She came out and measured our kitchen then transferred the information to a computer design so we could mix and match our ideas. She walked us through cabinet styles, finishes and options, as well as counter top materials and finishes. After putting up with our changing our minds every other day we finally got our plan down. She then helped us connect with a cabinet installer and met him at our house to go over every little detail (they figured out filler panels and spacers and that we needed a soffit(?)) I would have never gotten this all correct. She helped us find a contractor to do the needed work. Her vast knowledge from years of experience and easy going personality made what very often is a traumatic time go pretty smoothly. For the second item I requested a metal frame. Henri mentioned that the metal frame would cost more than another material due to the added difficulty working with metal. Still, I opted for the metal frame given its depth, as the first view of the piece would be from the side when entering the room. Henri noted that it could take up to 2 weeks to complete the job, but that he would try to get to it sooner. 4 days later I received a call saying that he had completed the job, that it had turned out very well, and that he was eager for me to see it as soon as possible. He genuinely seemed quite excited and pleased with the result. I could hear in his voice how happy he was with the finished product. When I arrived I could see why he seemed so excited. The completed frame was flawless. And looking at the joins, I instantly recognized why he had cautioned me about the added cost associated with a metal frame. With metal, any nick, chip, or the slightest misalignment would be immediately obvious due to the contrast between the black paint and the lustrous metal underneath. Scrutinizing each of the corner joins of the frame I was unable to find even the slightest glimmer of bare metal. The precision of Henri's work was phenomenal. Each corner is joined perfectly. The frame truly looks like a single piece of metal. It is evident that Henri takes a great deal of pride in his work, which I feel to be the marque of a true craftsman. Latta Interiors is now my sole choice for custom framing. Of final note, I also appreciate that Latta Interiors is a local, family owned business.

I paid an additional $1650 for revisions because the first boards were not at all the level of design and expertise I was expecting from a "team" of designers. They turned in a completed board without ever checking in with me throughout the process or even asking if they were headed in a right direction. Turns out what they did was not at all what I had in mind for my space and I did not like the final design. Very hard to believe a team of professionals is operating this company. I paid an additional 1650 for them to improvise and revise their work and the project was terminated because they did not like the feedback I was giving them. At one point they said "there is nothing that can be done in this space". What are you paying a designer for if they cannot come up with solutions? Overall very dissatisfied with their work and customer service. A waste of valuable time, energy, and resources. A poor name to the designers and creatives that do good work in the space. Do not trust this company with e-design or any other business for that matter. I'm currently waiting on a refund and termination agreement that has taken them well over 30 days to complete. How is that possible?! Very very poor work standards. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my experience or have experienced something similar. I have hired 1st Stage for multiple properties over the years. In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.
