The people working here make homework much less dreadful. Good coffee (the best vanilla latte in Spokane- Madagascar vanilla syrup makes the drink), not too much noise, and an overall friendly environment. Indaba has become my Spokane happy place. P.s. There is an easy to access parking lot in the back. Make sure to take advantage of!! read more

Great coffee and ambiance. I love how creative their drinks are, and it's the best place to go to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and a book. Most of all, the staff are phenomenal. They helped me find my wallet when I lost it the other day (went out of their way to call the new Indaba store where I left it and helped me get it) and are so kind to everyone that comes through their doors! I highly recommend. read more

I was part of an article in the Spokane/ Coeur d Alene Living magazine saying how amazing this coffee shop was. I went in the Broadway store yesterday and was appalled at how snobby and stuck up the staff was. I asked one of them a question and they looked me like I committed the unpardonable sin. Very disappointed. read more

I give huge props to Bobby of Indaba for playing a big part in starting a coffee renaissance in the Inland Northwest, following the trends you'll find in Portland and San Francisco. First of all, he and all the baristas employed are pros. Every drink is handcrafted to perfection. These guys understand coffee and represent it as well as you can. They bring in the best coffees you'll find, selecting only the best offerings from the best roasters. It should be noted also that the 'Inland Northwest Thursday Night Throwdown' barista series was started by Bobby and his team. This has had a big impact on other cafes opening in the area, and really has brought the coffee community closer. Indaba sets the bar for other cafes to try to follow! read more

Awesome coffee shop with great coffee and perfect study vibes. The baristas are friendly, playlist is top notch, and you'll find a variety of folks here reading, studying, hanging out. Specific perks for me, as a person who is always studying, were that outlets were not hard to find, the wifi is fast, coffee is great, and there are plenty of tables. I've also heard that this is one of the only places in Spokane to get yourself a matcha latte. For munchin', there is a small shelf of baked goods--I recommend the sticky bun, heated up! read more

Indaba is the ultimate meeting place. I see the owner extending a hand not only to the most vulnerable community members but also to some of the most well established members. In a sense, Indaba has created a meeting place for all community members. I come here to study (I counted 47 outlets), to meet cohorts and colleagues, and to be with people I am doing life with. Every time I come to Indaba, I know that the mission is driving the coffee, so it makes me happy to pay a little extra. The coffee ruins me it is so delightful. I typically drink a vanilla mocha. The smooth rich blend of homemade vanilla and cacao is a perfect complement to the highest quality blends of coffee. I would recommend Indaba as a meeting place for any community member. read more

Bobby knows his beans. By chance my normal stop for a flat white was busy and I missed my turn. I saw Indaba and had to stop. Wow, am I glad I did. I ordered my standard double-shot with 2 ounces steamed milk and no foam. He replied 'oh, a cortado.' I replied with 'I like how the Aussie's call it a flat white.' He was the first barista to even know what this was! He convinced me to pause and enjoy my drink from a traditional glass. From there we talked about brewing methods, beans, local roasters and great tasting coffee. Indaba is fantastic. The espresso was perfectly balanced with nice Carmel overtones and a great richness. The non-homogenized milk from Othello was a great compliment to the coffee. Absolutely the best coffee bar in Spokane, very knowledgeable and pleasant. The place to go to enjoy a great coffee from any of the available brewing methods. read more

Great coffee and breakfast. They were very considerate of my daughter's nut allergy, which I always appreciate. The space is nice as well.

Awesome coffee! This place not only has great coffee, great service & a great shop, but they help out the community of Spokane. I know they help kids/teens resell their beans to help out programs around the community. Their staff is very friendly & remembers your order. It feels like a small town coffee shop when you go there. Love their lemon latte read more

Free music, veraci's pizza, batch bakery goods, and 50% off their drink for their 5 year anniversary today? Yes please. Happy anniversary Indaba :) read more

I was on a business trip in Spokane, and I had the best soy latte I've had in a long time, if ever! I tried a strawberry turnover and it was delicious: crispy and flaky on the outside with big pieces of fruit inside. read more

Indaba Coffee - Soy latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Spokane, Washington

Indaba is the first serious coffee bar I found in Spokane. Not only that, but they excel at going about their high class gourmet brewing without all the snobbish airs of coffee aficionados. They are leading the way in the fight to educate Spokane about the subtleties of coffee. They are constantly improving and changing. They make the courageous choice to be on the cutting edge of coffee even before Spokane is ready for it. It's worked out for them well, even when I fear that there isn't a market for gourmet coffee here yet. They use quality beans from several local roasters. They are doing a great job at encouraging healthy competition between local roasters in order to improve the quality of the entire region. Their baristas are top-notch, know what they are doing and are passionate about coffee. More and more, Indaba is becoming a shop just about coffee. They sell baked goods and lunch fare, but it is from local bakers and shops and is no longer made by the baristas. They are striving to be the best at what they do, and so far it has worked. read more

In search of locally produced coffee, I stumbled across Indaba. The gentleman who helped me at the register let me taste (but not smell) the roasts that they had in stock, which to me was disappointing because there are many ways to brew coffee, so the taste of one particular brewing method is different than the next. I found all of their roasts to be too light, but I still decided to purchase what the cashier recommended as their darkest roast. Initially, I was rather disappointed with it. Using either a French press or aeropress with it yielded coffee that was so light, that it tasted like a tea. While some people may desire this type of taste, it was certainly not what I was expecting for the darkest roast at a coffee shop. However, I do have to say that this roast makes some excellent expresso. It is not overly bitter and it has a very smooth taste. This is not a good place to go if you are looking for any type of special blends or roasts. In fact, I would say that the defining characteristic of their coffee is the lack of any type of special taste. That being said, I think it's not fair to evaluate this business based on the quality of their coffee, but rather on the effectiveness of their entire business model. Indaba seems to be very involved in the local community. I believe that they donate to a local food bank with every pound of coffee purchased, which explains the prices of their products. While the coffee at Indaba may not be something that wows you, the ethics behind the business are what separates it from other coffee places in Spokane. I hope that in the future, they expand their selection of coffee and develop their own niche blend and flavor. read more

This is my go-to place. The coffee and the people here are awesome. Lots of seating. Great place to meet with people or get some work done.

Indaba knows what it's doing. The owner is a good guy, and has great employees. Everyone in Spokane knows they're the 900 lb gorilla, and for good reason. They do it well. read more

I would give it a 4.5 for the drinks alone but because two of the employees humiliated us for ordering wrong and belittled their new employee because she rang it up wrong; it is a two. I have been in before and never received such poor service. Update: After responses from Indaba owner, I am changing review to 1 star. read more

Indaba on Broadway is a very special place and It may be the finest cup of coffee in Spokane, wa. The people are always good but if that cup of coffee is done right by the barista it can't be better in Spokane. Uncle Na Na showed my family this place and we drive 6 plus miles from the North side to get a butter scotch latte. read more

Great little coffee shop that is near the courthouse and the upcoming Kendal Yards neighborhood. I love their caramel lattes. The caramel sauce is made in house and is a treat! The baristas are very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve and how they serve it. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a fancy latte, I would recommend checking Indaba out! read more

Rate 5 for environmental, very comfortable. Food and drink rating rate 2.

Bobby Enslow, the owner of Indaba Coffee, has dedicated that past several years to mastering the art of espresso. Some call him a great barista and a nice guy, others an artist with various brew and pour methods, and still others, the Korean Willy Wonka of coffee. Religiously experimenting day in and day out, this is a man who knows his beans. His entire staff is a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into brewing coffee. Whether you're looking for a simple drip, a latte/mocha, or a more complex French Press, Aero Press, or Chemex, this is one place you'll be happy to know has your back. Set in West Central, it's a welcome atmospheric boost set alongside and awesome locally owned and Fair Trade book store, known as "The Book Parlor." Make sure to drop by for a quick drink or sit down amongst the amazing aromas, excellent pastries/food, and incredible staff. I'm willing to bet you won't be disappointed. From the perspective of someone who knows his local coffee shops, this stands apart among the best there is. Way to go, Bobby and staff! You are appreciated!! Dave Ainley read more

the coffee here is good! i also like the barista working at night each time i come, she comes off as very genuine. i usually go for the kendall yards latte. the space always feels laidback as well, spacious so you can find a spot to sit down rather than cramped. i didn't feel a rush to get up for others. read more

The coffee is supreme! Love the service. Im always greeted with a smile and they get me my coffee fast and efficiently .

Fantastic coffee! And this is coming from a guy who doesn't usually like coffee. Atmosphere of the shop is fantastic and has a great minimalist feel to it. The baristas are awesome and extremely personable there. Definitely can tell the shop cares about it's customers and city. Perfect place to relax and read or even do homework. Definitely recommend it! 10/10 would drunk coffee there again. read more

Everytime I come down from Seattle I make a stop at Indaba. What you get at Indaba is incredible coffee using local beans (bumpercrop) and fantastic service. The staff is very knowledgable about coffee and will help you get the perfect cup of coffee that with lighten up your day. I recommend the Vanilla Soy Latte. If you are in the area - make a stop at Indaba - you won't regret it. read more

Very friendly staff and owner. The coffee is the best I've had in Spokane, reminds me of Bluebottle in SF just not as pretentious and totally down to earth. read more

Came here on a busniss trip for a conference. Good coffee, great little snacks, inexpensive and offered some variety to their latte flavors. The restaurants around the arena got a little packed, so the 15 minute walk to get away from the crowd was totally worth it. They had a dill potato salad that was pretty tasty. It's a nice find for a coffee date or a spot to do work. read more

Why did it take me so long to try Indaba???? If you're looking for truly great coffee and baristas who know coffee and tea and that are genuinely nice, this is your spot! The service is amazing. The interior has lots of reading, studying, and socializing space. And the coffee.... I tried the vanilla citrus latte the first time and was blown away. Came back and tried the Cold Fashioned. THEY ARE FLAVOR GENIUSES. I need to try the whole menu, I'm on a mission. And they have Boots Bakery foods along with other bakeries' goodies too! read more

Indaba Coffee - Love in a cup - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Spokane, Washington

I went in on a weekend, the coffee was alright and decently priced. The problem was the music! The guy was blasting what sounded like Sylvester Stalone after a stroke singing Christmas carols! And it was CD so you couldn't get away from it and was loud enough that I couldn't focus on anything else. The guy working was commenting on how no one was in there. I'm guessing it's because he'd been chasing everyone away with that terrible music! I talked to a friend of mine and he had the same experience. read more

Nope... just nope! This was the most expensive cold brew I have ever bought at $5 for a 16oz. The Barista was friendly enough, but I just can't get over the price for a black cold brew. $$$!! Also the last be was cluttered with too much advertising... read more

Indaba Coffee offers a very nice environment with all of today's expected coffee shop amenities. There is also a charming bookstore attached to the shop so if you need a new read while you are there, it is only a few steps away! read more

I loved it better when it shared space with a bookstore but even after the change the coffee is amazing. The service is fantastic, never snooty or snobby. Tremendous appreciation of quality and roasting on site! If they wanted to they could certainly include more food options beyond the Batch pastries (think boots deli), and they could price their chocolate options and have a few more price tiers. read more

I get the iced lattes here and they are really good! It's a great large space for hanging out or studying. I always go in the afternoon and by that time a lot of their baked goods are gone, but I know that they do carry baked goods as well. It's definitely cool that they roast their own beans. I've definitely been a repeat customer here! read more
