Nate took care of me starting from my phone call and it extended unto the shop visit. He replaced my chain and re tuned my rear derailleur (sram gx eagle axs) now its shifting better than it was new. Thank you Nate and UBG. I will be back.

Mark and the crew at unchained Rock! They help you figure out what you want and have integrity about what they charge and what you need. Reliable, adaptable, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Thank you guys for taking care of my old Santa Cruz with such great care and efficacy!

For context, I'm an ebike rider. I've taken my bikes to hype and bougie shops alike in Los Angeles…read more I live in Temple City now and found this place after doing a quick Google search of the shops near me, but before I went in, I made sure to call and ask if they did ebike repairs, because sometimes you get turned away depending on the model you're trying to get serviced. I have a Snapcycle S1 and an Aniioki A8 Pro Max. The first is a pretty lightweight class 3 model that needed both tires looked at after getting horrible flats, and the latter is a 168 lb big boy that I wasn't sure they'd even want to deal with because of the size. I wanted to preemptively get tire liner in my Aniioki for as much ride security as possible, and I noticed not long after riding the bike that the front tire kept making this awful grinding sound, which I assumed was because I hadn't lined the brake pads up properly during assembly. Not only did the excellent staff here do everything I asked for, but they were patient and understanding when I had questions about anything, and finished exactly when they said they would. It's been months since they worked on the Snapcycle and my tires are great, and a few weeks after they finished with my Aniioki and it's still going as strong as ever with no more grinding noises! Like I said before, I've been to all kinds of bike shops, and this one is my absolute favorite. It definitely has a relaxed and welcoming mom and pop feel, which is great if you're looking for your very first bike or even curious about how to upgrade or repair what you already have. And most importantly, I've learned that the people here are honest and dependable. And add the obvious benefit that they'll service both traditional bicycles and ebikes. But of course, call in before you go to make sure. There's no doubt in my mind that they'll take care of your bicycles like they did with mine. You'll be happy you gave them your business.

These are stand up people. I brought home my 20 year old bike that I got out of my parent's garage…read more For the life of me, I could not remove the clip pedals so I could put on standard flat pedals. Took the bike to Temple City Bike Shop and they were able to remove the old pedals and install the new ones, fix my loose front tire and fill both tires with air, all inside of 6 minutes. Final total? No charge. Looking forward to bringing my daughter's bike in for work in the near future (as a paying customer). This place is a true gem!

The selection of designs is solid, and it's actually nice to be able to compare different options in one place. Service was great too, very helpful and polite. If you're shopping for hiking shoes and want to explore a few brands instead of just one, this is a good spot to visit.

I've used REI's trade-in program several times in the past at multiple locations and always had…read morepositive experiences, so this visit honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. I brought in several items from brands that REI actively carries/sells, including Patagonia, Columbia, and Merrell. In the past, employees would inspect the items, check the tags/models on their tablet, and let me know what qualified for trade-in, regardless of whether I originally purchased the items directly from REI. This time, the first employee I spoke with immediately dismissed my items without even looking at them. Instead, she only checked my REI purchase history/account and said none of the items matched my purchases. I clarified that I was not making a return and that I was using the trade-in program. She then changed the explanation and stated they were only taking items from the last 5 years, but still would not actually inspect the items or tags and just said none match my purchases. I had never had issues before regarding items only being from REI and their policy doesn't differentiate the trade-in program being exclusively REI purchased items but rather brands they sell. The interaction felt dismissive and honestly uncomfortable, especially because it was completely different from every prior experience I've had with REI trade-ins. What made the experience more frustrating is that I got back in line since my husband was buying shoes and was helped by a different employee, who handled everything the way I've experienced in the past. She actually examined all of the items, checked them on the tablet, explained which items qualified and which didn't, and ended up accepting some items. I understand policies can change, and I completely respect if certain items no longer qualify. My issue is more with the inconsistency and how differently I was treated by two employees within the same visit. The second employee was professional, transparent, and helpful. The first interaction felt rushed and dismissive, and it really soured my experience with a store/program I've enjoyed using for years. This location seems to have been going downhill in their customer service too judging by the most recent reviews too. Not a good look.
