First time here
Joe P.

My first time here and I enjoyed my food. I ordered Goat Curry and Garlic Naan. It was really good. The garlic naan was amazing. The customer service needs to improve though. He was not friendly, and I felt rushed. He didn't check on us after he served the food. It was clean and sanitary. I will come back and check them out again.

Garlic Naan

Ordered a takeout. 1. Garlic Naan - had to buy 2 portions because one is never enough. Love the garlic butter rubbed on the hot fresh naan. 2. Chicken Tikka Masala - my gf's favorite. Always good, creamy, tomato-y goodness. 3. Goat Curry 2x - I wanna say, this is my favorite! The flavor on this one is beyond phenomenal, especially when ordered on the spicy level. But again, big major complaint, not enough meat, too much curry gravy, that's why I end up ordering two portions. My gf is ok with one order of Chicken Tikka Masala because she's always loved more Naan, and less meat & gravy. I'm not ok with it, but she is. 4. Pulao rice, its a gimmicky move selling this item. I wanted the goat biryani but the prices add up, and its gonna mount up to $80. No way. So I tried getting this one instead of regular basmati rice(which should be a complimentary item once you order 2 entree dishes with bread, BUT NOPE). Back to this item, I'd never get it again. Frozen vegetables, no flavor on the rice, probably not even saffron on this rice. Most likely tumeric for color(judging by the skimp, they probably also fail to provide quality ingredients). Can't say anything about service, its take out. As well as ambiance. The food (meat entrees and bread) is good and flavorful, but then again, portions aren't the price you pay for. This is probably the 2nd time I ordered and was disappointed about the portions. Meat entrees' mostly gravy, not enough meat. For an over $15 per item, you'd expect something better than this. 3 stars. Not bad.

Seems like they are new, but the food is absolutely delicious. I worked out probably be ordering this every time I hit the bay.

I would recommend to anyone. The lamb was amazing and the service was good. The ambiance was a tad sketchy due to the location though.

This exceptional establishment has become my go-to destination for experiencing the genuine flavors and aromas that transport me back to cherished memories of home-cooked meals from years past. I discovered Flavor of India several years ago, and since that initial visit, I have never once been disappointed--not with the food, not with the service, and not with the overall experience. What makes this restaurant truly special is the remarkable consistency they maintain. Every time I walk through their doors, I know I'm in for an authentic culinary journey that honors traditional North Indian cooking methods and recipes. The heart and soul of Flavor of India are undoubtedly Pawan and Gurudev, the dedicated staff members who don't just serve customers--they welcome guests like family. Their warm hospitality creates an atmosphere that goes far beyond a typical dining experience. They remember regular customers, take time to explain dishes, make thoughtful recommendations, and genuinely care about ensuring everyone feels comfortable and well-cared-for. This personal touch transforms a simple meal into something meaningful and memorable. The restaurant's physical space itself contributes significantly to the overall ambiance. Abundant natural light floods the dining area, creating a bright, welcoming environment that feels both refreshing and inviting. Unlike dimly lit restaurants where you strain to see your food, Flavor of India's well-lit space allows you to fully appreciate the vibrant colors of the dishes--the rich reds of tandoori preparations, the golden hues of curries, and the fresh greens of chutneys and garnishes. Adding another layer to the sensory experience, the restaurant often plays bhajans--devotional songs that provide a spiritual and cultural soundtrack to your meal. These traditional hymns are a true blessing, creating an atmosphere that feels authentically connected to Indian culture and heritage. The combination of soulful music with the aromatic spices wafting from the kitchen creates a multisensory experience that engages not just your taste buds but your entire being. Whether you're seeking the comfort of familiar childhood flavors or exploring North Indian cuisine for the first time, Flavor of India delivers on every front. The authenticity of the food, the warmth of the staff, the inviting atmosphere, and the thoughtful cultural touches all combine to create a dining experience that nourishes both body and soul. This is more than just a restaurant--it's a place where tradition, hospitality, and exceptional food come together perfectly.

The food was quite bland, lacking the expected flavor and spice from Indian cuisine. I even asked for some extra spice, but there wasn't any. One of the naan orders was also a bit raw and chewy. The customer service wasn't great either; the attendant seemed a bit grumpy when I was paying. Overall, it would take a lot to convince me to try them again.

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! Definitely recommend coming here for an occasion.

The space is absolutely beautiful, which explains why reservations are so hard to come by. I somehow snagged a last-minute outdoor reservation for four, but three more people joined us at the last minute. When we arrived, I asked a gentleman who looked like the manager if we could move indoors because it was cold. Even though they were very busy, he found us indoor seats in a perfect spot -- we definitely got lucky. We were a party of seven, half of us vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was great, but the vegetable biryani stole the show for me. I don't come from India, so take this from a non-native -- it was hands down the best veggie biryani I've ever had. The flavors were incredible, and it came with raita and a chutney that paired perfectly. I kept thinking about it even after trying everything else. Other highlights: the gunpowder idli was mind-blowing, and the lotus root appetizer (my first time trying lotus root) was a delightful surprise -- great texture and flavor. The dosa was soft and exactly how I like it (I'm not into crispy dosa), and the paratha with the vegetable curry was delicious too. The meat dishes my friends ordered got rave reviews from them as well, but I was still daydreaming about that biryani. Service was excellent -- the staff were kind, patient, and especially attentive to the kids in our party. When the restaurant is busy there can be a wait for food, but trust me: every bite is worth the wait. Highly recommend Anantara if you want a beautiful dining experience with outstanding food.

We arrived around 8 PM and were welcomed with the same warm, energetic greeting you'd expect at opening time. Kumar, a young host, was absolutely the friendliest -- such a pleasant start to the evening. We ordered a bunch of dishes: veg fried rice (delicious), dal makhani (yum), jeera rice, a vegetable curry, garlic naan, pakodas (yum), chai, and mango lassi. But the standout was the veg chowmein -- it was bomb. It became everyone's favorite instantly and was the first dish cleared from the table. We even met one of the cooks who was super sweet. Bless you guys for being so amazing. This is seriously some of the best food around -- I'll definitely be back for those chowmein. Highly recommend!
