Guy charged me $6+taxfor two bolts that would cost 20 cents at Home Depot. I can understand they're not a hardware store but that's a steep up charge to a local customer who had been there a few times prior. I paid however wish I would just been patient and driven the mile down to Home Depot in cypress park. Lesson learned! read more

Could've been better. I took my bike here for a tune up and road tires. My nearly new off-road tires weren't returned to me and they didn't even try to get them. That's not cool. How much are new ones I have to go buy now? Then I go to pump up my rear wheel after it deflated and the valve keeps going into the rim hole as the screw washer to hold the valve on the rim is missing. Sigh. Basics, man. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to finish assembling our bikes and I'm pretty sure we got ripped off. First, we called and asked how much it would be to assemble an ENTIRE bike. He said $80. Ok reasonable. But our bikes just needed the back tire and handlebar to be attached and my bike needed sealant. Our bikes already had the gears attached to the body and the front tire already on too. He said $20 per tire for sealant. ok cool. He then told us to bring in the bikes for better estimates. We take the bikes in and he looks at my bike and says "$30 per tire" when just over the phone he told us $20 per tire. And then he said it would be $100 to put the rest of the bike together because the sealant is separate(?) When my boyfriend told him he felt a little ripped off the guy says, "Well then go find another shop." Bro. Really? He then takes a look at my boyfriend's bike and says that he can put the rest of the bike together for $60 as if he's getting us a deal. Not only that, he knew my brakes were switched because my bike is a Giant from Taiwan and wanted to charge an extra $60 to "fix" them when I asked about them. We picked the bikes up the next day but I'm not very happy customer. He also took a look at me and assumed this was my first bike. Makes sense as to why he ripped me off. What an amazing bike shop! I brought in my bicycle today on short notice after my front brakes broke and they fit me in without an appointment same day (5 star service). They then discovered many things that were done "poorly" by the non-professional bike shop who assembled my brand new bicycle 3 weeks ago and made adjustments, including adjusting the brakes and tightening handlebars, among other things which were loose to my surprise. They showed me it could have been assembled better and some things were really sketchy. I was basically driving a moving hazard on wheels and didn't realize. It was pretty dangerous to be honest. They definitely saved my life by addressing the issues! Whatever they did to the brakes, they work 1000 percent better now, way more responsive than before, night and day difference, which is weird because it's a brand new bike. I can stop on a dime now, which before I would have to come to a slow stop. Not sure what they did, but they know what they are doing in terms of doing a "tune-up". They only charged me to install the brakes (very reasonable) and didn't charge me for any of the extra stuff they fixed, including adjusting the brakes to work as they were intended. So nice, very kind people!! Thank you Raffis! Will be back many times to come. read more

Well, I came in w my ebike & did what was recommended to check w a bike shop to see if assembled correctly. So theres usu 2 guys there when I go, some bald dude that seems a lil more friendlier than the dude that seems in charge. Well the dude that seemed to be in charge checked my bike out & tightened the handle bars for me which indeed needed tightening. Cool, tightened, shot em a lil$ for the trouble. Came in another time for some gloves & inquired about adding some pegs which he gave me a hard no u can't install bc of the motor. Ok fine, did a lil digging & found a peg solution myself installed it & everything. Went for a 3rd time to get a headlight bc mines came off while installing a carriage for my dog. This time the bald dude helped me which was cool bc the other guy really seems like he's trying to push me out the door. Well that's the energy I feel from him.. anyway the dude in charge took over the sale & ring me up & was $10+ this listed price said it was tax. Ok fine. Now I did do these purchases in haste bc I'm excited to hit the road & didn't realize that I could've totally got a light just as bright for MUCH cheaper on Amazon as well as the gloves. I literally live down the block, I've never gone to the bike shop but have had my bike repaired before when the owner worked at performance bike shop. His service was always consistent and reliable. I've recommended this shop to several people down by block with mixed reviews. I called today not to ask for the bike to be repaired immediately, but just ask when they can get it done (this was especially important since I am moving by Friday) I immediately arrive and the employee starts to go off about he can't get it done immediately and that he has too much work to do. (but I never asked to get it done immediately, I would of been okay with getting it next week even, especially after a move) I will never be returning to this business. A lot of smaller company are struggling and this guy is complaining about having "too much" work. I'll take his job, just train me. read more

Everybody that works here are awesome people. They are knowledgeable, professional, kind and patient. The prices for bike tuneup, parts and items are very fair in my opinion. They are easy to talk to if you have questions, and they will not be shy to tell you that something is not worth it - may it be part upgrade ideas or bike buying ideas. Parking is a little tough, but if you circle around the block a couple of times, you'll usually find something. There is a supermarket across the street if you want to risk a tow, but I would usually find a street parking after one or two rounds around the block. I have had both my mountain bike and road bike serviced here and I have so far been always happy with the service. The person that usually helps me out is Harry. He is a cool dude. If you're in the area or even if you're a little far form this place, I would still recommend you give them a try. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I took my e bike in for brake pad falling off and rattling fork. Guy estimated $40 for bleeding out hydraulic front brake and installing pad for the brake. He added some grease to my chain and added a ring for the stem for handlebar. All issues were addressed in less than two and half hours for $40. Very satisfied! read more

I pulled my bike out from the basement today and decided it was time to get the tune-up that I had been procrastinating. I moved to the area a few months ago, so I figured I should try a spot close by. Raffis was helpful over the phone and luckily they weren't too busy today. I live in South Pasadena, and I had a minor gear/derailleur issue on my 1981 Miyata. On the recommendation of a friend, I called these guys up since they were close by, but i figured that I'd have to schedule a time to drop the bike off (during the pandemic, my understanding is that bike shops are notoriously slammed). The guy on the phone said, "Nah, we're pretty chill today, bring it on in." I immediately went down there and he fixed my derailleur within about 7 minutes. He charged me $15; more than reasonable. I was willing to pay with a card, but i also had a $50, and for some reason he was unable to get the card machine working and didn't have enough change, so he discounted it to $10! I told the guy I owe them $5 and whether he liked it or not I'd be bringing it in to square up. In the meantime, I figured it would be nice to write this review. Please support these guys. Took my mountain bike ( Stumpjumper ) here to get diagnosed. I did a full inspection of my bike to check that everything was working smoothly and realized that I had two loose spokes on the back wheel. They were super helpful with diagnosing the issue and letting me know what I had to replace. I bought some spokes from another shop and attempted to replace them myself but was unsuccessful. I took my bike back and they told me that the spokes that were sold to me were too short. I would have had them replace my spokes but they did not have the specific length on hand and I was in a rush to ride again. A week later after fixed spoke and setting my wheel for tubeless, my back wheel was not turning freely after I installed it. Took my back to Raffis and he diagnosed and fixed the issue (my cassette was loose). I also had my back derailer adjusted. My bike was out the door in 30 minutes. Great service and friendly staff. There are no thrills about this shop but that's what's great about it! Best thing of all was that what he had charged me for the service was super reasonable. I would definitely take my bike here again and you should too! Support your local business! read more

They have the basic needs covered. Got a helmet, lock, inner tube, chain oil. Very well supplied. If you have a vintage ride try to know as much as possible going in. They worked on my bike twice and never mentioned the cable guide was broken. Said it was 'adjusted.' Finally found a replacement and put it on. Just wish they were more detail oriented. We had a nice experience here this morning. I brought my daughter's bike in with a flat tire. He quickly got the tire fixed and then noticed that the kickstand was hitting the chain, so he removed the kickstand and clipped off the excess metal and put it back on -for no charge! While the bike was getting fixed, the lady of the shop went out and waited by my van, because I was parked in the red and she didn't want me to get a ticket! Love Raffi's, always feel well looked after and this particular visit / request from them reminded me of that. I needed my bike packed up ready for international shipping. I asked the guys and Raffi's and they quoted me a decent price and went ahead bad did it, using a box and stuffing they already had. Would have cost me a lot just to buy the materials. They packaged it up super well, they were there for me when my plans went array, looked after my bike until the courier came to collect and stuck all the shipping labels on as needed. When I got my bike back it arrived perfectly, no harm and I was so, so happy If you want to be well looked after with your bike, go here! I bought my bike three years ago and have always been to them for check ups etc. read more
