I recently picked up my first mountain bike and upon returning home, I was having some problem with my front brake pads after removing the wheel. With a ride coming up in an hour, I didn't know what to do so I called SGV Bicycles for some help. Henry, who picked up the phone, was very patient and understanding. TLDR: fantastic service and fantastic track bikes. The best you will get in this price range! Long story: I was in need of a new track bike after my precious custom Fuji Track Pro was stolen last week. It was foolishly expensive (~$1500) because building cool and unnecessarily high quality track bikes part-by-part was a hobby of mine 15 years ago. Now though, I just needed something that was decent quality, reasonably priced, and reasonably sexy. I spent a few days looking around on offer up/craiglists/FB marketplace to see what options exist these days. It seemed the sweet spot was between $400-$700 based on things like a new tracklord or used fuji track pro/leader. However the bike that really caught my eye was this weird, seemingly self-made bike called the Raptor (or Cyborg) from SGV bicycles. It had the coolest frame I'd seen in my price range, this awesome 70mm chonker of a rear wheel, and seemed easily customizable to my liking (drop bars, etc). Rather than spend weeks continuing the search for a used bikes (and likely still ending up running into issues with whatever I get) I decided to drive down to SGV (1 hour away) and check it out in person. I was greeted by Zoe at the door who was super friendly. It was a bummer and a little awkward that I had to stand outside, as their showroom is still closed, but she happily tolerated my barrage of questions and brought a Raptor out for me to take a look at. After about 20-30 minutes of discussion--including finding out the frame was designed by Henry's (the other co-owner) brother!--I concluded to YOLO and pull the trigger on the purchase. Henry built it out for me with leader track drops, a 17T cog, and a seat pad at no extra charge. I also added some Wellgo straps for an extra $20. They even worked with me to adjust the seat 5 or 6 times until it was the perfect height. Been riding it every day for a week now and have had zero issues. I will probably replace the pedals with some higher tier sealed cartridge ones soon, but other than that i suspect I'll be riding this thing as is for years to come. Overall I am super happy with my purchase and couldn't recommend SGV or the Raptor/Cyborg more highly! Thanks Zoe and Henry :) read more

They replied after about 30 minutes saying yes they would be, so my husband headed to La Puente to pick up my new ride the next day. Not so fast! Due to social distancing everything is done curbside no one is allowed in the store and these beautiful combinations are custom made so they actually have to be built. I came in yesterday on a Saturday to buy handlebars for single speed bike and picked up a ton of other stuff as I live in HB and wanted to make it worthwhile. I came after work as fedex hub is 20 minutes away while Huntington Beach my home is an hour lol. They are open but for curbside only and also ship online. Thank the Lord for google as that is how I found them via their google shopping ads. They got the best handlebars I seen for fixie and single speed bikes. Vibe: The 2 people helping me were very pro, informative, polite, educational, helpful, and awesome. They were non-pushy and I felt their vibe was awesome. I never had such a great experience buying at a bike shop and what's funny is I stood outside the whole time while they helped me which shows you how good they are. Price: their prices are very good. Definitely helped me balance how my gas consumption to get their . Just FYI, if you want cheaper prices bring money and don't use debit card credit card. I look forward to buying stuff from their website in near future as place is far for me. I might do a bike ride up their using the riverbed and load up on stuff. I was prepared to spend $700 on a frame I really wanted but could not get them to answer any questions, so I took my business elsewhere. I've never encountered a business that so badly avoided wanting to make a sale. As much as I wanted to buy the frame they had and support a small business, I could not support a business with such lousy customer service. I get it it's pandemic season but they left a sour taste in my mouth. First the buying experience. They told me to show up one day, I showed up, oh sorry we're in lunch time. I left cuz I'm not just going to wait there. So I had to return another day. That alone right there is a waste of time. The bike Very nice bike I must admit but very cheaply made. Why cheap I say? Instead, save your gas and put it towards a sharp looking bike tailored exactly to how you want it.
