Near perfect cuisine. Total authentic Asian, always fresh & flavorful. There are a few reviews here who I'm fully confident are disingenuous, perhaps unlawfully slanderous. I would suspect they are content on trying to persuade the public away from a fantastic establishment which prides itself on providing true asian dishes. Captain C or whatever his name is likely more accustomed to pairing an egg roll on a chicken farm than appreciating what authentic food from Asia actually taste like. It should sound an alarm whenever someone repeatedly creates reviews either praising or tarnishing an establishment. It should tell you it's highly personal. Fact is from my personal experience having first dined at Mai Pearl at least 4 years ago and having the pleasure to repeat a genuine excellent dining experience at least once every 6 months when I'm in the area I have yet to experience anything other than great sushi, great entrees, good cocktails & decent enough service in that it's attentive without unnecessarily being interrupted while enjoying the good food & drinks and company I'm with. Please beware there are people on Yelp who's job it is literally to shake down or destroy an establishment. There's plenty of businesses who shouldn't be even opened their so poorly managed while often being unsanitary. This group of owners, managers, whoever they are care far more than most on what it means to be hard working responsible and fair as well as clean. You are assured from the moment you arrive that this is the best Asian establishment in the area and from my personal experience the best tasting Asian food of Chinese heritage that I have personally come across in North America. Mai Pearl used to be a much better restaurant, but unfortunately it feels like it has seriously gone downhill. The food is okay. It is certainly not the best Chinese food around, but it is not the worst either. I do like that they offer combination plates, which is becoming harder to find at some restaurants, and there are still a few decent options on the menu. The biggest issue for me is the overall condition and atmosphere of the restaurant. During my visit there were tiny fruit flies, gnats, or similar small insects flying around the dining room and even in the men's bathroom. That is definitely not something you want to deal with while trying to eat and it really takes away from the experience. Another thing I have noticed is how empty the restaurant has been. The last few times I have been here there have been very few, if any, other customers in the dining room. Obviously I cannot speak to their overall business, but seeing the place consistently that quiet does not exactly inspire confidence. Overall, Mai Pearl is just okay at this point. The food is passable and I appreciate the combination plates, but between the cleanliness concerns, lack of atmosphere, and decline in food quality compared with years ago, it is difficult to recommend. I remember this being a much better place, and unfortunately it just does not seem to be what it used to be. read more

We have been to my pearl many times for their luncheon takeout. This time we ordered their sesame, chicken luncheon, and beef with mushrooms luncheon. For the price, the luncheon includes choices of soup, appetizer, and main dish. You also get a choice of white rice., brown rice, fried rice, and lo mein. We choose the lo mein every time, and there is a lot of roasted pork in there. There is also read more

Great food and kind take out service. They great variety of cooking styles and the food tasted great!

We went to this place the first time after having a bad experience at Conrad's. We walked out of Conrad's after being ignored by the staff. Mai Pearl was almost empty when we came in. The service was quick. The place is clean and well-kept. The food was better than most Chinese restaurants around so maybe this place just needs to get promoted or something for people to try. read more

Decided to give Mai Pearl a try. Was a bit worried when I didn't say anyone else in the restaurant other than two diners. Not a great sign, but figured I'd still give it a try. The sever was very friendly and attentive. He quickly grabbed my drink order and provided a menu. The menu is huge and ranges from sushi to classic Chinese dishes. I went with the house Lo-Mein. I was excited when it came out because it looked really good. Unfortunately, it was the total opposite. The noodles were undercooked, it had no flavor, and the noodles weren't the lomein noodles I'm used to (not a deal breaker). It was really the undercook on the noodles that made this dish unpleasant for me. It did seem like they had a good to-go business based on the multiple pick ups I saw. However, this place is not my cup of tea. They do have a large bar...so I would consider going back just for drinks. read more

The food taste good. The second day was even better reheated. The value for your dollar is good. The reason I'm giving it two stars is due to the way we felt after. The first night me and my partner ate it and about 30 minutes later, felt like we took a sleeping pill. We were wiped out. We both thought oh maybe it's coincidence. That is until today, I was feeling energetic and productive. Ate my leftovers and went back to doing work and within 30 minutes it was like someone unplugged my internal battery. I fell asleep. There was no fighting it. Neither of us had belly pain or anything like that but that was an unusual feeling. We couldn't keep our eyes open. The restaurant was empty when I walked in during lunch time. Staff was very friendly. We had general gau and sesame chicken with fried rice. read more

It's one of our weekly lunch spots, either for take-out or eat-in. I've tried many of the items on the luncheon menu... All have been very good. I've also sampled many of the appetizers all good especially the wings. From the luncheon menu I like how lo main can be selected in place of rice. The soups I've tried at Mai Pearl (hot and sour, egg drop, wonton) have been delicious. No complaints whatsoever on the service; food comes quickly, and Ice water cups stay full (much appreciated when chowing on a spicey selection). read more

I understand that they needed to shut down the on line ordering on New Years Eve, but I ended up walking out of the restaurant that night becaue the line to pick up orders or place an order was very long and not moving at all. It appeared they had an issue with their payment system but also they were just out of it and very slow helping guests. There were several orders ready by the register but nothing was happening. Several workers came up to the register, but the line was still not moving after 15 minutes the same people were at the register. Once the on line ordering was back up I placed an order and it gave me a one hour ready time. Problem was when I picked up the order and got it home, it was stone cold. So the order was sitting there for probably 45 minutes. Can't say I will go there again since I ordered house rice and got pork rice and charged for house rice. No once called to say your order is ready sooner. They just do not care. read more

A long time since we have visited this venue. We have missed the convenience and proximity of a quality Asian restaurant. Well, I am pleased to report that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, in 2 visits, and we will be returning to our weekly patronage. The food is fresh and of high quality. I enjoyed the best Kung Pao Shrimp that I have experienced in quite a while. My wife's Gai Po Lo Mein was of equal quality. We are happy to have Mai Pearl back as our reliable go-to destination. Craig and Kara p.s. also the best Mai Tai that I have enjoyed in ages. read more

I've been wanting to go for a while. A friend recently told me that on Friday nights they have musical bingo. So I said wow two of my favorites in one night. I went the last two Fridays and it's now going to be a regular occurrence. Not only is the food delicious but I've been very lucky winning bingo each week. Their combo plates are a generous portion, and they come with soup. Also for me when I see that lomein is included as well as the option of rice I get very excited. Most places charge extra for lomein which I hate. Lomein does not disappoint. One of the best. It is loaded with pork, onions and carrots, all in a dark sauce. The general Gau's is tasty and has the crispness that most places don't achieve. Also had the beef and broccoli. Beef was tender and not chewy. Broccoli had the perfect crisp. My mom got egg foo young which included two thick pieces and a darker gravy than the traditional brown one. She enjoyed very much and had another meal the next day. She also got the spicy string beans with lomein. Even though it is referred to as spicy, it was not overly spiced. We asked what they were marinated in and were told red pepper flakes and black bean sauce. Chicken wings are super crispy and not small. You get five in an order. Very clean and comfortable inside. All in all, if you haven't been you must go. read more

Decided to try it for lunch one day. We were questioning how good it was based on the lack of customers. The service was not too bad but the food was not good. If you do decide to go do not get the soups they are like jelly and do not taste good. The dishes were not as bad but the waiter didn't even question us even though we didn't eat 3/4 the food. Overall, I would not recommend. read more

This is my new favorite Chinese place. We walked in on a Friday night and we found the atmosphere clean, cool, and pleasant. The staff was very alert and went above and beyond. We have a child and they were super understanding. They had excellent communication and were aware of what foods had gluten (flour vs cornstarch). For the past 15 years, every Chinese place I have to try the General Gao/Tso's. This is the freshest, best tasting food I've ever had. Even the next day it tasted good. I will be back here regularly and highly recommend for anyone. read more

The restaurant is extremely clean with plenty of parking. The sushi was fresh and delicious - we got the lunch special (2 sushi rolls, soup and salad) for only $11, which is extremely reasonably priced! I am giving the restaurant 3 stars because I was not impressed with the soup or salad. The salad dressing was delicious, but the vegetables used were not fresh. I also did not enjoy the egg drop soup, which is usually my favorite soup. read more

This is a big, fancy restaurant to be in a shopping center. They have a big menu, nicely dressed staff... I opened the menu and was surprised to see how expensive it was. I almost walked out. I saw the lunch specials and got two of them for less than an entree. The tuna and salmon rolls for ten bucks. Not bad. Miso soup and a salad. The rolls were small and had half the fish in them that they should have had. The chicken and egg noodle soup had a bunch of vegetables and a little chicken on top of a bowl of noodles and a little stock. I would not have guessed chicken. It had a little sesame oil. That's all I tasted. The food aside, the restaurant is run by an all Chinese staff. The three people I interacted with barely understood me. There were people coughing. My waitress was coughing and no one covered their mouths. She wiped her sniffly nose with her hand right in front of me. Gross. The restaurant was showy. The food was not a good value, and I sat and listened to the staff speaking in Chinese except for one time I heard "Oh my God" and coughing. It was straight out of a movie. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Snowy day and my husband and I needed to get out. We had been big fans of Mai Pearl when it opened years ago and a few years back it went way down hill. My husband's Pad Thai had tiny shrimp, my sushi was equally small. On a whim, we went there tonight. Everything was DELICIOUS! Huge shrimp in his Pad Thai and my sushi was a good size and yummy. Loved the edammame. We plan to become regulars again. Want them to succeed in our little town. Please do patronize. And ask for Chen, the bartender, if he's working. Great guy! read more

Vicki the bartender is awesome! Food is good and I'm told Keno is coming! Sushi is very good and I love the popcorn chicken.

Mai Pearl has decent food but horrendous service which was was indifferent, inattentive, glacially slow, and management did nothing to make good on their mistakes. I had 3 friends with me and I left our table 3 times to go to the front "desk" to address "issues". It started with 20 minutes to get our drinks with no returns to our table to check on us, mistakes were made in our food order that were never corrected and one member of our party never received her meal! In the end we paid our bill and left out of frustration and we did complain to the front desk. I will account for "anomalies or bad days", but there was no excuse for the horrible unprofessional and indifferent service we received!! I cannot recommend Mai Pearl. In Foxboro to anyone for any reason!!! read more

Good food, better drinks . Restaurant appeared to just changed ownership and it's looking good. Definitely worth to make a special trip!

Was our go to place for Chinese food in the area, but that has changed. Placed a very large order for Christmas Eve night. Placed the order 3 days in advance, in store, written down, signed the order form. Called that day to confirm the order and time. Show up at the promised time, line out the door for pickup. Bartender told us the order wasn't ready, somehow they ran out of chicken fingers, phone ringing and ringing with no one picking it up. Finally, after an hour and 15 minutes, the order is ready. I mentioned that they forgot about half of my order, and was told I could wait for them to make it, or take what was ready. People waiting in line told me they placed their orders an hour before via phone and had already picked up their food. Understand Christmas Eve is crazy, thought I was good by planning ahead, but clearly they couldn't handle the amount of orders and were not well prepared for the night. Gave them another try a few nights later, ordered two things of rice and a small appetizer. Woman who answered the phone couldnt have been ruder, was told 20 minutes, and ended up being about 50 minutes wait. Rumor they were going to close, as the husband had passed and the wife could not handle running the businesses. Clearly seems that way now ! read more

I've been goi g to Mai pearl for 5 yrs. At first it seemed great food. As time has gone by I realizing the arrogance of the female staff that sit customers and deal with takeout. Dont call in an order the lady that takes pick up orders cant speak or understand english. (Amands, and the bar staff is not included in this review, quite frankly there probably the reasons people go back there). I've had a few occasions where the food was just terrible not eatable. They never appologise, they are so rude if you give feedback. It's good for once in Blue moon, it.will not be my regular spot anymore. We're just done with bad service and people staff members cussing us out and others in chinese. My BF speaks chinese, call them out a few times. Rude rude rude!! read more

My mother and I ate dinner here between 8 - 9:15 last night and my poor mother has been up sick all night. I haven't felt well either. It's 4:08 am and we are both up can't stay out of the bathroom. Which lead me to come to Yelp and write this review. She had 5 pieces of Philadelphia roll sushi and I had 1 piece. We also had crab crangoons, shrimp shumai, shrimp with vegetable and vegetable lo main. We had equal portions of everything else so the only thing I think could be the culprit is the Philadelphia roll. Don't think we'll be craving sushi or anything in this realm for a while :( ***edit*** Wanted to add in that I was sick from Friday night/Saturday morning until Tuesday. My mom was feeling better on Monday but wasn't 100% and had to leave for a flight as she had a planned vacation! I was finally able to go back to work on Wednesday. Heck of a long time to be sick. It was horrible to say the very least! read more

I went their last night and ordered pu pu plater for 2 specifically telling the waitress I am allergic to shrimp cam I have extra crab Rangoon. She goes no problem. I start eating egg roll and realize I just ate shrimp inside of it. Called waitress over to get manager but sends another waitress and I ask for manager finally a young girl comes over. They offer to make new dish. I'm you don't understand how dangerous this is. So careless people. I ran accross pkg lot to Walgreens to but Benadryl before my reactions got severe. I would never walk back into this place again and if you have any allergies stay away it could cost you your life. If my son was with me and ate that he would have ended up in Er without a doubt even with Epi Pen. HIs allergies are that bad to shrimp and nuts. read more
