Great place. It's such a specialized spot with skillful guys. Freddie is extremely honest. I asked about the condition of my bike and the gear I had, and he didn't push any major service. Gave me an honest assessment. I like that they are a spot that specializes in repairs etc and because they don't have a retail part, they really aren't incentivized to try and sell you bikes etc. Just a very honest shop that wants you to be safe out on the road. Took my bike here to get a new cockpit installed, I had heard good things about it. Left very disappointed. They broke my derailleur hangar, charged me for bike tape when all they did was remove it from my old cockpit, the aero bars were on crooked, they didn't want to adjust anything since they wanted the fitter to do it, so everything was loose and had to get it fixed elsewhere, my cable pops out from the bottom of my bike when it didn't before, I was given one price to begin with, I was told, "if you get here first, we'll work on you bike first" I got there before both employees did and I was there for over 3 hours. My bike was not the first one to be worked on, I was told to come back in an hour and it would be done. I came back in an hour and my bike was still sitting outside, it had not been touched. My bike had just been serviced prior to me taking it there, I had just bought it, so none of the issues they mentioned should have even existed. After paying more than 2x times what I was told, I swore to never go back there. This shops tends to break more than they fix. I hate writing negative reviews, but after having a friend go there more than 3x for the same issue and then not fixing it and blaming her for their negligence, I thought I'd write a review so others are more careful and more attentive. I will not be coming back here and I will be sticking with my local bike shop, Incycle Rancho or Chino. read more

When I stopped in with my wife's new ebike to have them check alignment of the hub, they were quick to speak with me even though they were on task with another bike. Very exceptional customer service. These guys care about bikes and about the bikers. I put in a new innertube on my son's bike and was having issues getting the rear wheel attached. I brought it to the shop and the technician quickly attached the wheel and also adjusted the rear brakes. When I tried to pay for their service, they declined and said I was good to go! I have nothing critical to write about the shop. I have never had a bike shop pick up my bike and offer to deliver it to me. They won me over with that. This is my new bike shop for sure. Mark kindly explained so much about what I could do to upgrade my old bike. Now I don't feel like a loser for not buying the latest bike with all the bells and whistles. In a day and age where finding excellent customer service feels like looking for the holy grail this is an oasis of the kind of customer service I remember being the norm. From going above and beyond in the form of keeping his doors open just long enough to allow me to drop off my daughter's bicycle to the attention to detail in the work he performed in fixing her front brakes and his level of knowledge in doing it right. I had taken the bike somewhere else and sadly it was a waste of my time and money. Night and day difference just by looking at the bike now and the feel of the brakes which is a safety item and something you wouldn't think another shop would play around with, actually brake as they should now. And this is for my daughter who is a child. How the other shop thought ot was acceptable to do a halfed job is beyond me. Thankfully people like Mark are still in business and doing awesome work. This place is great! I bought my bike brand new last year, but was ready for some changes. Freddie swapped out my crankset, removed some extra brakes, trued my wheels, and even noticed that my bike had the wrong size chain. He took care of everything and it was ready the next day. Also very reasonably priced. My bike now rides so smooth and quiet, and I notice it every time I hop on! If I ever need anything, I'll be coming back to UBG. Found my spot. read more

These guys are great! I have been taking all my bikes to Freddie for a couple of years now and he always shows the utmost care when working on them. Recently he replaced the shifters, crankset, brakes and installed a new Stages power meter on my Cannondale SuperX and did a superb job. I discovered UBG at the Tour de Palm Springs Bike Ride last February 2023, they had a repair booth (Mark & Freddie). Mark worked on two of my friends bikes and watched Mark do the repair/adjustments. He was very thorough. So, when I had my old bike upgraded with Ultegra Group, I made a reservation with Freddie to install, Freddie accommodated me because I live 38 miles away (South Bay - Torrance/Carson) from their shop and i didn't want to leave my bike over the weekend and drive another 76 miles round trip. He worked on my bike as i waited. Very impressed with his quality work. Even though they're far from me, i will take my bike to them for adjustments/repairs if necessary. I will be upgrading my other bike soon, so UBG will be my choice. There are other bike repair shops near me but I want quality work and done right, I'll go the extra miles .
