland Museum of California. I will admit I overdid it by checking out the exhibits at the museum weekly where I made a friend Preston, the Emcee at the Oakland Museum of California. Over 10 different food trucks to chose from. The highest food trucks they had at the market was up to 20 during the summer time. It is worth coming down to Oakland Museum to see all the different food trucks they have. I will admit I miss the past Market supervisor that ran the market (Adam, Alex, Paul, Henley, whomever ran the market that I can not remember their names). Ben, the current supervisor got this market running smoothly. I been enjoying the market. What makes this market to go to on Friday Night compared to going to Fort Mason is discount on museum tickets. You have a museum to go to while getting food from the food trucks. They also have a garden where children can run around in. The live music at the Oakland Museum of California is amazing. It is worth checking it out. This is the market to check out Friday Night.
