I have come to here many many years I used to live right across the street. It was easy for me to send the kids over to get dinner or something at night. They're always affordable. That portions are very big so typically I can get one combo plate and because my daughter was young I could split one combo plate with her and get a second one for our son and save some for later the food always comes out hot and fresh. You have to wait for it to be cooked. There's nothing pre-done And it's always quiet they are. They only have about four tables 4 or five tables of four that's why it's good to take it out and bring it home but it's never super busy and everybody's always kind explains everything if they're out of something to let you know but it's just a good neighborhood place is worth the money. read more

Imperial Dragon is nothing short of a local treasure. I've been dining here for over 40 years, and that alone says everything you need to know. In all that time, the recipes have never changed, the quality has never slipped, and the experience has remained consistently excellent. That kind of longevity and reliability is incredibly rare--and Imperial Dragon delivers it effortlessly. The food is outstanding across the board. Every dish tastes exactly the way it should: familiar, comforting, and expertly prepared. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and you can tell everything is made with care and pride. This is classic Chinese food done the right way--no shortcuts, no trends, just perfection that has stood the test of time. Service is always warm, professional, and welcoming, adding to the feeling that you're dining somewhere special rather than just grabbing a meal. Imperial Dragon isn't just a restaurant; it's part of the community and part of decades of memories for so many people. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in the area, but none compare. Imperial Dragon is, without question, the best Chinese restaurant around. When a place stays this good for over four decades, you know you're experiencing something truly exceptional. read more

Don't sleep on the Imperial Dragon ! I Havnt been in awhile and forgot how much I liked it Classic old school Chinese food. Well done.

My last try got egg foo young d7 got a 3" piece of egg foo young fried rice was burnt beef teriyaki was burnt. Egg roll was not edible. This was pick up and was supposed to be lightly done . Never again I will ever go to this place of horrid food. read more

Their menu is huge & if you read the whole thing you find more things than you could squeeze into one lifetime. They do good work and quality is excellent; people as nice as can be. Some people think "Cantonese/Hong Kong" style such as Chow Mein is very ordinary & generic. It is. But if they do it great, that's just fine. They got the best Chow Mein (SOMEbody has to be the best) & they pack it perfectly so it soaks into the noodles just right. The wide range of other items is/are all great...Prices reasonable and portions generous. read more

This place has been my go to for so many years. I don't think they care anymore. You place an order and you get what you get! I'm going to frequent House of Fortune that they compete with now. Maybe the lack of customers will wake them up read more

Basic mall court Chinese take away cuisine in a small strip mall with questionable cleaning atheistic. You can do much better in the area than this 1970 era American style Chinese food. read more

This place is a family-run hidden gem! Every time I'm back in MA from NYC, this is a must. NE Chinese food is a treat. And these guys are always so fresh. They basically cook your order in front of you. Reasonably priced, excellent portions. Just stellar! read more

This is my go to place for perfect American Chinese. It's always fresh I haven't ever had a bad meal here. You might get some negative nellies here about the service or something else but I suggest you give it a try... you can eat in. They have a couple of tables but it is mostly to go. I often eat in and then take home the leftovers.. there are always plenty with the potions being generous. read more

This used to be our "go to" Chinese every time we came in from Texas. It was the best around, bar none. For the past few years it has been unrecognizable and inedible. We tried, again, tonight. Horrible Beef w Oyster Sauce, Shrimp w Lobster sauce tastes and smells like iodine, watery, tasteless duck sauce and the saddest of all was the fried rice- which used to be so good. Boston Chinese food is unique. it's special. Don't disappoint yourself with this sad imitation. What the heck happened?! New owners? New chef? Cheaper ingredients? So disappointed. read more

First time since Covid and without question the last time for me :( King Pao chicken has little taste and mostly celery , I had to look for the chicken , egg rolls were horrible and had a frozen taste to them and the final was they now charge for rice , it was free with any entree like it is ever where else . Was looking for a great experience like I have had for years but 3 strikes and at a very heavily inflated price and you lost me :( Hate to see this but there are several other local places instead .... read more

This used to be my go to place for chinese. Great portions and reasonable prices. Last time we did a delivery, the guy delivers, with no mask and no gloves, and yes I had on my mask and I had a tip of 7 dollars for him, when I saw no mask I took back the entire tip, I almost sent back the food, but I was hungry and I trusted the restaurant themselves to prepare and pack the food by covid standards, and I washed everything down. I won't be going back. read more

The food was good but chicken fingers were crispy and the boneless spare ribs were well done this happen 3x so I think it went down hill from years ago read more

Not the best but what does one expect considering the local and prices. Alway hot and delicious. If you're looking for a classy place don't come here but if you want good inexpensive oriental food, give it a try. read more

A mysterious menu, with the standard fare for the appetizers and ear worm crowd, but the superior menus for the hard soul.

We get takeout almost every weekend. It is very good. We were disappointed this time. chow mein noodles were stale, crab ragoons were not fried enough, and the chicken wings were just OK. I guess it was just an off night. We will be back. read more

For the past couple of years, my family and I have ordered Chinese takeout food from Imperial Garden, Plainville, MA for Christmas dinner. The food order in the past was good and we ordered our Christmas dinner again this Christmas. Our takeout food came to $190.00. We were very, very disappointed with the food this year. I also noticed the price of their food has greatly increased. Our order included an order of Peking Ravioli which was dry and burnt ($9.95), the chicken wings (2 large order @ $12.95 each) was very dry, hard and appeared to be recooked, the beef and broccoli (2 large orders @ $14.95 each) was all broccoli and there was hardly any beef. AFTER SPENDING $190.00, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD WE RECEIVED!!! May not return order our dinner next Christmas. read more

Believe the one star reviews! This is the WORST Chinese food I've ever seen. I had to throw it out. Disgustingly inedible. Looked and tasted old. Took one bite of each dish I ordered. There are too many great places out there. Go to one of those and skip this one. read more

Unfortunately this was always our go to spot but In The last year or so the food has not been that good. Last night was our last try. For close to $100 the fools was over cooked, dry and greasy to the point that most of it went uneaten. I would Have called, but the previous order I did that and it was not nice. read more

We have not eaten Chinese food in many months. We ordered from Imperial Dragon last night for delivery. The delivery was great and the young man that did the delivery was very nice. We had ordered a appetizer platter for 2 and a small pork fried rice which was almost black in color. It was very dry. The remainder of the appetizers tasted old. Everything was really dry and the crab Rangoon did not taste like there was any crab in it. We ate very little and ended up throwing it all out. We had ordered from them many years ago and the food was great. We felt like we had been given left overs or old food. We will never go back. We order in late afternoon. read more

I love this place! aha, well I worked here too :) Pad thai is very good! so is the house fried rice! It's not sketchy if you actually been inside, don't judge a book by its cover! Give this a try! read more

Probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Bland and fatty. Strange, because it was recommended by the locals. If that's what you consider good Chinese food you need to expand out of Plainville! read more

I ordered at 6:09 this evening and was told that the food would arrive at 8:30. I understand being backed up cause it's New Year's Eve but come on!!! We still haven't received our order and it's now 10:49 pm. So now my kids have had no dinner and give hangry a new meaning!! This is rude and unprofessional. We called twice and they told us it would be here soon. Nothing but lies! This is a place we order from at least 5 times a month and our orders are not cheap. I will not order from there again! read more

Never ate here but their promotional vehicle nearly drove us off the road on 93S today. Then he was weaving in and out of 3 lanes of traffic on 95S with a passenger in his back seat. And afterwards the driver seemed pretty pleased at his behavior. read more

Imperial Dragon - Dangerous Driver - Chinese Near Me - Plainville, Massachusetts

This is my family's default choice for Chinese food. It's less oily and greasy than most, the food is pretty good and it's pretty cheap. And it's perfectly clean, I mean I've worked in restaurants before it looks *worn* is all. There's nothing to block your view between the counter and the kitchen so if this is a hang up just go grab a menu inside and take a look. Aside from that, slightly cheaper than most and the menu is standard fare. I haven't used their delivery service before but the take-out is always nice and prompt. read more

This place is great. When we go for takeout...this is where we call. They have always gotten our orders right...the food is fast, and the taste is out of this world. It's also one of the only places where I can get kung pow without celery...and they don't question it... read more

We ordered take-out last night from Imperial Garden. Appetizers: The Peking Raviolis were horrible; the filling was fatty and stringy. The Crab Rangoons were soggy, and the filling tasted like plain cream cheese. Main Dishes: We ordered General Gau's Chicken and Sesame Chicken. The chicken was tough and stringy. Couldn't even tell it was chicken. The Sesame Chicken was drowning in sauce. Overall: Awful. Not sure how this restaurant got 4 stars! We were very disappointed. read more

Are you in the mood for a quick and dirty chinese fix? If so, this place is for you. Plenty of pork fried rice with the dinner and lunch combos. The General Tso's chicken is slathered in sauce to the point the General must've drowned in the salty soy sauce. The crab ragoons are deeply fried and the ribs are the usual red slightly tough textured meat. I like the place so don't get me wrong. It's not the best quality chinese and again it hits the spot for a quick and dirty fix. read more

Apparently at some point they were giving away calendars that had menus on the back, but never put their business name or anything on it. I only found this place because it was the only hit on Google when searching for '"Chinese food MA "Peppers onions Beef, chicken fingers'" Well, just wanted to say, that calendar has been amazing all year, this 2013, and I hope you guys give out more for 2014 soon! -Calendar enthusiast, Scott Nelson read more

Delivery Review: *Friggin' FAST! We ordered with an anticipated 45minute wait. *Your typical "Chinese Take-Out" menu with all the usual suspects - aaaaand French Fries and Onion Rings (...just in case you wanted some of that action with your General Tso...weird). *Good Crab Rangoon (wish that there had been more to the order). *The Sesame Chicken was a little tough (stringy poultry really turns me off). *Delicious Vegetable Fried Rice! And TONS of it! Literally two cups worth! Sorry, Imperial. Bonus points for SPEEDY delivery, negative points for the sesame chicken disaster. Not to worry, plenty of other msg fishies in the sea. read more

I wish Yelp had a zero star option, but that wouldn't even describe how terrible this place is. Don't even consider ordering "food" from here.. These disgusting maggots gave me fried rice and multiple other entrees with not only one piece of HAIR but multiple clumps of hair.. I wish I could get a full refund but they won't answer the phone.. They must be busy brushing and braiding their hair over the microwave quality "food" they are serving.. An immediate shut down of this disgusting pig sty would bring me slight reassurance, this imperial dragon Chinese cuisine is a joke read more

Imperial Dragon - These hairs all over my food - Chinese Near Me - Plainville, Massachusetts

Thank you Imperial Dragon for your amazing service and delicious food. I'm impressed with the authenticity and love that was put into the meal I'm currently eating now. I had to stop and call and commend you and then write this review. I'm shocked to see that there are a few bad reviews. Those people who posted anything negative about what you all do there is an idiot and doesn't know anything about authentic homemade Chinese food. They need a Bruce Lee slap across the face and to be banned from yelp for such ridiculous claims. I WOULD RECOMMEND IMPERIAL DRAGON TO ANYONE I MEET HERE. Thank you again and I will be back for more. Sincerely, The guy with the knife on his belt. read more

First time. Place looks ok, smells divine! Got an appetizer combo: egg roll, chicken wings, chicken fingers and boneless spareribs. Get home with order. NO BONELESS SPARERIBS. wtf! Called and they said oh so sorry! Can you come back and pick up. No, I can't. So they will give me free small order spareribs when I do go back. Bummer man, I really was looking forward to those boneless spareribs. read more

Imperial Dragon - a plate of fried food - Chinese Near Me - Plainville, Massachusetts

I had their "Daily Special" which I chose to be Pad Thai noodles, with pork fried rice and with an egg roll. I also got an order of Chinese vegetable soup. So the soup was good, and the egg roll was so-so. The Pad Thai tasted burnt, as well as the the rice. Sure, I was hungry and it satiated my hunger, but it could have been better. On top of that, the bill was more expensive than other places I've been to where I've gotten more (and better) food. If you're in need of Chinese food and you're really close, by all means, go here. I only went here because other people had rated it well and written good reviews. (Maybe I just went on a bad day...) read more

I hate to ruin the surprise... Drive by this place and images of a greasy old chinese man smoking a butt while adding the MSG to your General Gaos pop into your head. But fight off those thoughts and just make it to the door -- and you shall be rewarded. Now, I pride myself for enjoying more traditional chinese food. However, I can also enjoy well done Americanized chinese food. Let me tell you -- Imperial Dragon does it right. Here's an example -- the Pork fried rice. Its good -- nothing to write home about. You may get it and say -- "Really Mike, 5 stars?" But alas -- now try the house special fried rice!!! Instead of the soy soaked americanized pork fried rice you can get at the mall, you get moist, lightly seasoned rice absolutely overflowing with pork, chicken, veggies, shrimp... This is what my friends from China make at home, and its wonderful. The moo-shi -- outstanding. For a treat, try the salty and spicy chicken wings. They take a bit longer to cook, but I would be shocked if you don't crave them a week later. Steamed dumplings, the shanghai style noodles.... I could go on. In fact, I want to explore the menu more... Everyone there is super nice -- the food prep is quick, prices are great, and everything inside is clean -- despite your second thoughts as you pulled into the Man-Mar plaza. And just to be totally clear, I don't reserve 5 stars for fancy-pants places -- I give them to the spots that I think deserve some credit -- and this is one of them. read more

I use to love coming here to get my takeout. Now that the original guy is no longer there it sucks. Just ordered gen. sau and boneless ribs. The ribs were hard as a rock.
