Superb customer service. To me the best bikes in the world. North Hollywood is lucky to have such an excellent bike shop. I am grateful.

Here is the simple, unadorned truth about this bike shop: It's definitely one of those neighborhood…read morebike shops for the working masses. The 1st thing you'd notice as you drive down Garvey Ave looking for this place is that the sign is missing a name. In fact, there isn't a sign at all over the small shop but 2 words painted on the side of the stucco building that reads, "bike shop." Not Bi Bike Shop or its previous name of Pepe's Bike Shop, just the unassuming "bike shop." What did Steve Jobs say about simplicity? Yes, that it's the ultimate sophistication. The owner must be an Apple fan. The inside of the shop is, well, lived in. Yes, I'll stick with that term. The carpeting, racks, display cases, etc, have seen better days. There are used bikes on racks, leaning against walls, hung on the ceiling, etc (more focus on etc.). Okay, I don't mind how the place looks. I mean, if you've gone into any of the mom & pop Chinese restaurants along Garvey Ave., Valley Blvd, Atlantic Blvd....you'd know what I mean. Generally, the Chinese don't really care about decor. It's all about practical applications. Just as long as the price is right and the goods/services are reasonably good then it's all good. And that's exactly what you'd find at Bi Bike Shop. it's a no nonsense shop. It's simple. It's functional. It's no frills cheap. And that's why I like this shop.

For context, I'm an ebike rider. I've taken my bikes to hype and bougie shops alike in Los Angeles…read more I live in Temple City now and found this place after doing a quick Google search of the shops near me, but before I went in, I made sure to call and ask if they did ebike repairs, because sometimes you get turned away depending on the model you're trying to get serviced. I have a Snapcycle S1 and an Aniioki A8 Pro Max. The first is a pretty lightweight class 3 model that needed both tires looked at after getting horrible flats, and the latter is a 168 lb big boy that I wasn't sure they'd even want to deal with because of the size. I wanted to preemptively get tire liner in my Aniioki for as much ride security as possible, and I noticed not long after riding the bike that the front tire kept making this awful grinding sound, which I assumed was because I hadn't lined the brake pads up properly during assembly. Not only did the excellent staff here do everything I asked for, but they were patient and understanding when I had questions about anything, and finished exactly when they said they would. It's been months since they worked on the Snapcycle and my tires are great, and a few weeks after they finished with my Aniioki and it's still going as strong as ever with no more grinding noises! Like I said before, I've been to all kinds of bike shops, and this one is my absolute favorite. It definitely has a relaxed and welcoming mom and pop feel, which is great if you're looking for your very first bike or even curious about how to upgrade or repair what you already have. And most importantly, I've learned that the people here are honest and dependable. And add the obvious benefit that they'll service both traditional bicycles and ebikes. But of course, call in before you go to make sure. There's no doubt in my mind that they'll take care of your bicycles like they did with mine. You'll be happy you gave them your business.

These are stand up people. I brought home my 20 year old bike that I got out of my parent's garage…read more For the life of me, I could not remove the clip pedals so I could put on standard flat pedals. Took the bike to Temple City Bike Shop and they were able to remove the old pedals and install the new ones, fix my loose front tire and fill both tires with air, all inside of 6 minutes. Final total? No charge. Looking forward to bringing my daughter's bike in for work in the near future (as a paying customer). This place is a true gem!
