After spending several hundred dollars at La Mirada Cyclery, the service wax minimal at best. Luckily I got a flat on Greenway Trail and had to stop at Frank's to fix it. Since this was my fifth flat in 2 months I was more than frustrated. It turns out I needed a new tire which was contributing to my flat tires. Why didn't the other shop tell me that? We discussed my options and Frank let me know that the railroad puts thorny debris on the trail, making the trail look carefree and safe. We have two small mini e-bikes that needed a small routine tune-up and one e-bike that needed the tube changed on the front tire (12.25). When asked if they could change the tube for us, his response was "We don't have anything to do with e-bikes and I can't help you!" Basically, all we really needed was the tube changed. A flat tire has nothing to do with it being an "e-bike." All the other local bike shops located in close proximity could help us so we went with them. My first experience here was about 2 months ago when I need to get an inner tube for my son's bike. We brought it in and he fixed it immediately and also made some other minor adjustments at no charge. I immediately felt very comfortable with the owner Frank and was grateful for his help. A week ago I decided to return to Franks. My two daughters have out grown the "little kid" bikes and were wanting to up grade. I took them into Franks and they loved it. I left the bike and they called me to pick it up a couple of hours later. For $50 it seemed like decent deal, but also a missed opportunity. As a mountain bike newby, I was hoping for some advice, maybe a little adjustment of the bike to fit my height and leg length, etc. Some tips on what gear to buy...like a lock, a carrier bag, a better seat.
