I made approximately my 5th visit to Incycle Pasadena today, and the unbroken streak of being completely ignored by their staff continued. I think I could go into this store naked on a horse and the staff would pretend I wasn't there. Do they ignore me because they think a woman isn't a serious customer? Is it because I'm an older woman? I don't know. I used to race Elite XXC and XC, have 2 expensive Pivots (not purchased at Incycle), and have been thinking about dropping $5k on a new one, but Incycle has not earned my business. I dropped off a wheel a few months ago for service, and when I decided that enough time had elapsed without the promised phone call, I called. I encountered the most surly, most unpleasant individual on the phone. Literally every visit I've made to this store has left me angry and upset. I've been a bike shop employee before -- our strict policy was to greet every customer within 3 steps of the door, and to ask how they can be helped, and especially make women feel valued in the shop. Incycle staff seems to go out of their way to not make eye contact and to avoid. I love to support my local bike shops, I feel it's really important to do so, and usually the customer service is what distinguishes a shop from buying online. Geez guys can you just try a little to make me not regret making the drive? I'd like to also say that my experience at the Incycle in San Dimas has been positive. My 1st time here. I wanted to buy a Specialized all Carbon Road Bike and a Lazer Helmet. Did my research on the internet and their online store. So I was ready and went to the store to look at the bikes in person. There were about less than 10 customers inside. The bikes I wanted to look at and feel it, they were all hung on the ceiling. I wasn't tall enough to reach it myself. No sales rep came up to me. And I couldn't get any help from anyone there. And I was in there for 20 mins with no help. End up leaving. I want to highlight two specific individuals at this store, Johnny and Ceasar. Both individuals answered every question (and I had many) with patience and a wealth of knowledge. Their knowledge of bikes made me feel like I made the right choice walking into the store. I told them my budget and not once did I ever feel pressured to buy something more expensive. They took me out on bike rides and assisted in helping find the right bike. Overall, I'd say my experience was great; they've made a long time customer. Went with my girl on Wednesday to drop off my e-scooter for repair, it had a flat tire, the guy at the counter literally ignored us and a coworker was the one helping us and being an intermediary because the guy was too busy to talk to us when we are literally in front of him while he is staring at the register. At the end of the day he sent her to look for the part that we needed to get it fix, they took my scooter and gave me a receipt and I was told that they were gonna call when it was ready for pickup, silly me thought it was gonna be ready the next day, because they literally don't give you any information about the process or anything. I called the next day, and they told me they take 4-5 days to fix a flat tire, 5 days max, almost a week later and it wasn't even done! Got tired of waiting picked it up and took it where they really appreciate my business. A really bad experience if not the worst... read more

Reading previous reviews, there's been talk about "oh it's too pricey" or "oh there is no service." From the moment I walked in, I have gotten many helpful employees asking what I was looking for and if I needed any assistance--without being overly bearing or clingy. They are all also very knowledgeable and can give advice on both indoor and outdoor cycles. The store is very well organized and clean, in a fashion which reminded me of Bass Pro stores (clean, organized, and an outdoorsy environment which made you feel at home). As for pricings, I got a pair of cycle shoes on sale for a decent price with cleats, which the nice employees put on for me for no extra charge. I've seen cheaper deals, but the shoes I've seen with those deals don't look so hot. I'm loving mine and I'll definitely be back for any cycle needs! read more

Staff didn't hesitate to help me find the correct saddle for my needs and got fitted to one that I was a bit skeptical at first since it was branded as a women's saddle but to my dismay I'm glad I went with the Specialized Power Expert w/ Mimic. Great staff and awesome selection. Im a big dude trying to get in better health and biking is key for me due to bad knees. Ive been needing a better seat due to numbing issue during long rides. Ive been reluctant due to sheer emberrasment. These dudes didnt make me feel like a chump. They explained that no matter the size if the seat isnt right sitting on the wrong saddle is putting uneeded pressure on nervea and even main vein that run underneath. They measured me out and was even able to bring in my bike same day b4 closing to get it installed and 0 issues. I appreciate these guys level of attention and detail. Having come to this new location time and time again, I have yet to have any problems with customer service or any of the other things I have encountered in a few other shops in the area. They also have the largest selection, in my opinion, of higher end bikes in stock. Robert, Devin, Karen, Justin (from Rancho Location), Sam, and Carlos, have all treated me with the best customer service. I am proud to refer friends to this local shop for their needs. I'm familiar with over a dozen bike stores in the LA area but this one....dude...i literally choked on my Cliff bar. Rows and rows of components, tires galore, some real nice looking apparel, accessories in every conceivable shape and size of the highest quality. This is a "bikies" bike store for sure. I came to pick up some tape for a tubeless conversion. The employee- chill guy with a beard- was super helpful. We couldnt find the correct size tape so he suggested i use gorilla tape. Worked like a treat. I appreciate his integrity. They also stocked the ESI grips that i usually have to order. Awesome place. Also liked the layout of the place reminiscent of REI. Came in three different times and all three times I had a hard time even getting someone to help me. I think there is definitely some bias here to people they perceive as young or just browsing. I man came in who was much older than I and about 10 mins after I was there and was helped right away. When I asked to see a bike after, I was told everyone was busy with customers but I could wait if I wanted. Sadly they are one of the only Cannondale retailers in the area. I really wanted to like this place. Their bike selection is great and their staff was great on my first visit there but my experience with buying a bike them was just dismal. During this COVID19 year there was a huge demand for bicycles and it was difficult to find one anywhere. I was so happy when I called Incycle Pasadena on on June 9th and they has the bike i had been looking for for weeks. The bike was a Specialized Divergence E5. They took my information and a $500 deposit after telling me that it would take about 2-3 days for the bike to be transferred to the Pasadena Store and I would receive a call when it arrived. 3 days later I had not received a call so I decided to call the shop to check on my bike. I called repeatedly and was unable to talk to a person due to a circular phone answering system for about 2 hours. When I was able to talk to someone they said that it wasn't there but they would call me when it arrived. I waited a couple more days without a call and decided to call again. This scenario replayed itself and continued daily until today (8 days after placing my deposit). Multiple times the employee who I spoke to rudely informed me that they would call me when it arrived but wouldn't give me any information on what the delay was. I was finally able to speak to someone (8 days after my initial call) who placed me on hold to check the store if the bike was there. 3-5 minutes later another employee took me off hold and said that they would take my information and have the original employee call me back. It's been about 4 hours since then and no call back. I've tried to call the store back but am unable to speak to a live person. I've left a couple of messages on their system over the past week and have never had one of my calls returned. This whole process here has been dismal and left a poor taste in my mouth. I don't know if the entire Incycle franchise is like this, but the Pasadena store and its lack of communication, horrible telephone system and occasional curt employees is absolutely deplorable. I've been a long time customer. I can't recommend incycles. Recently I went into the bike shop to have them take off the threaded bottom bracket cup on my mountain bike because I did not have the right size bottom bracket tool. It took literally 1 min. To unthread the cup and the mechanic charged me $10 dollars. The previous time I had them service my cassette for warranty work they over torqued my SRAM xo1 eagle cassette to the freehub . This has caused the inner teeth of my $370 dollar cassette to strip when I tried to remove it myself to to service my hubs. Also their customer service seems nonexistent. I've been to plenty of bike shops near by who are friendly and are more competent mechanic than the one who serviced my bike last couple of times. Maybe they are getting too big. read more

I've yet to talk to one that is a regular mountain biker. When I mention El Prieto I usually hear "I need to ride that...." they don't really know how to answer and help MTB shoppers. Service: I've seen and heard some cringeworthy stuff. Like the time two guys were trying to remove a cassette lock ring by putting the lock ring tool in a vice and turning the wheel....the wrong direction. The new bike I bought there had some signs of hasty assembly and poor craftsmanship. Like cables held in place by zip ties cut long and at an angle, perfect for slicing your leg open. I understand that they're busy like any other bike shop today but this was probably the worst experience as a customer at a bike shop. I took my bike in for repairs and after over 2 weeks they said it was done and I should pick it up. I pick it up and I still have the same problem. It would have taken the mechanic less than a minute to check if it was fixed, yet they didn't and had me come and pick it up. So they asked me to bring it back, which I did and after 2 days I get a call saying they can't fix it and I should take it elsewhere. 3 trips and nearly a month without my bike being repaired. One of my friends referred me to Incycle after the local one I usually go to closed down and the other nearest one was out of stock of almost everything due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. There was some wait to going in due to the limited amount of people allowed in the building but it was do-able. As soon as I walked in I was blown away by the number of things offered in the store. I originally came to scope out some new cycling shoes and a bike stand for cleaning but took an hour just walking around the store looking at all the merchandise. It took a while to get some workers' attention when I needed it but all of them were busy helping out other customers-I didn't mind. I ended up buying a few gels, a sun protector sleeve, and some lube. I highly recommend going here if you're looking for a new shop to commit to. We came to find a mountain bike for my son. We had been to a couple of other stores however due to low inventory there were no bikes that my son could test ride. We came here and found the staff to be so helpful. I was straight up honest about my budget and did not want to get carried away with upgrades that are unnecessary. The guy that helped us was great! I shared my concerns with the size bike and my son who is 11 and growing at the speed of light. He allowed my son to test ride a bike in two sizes and I also had a go as I want my sons bike to be mine when he grows out of it. The gentleman was gracious in helping explain to my son that he doesn't need full suspension, hydraulics and tubeless wheels for the type of riding we do which I really appreciated. Took the pressure off me as a mom with a budget and a kid that wants the world lol. Well anyway I was not actually intending on buying my son a bike that day but everything kinda fell into place so I got it for him. I know absolutely nothing about bikes, haven't used one since I was 8 and I'm 21 now. I was looking for the absolute easiest thing to use to and from work and I got just that. As soon as I walked in the door I was asked what I needed and once I told them they got right to it. Tyler, the guy who was helping me, showed me the bikes, answered all my silly questions, and even got the color scheme bike that I wanted ordered from another store. When it came in the next day he let me test ride it, made all the adjustments needed, and even went ahead and attached the lights for me and showed me how to lock the bike, use the lights, and named some good parks in the area to bike and get used to it again. I have absolutely no complaints and even though I felt really embarassed asking so many seemingly silly questions, but they helped me a lot and I would do it all over again. Disclosure up front: I did not give them my business. I am writing this review because my experience with them over the phone was excellent. I called because I needed service on my Pedego electric bicycle. The workers were very pleasant and polite over the phone, which sad to say is a rarity nowadays. I really appreciated that. I was transferred to Derek at the Service department. Derek informed me that they could take a look at my bike, but that Pedego bikes tend to require more work and specialized service than he would likely be able to provide. He took the time to explain the likely problems and fixes with my bike, and offered to take a look, but also recommended another shop where I could receive specialized service. I was really impressed with his pleasant tone, his knowledge and expertise, and his willingness not only to admit his limitations but also to recommend where I could find the service that I needed. Again, in the end I did not give Incycle my business, but I was very impressed with my experience with them over the phone, and I think it deserved a positive review. I will definitely be calling them first with any other cycling needs in the future. read more

The sales team from the floor people to the managers are all awesome. The shop has a great selection of bikes to choose from. The service department is great, all the technicians I have dealt with have been super cool to talk to with. Answering my questions and taking care of anything efficiently. A while ago I went in to the Pasadena shop looking for a gravel bike, not sure of which make and model I wanted. Within a couple of minutes Mike had me looking at the bike I ended up buying. He listened to what I wanted and why, then pointed out a couple of great options. After making my decision, he recognized that they didn't have my size in stock in the store. He checked the system and found the bike in my size and had it delivered to the shop the next day. After a quick test ride I bought it. I have put about 600 miles on it since and absolutely love my gravel bike. After a couple of months riding, I scheduled a bike fitting appointment with Sergio. Probably the best money I have ever spent on a bike. Sergio is such a personable guy, he made the whole process fun and easy. The bike now feels like it's my bike, not a bike off the rack that I ride. Honestly, the pedaling is so easy, it feels like the bike glides and I'm not stretching for anything. Everything is where it should be, which means less thinking and less work for me. Do yourself a favor and spend the time and money. It's like buying an expensive suit or dress, you take the garment to the tailor. Same goes here. Make your experience on the bike the best it can be. read more

All of my trouble started with the bike mechanic. I bought a Cervelo S3 from this place but instead just returned when it had been damaged by the bike mechanics. I made a mistake when I did an upgrade exchange for a S3 disk, hoping for a better one but every bike I received had its own issues either it had lot of scratches or incorrectly built or defective parts. My last service performed by Shawn for the fork replacement is terrible, he had to cut my steering tube with the insert already glued in because it's too long for my bike and I wondered why he didn't know this before he glued. Now my insert is just enough to hold the star nut and this is not ideal to the manufactured designed, my hydraulic brake was rubbed and loss of braking power after his service.The brake rotor is dull and has a lots of scratches, a big gouge on a caliper and a scratch on my wheel as well. He also has an attitude when I questioned him about my brake issue. Seems to me like the more repair service they do on my bike, the more problems and damages I encountered by a bike mechanic. Either they don't know or don't care. Johnny from San Dimas replaced my damaged rotor but other damages from Shawn's bad job still remain on my bike. This is the most dissatisfaction and frustrating purchase I have ever experienced and will also be the last from Incycle. A gouge on caliper body also scratch marks by the bolt on my carbon fork under the brake adapter. Shawn said he did not use any power tool on my carbon bike, but I do not think a turn from a hand tool can be able to gouge out my caliper as you can see from the picture. read more
