First time visiting this restaurant and I've got to say that the food was delicious. I'm a big fan of good Asian Cuisine and usually don't come across many places that I'd take the time to review for others to see. I was definitely satisfied with the taste and portion size at Bamboo House. I didn't order anything fancy, just a typical lunch combo (General Tao's Chicken) in this case. The Chicken was all white meat and very tender. It had a nice thin and crispy coating paired with a tangy General Tao's sauce. The fried rice was very tasty, it had a somewhat smokey flavor to it and was nice and fresh. The egg roll was probably the biggest single egg roll I've ever had and it was hot, super crispy, and loaded with filling. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good tasting and fresh Chinese food. read more

We get takeout from Bamboo House and find their food the freshest Chinese food locally. Their fried rice and lime in is always delicious, just been made, not left over from a day before. All main courses are made skillfully with fresh ingredients. The vegetables are always crisp and we appreciate that( not likening soggy food). The egg rolls and spring rolls are light and tasty. BEST food and Service!! I have ordered food from here more than once lol, it's good so I keep ordering haha. It starts w/the person who answers the phone~every time I call they are polite and repeat what you say to make sure your order is correct. I have some food allergies or sometimes just like a dish a certain way and they always take care of me and my family. I wish I could hug the chefs because the food is just so good! I went to Bamboo House last week for takeout for 6 and we haven't been there in quite some time. We ordered the Chicken and Cashew Nuts, and a Kung Pao chicken and beef teriyaki (worked well for 4 people). Both were excellent, very well packaged and arrived very hot! White Rice was cooked perfectly. One thing you don't always see is takeout food being very well packaged! No in-car spillage and the food stayed very hot but not over cooked. Almost everyone in the town kept telling me to try this place. I was so hopeful and expecting a great meal. I got the General Tsos because I was craving it along with some crab Rangoons. The rangoons weren't bad, but came cold and greasy. (My husband ate those. That is his thoughts) the general tsos was made mild but the sauce seemed like one you buy at the grocery store and the covering has raw flour in parts. Half an hour later i no longer had it in my stomach. Food poisoning. I will not return and will stick to Hong Kong house in Hopedale because I have never had an issue there. read more

Not sure what happened to this place but it has declined badly over the years. We ordered take out from here and it was disgusting. The prices are outrageous and the fried rice and lo mein tasted like it was old and had been sitting around for a while which it probably had. The chicken wings in the Pu Pu Platter were fried together and I question if it was actual chicken. The chicken fingers were overcooked and dry and too crunchy. The entire take out order was a waste of time and money and was a nasty mess. Ordered delivery. The nice lady that answered the phone was very polite and sweet to talk to. The food was really good. Not the best I've had. Now the dumplings they where made very well! I was very happy with them. The soup broth was nice. The chicken in my Kung pao chicken was really good normally I've seen more veggies. It only had celery and water chestnuts and peanuts. And small bits of red chilling. It was not spicy to me, however I'm from Texas and my spicy is probably different. Egg roll was huge and ah take it or leave it. I got the noodles with my dish not rice. The noodles where good. Placed a delivery order which included chicken fingers. Found a human hair in the container and contacted Bamboo House to discuss. We're not going to eat any of the other food due to finding a hair in one of the container. Manager only wanted to credit the chicken fingers even after discussing the fact that there was hair found in the food. We asked them to pick up the entire order and to credit it back, subsequently they hung up on the call. I called back to discuss further and another person answered gave the same answer and hung up. I rate Chinese restaurants by their hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup is a very complex balance of flavors and depending on the restaurant can taste like heaven on earth or like spicy warm greasy loose gelatin. Yes I am a Chinese food snob. I was raised in Brookline MA eating Chef Chang's and real authentic Chinese food Boston's China town. When we moved out to the suburbs I was so sad. Hardly any crime and hardly any good authentic Chinese food. Well, until we went to the Bamboo house. This place reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants in Boston because like back in the city you actually see the employees making the food from scratch. They don't simple reheat frozen food like other places do. Most importantly their hot and sour soup is the perfect texture. Thicker than soup, more like a light stew broth, the taste is a good amount of spicy vinegary goodness, the vegetables are nice and light, the broth coats your throat and heals all ails. When I was pregnant I craved their hot and sour soup. Its really like chicken noodle soup....when you have a cold their is nothing better. Clears out the sinuses! read more

Skip at all costs. I use to eat here almost weekly and moved away. I came back here and got lo mein and I got food poisoning confirmed by my doctors tests. Stay away for your health!! I have been sick for over 48 hours and my test showed I did indeed have food poisoning. I dined in for the first time last night and really enjoy the food and service. Very quaint restaurant. The menu is extensive and offers tons of options. I tried the Two Flavored Chicken which I really enjoyed because one was (General Tao's) sweet and sour with a hint of spice and the other was chicken in a lighter white sauce which made a good balance. My friend ordered the Coral Shrimp which was really good with a nice spice as well. The egg roll was good also. Sometimes places are hit or miss with egg rolls but this was a really good egg roll and reminded me of good Chinese food back in New Orleans. Everything was cooked well...no complaints here. :) The alcoholic drinks were affordable. I wanted something different my usual Mai Tai so tried (can't remember the name of it...something with garden in the name) and it was pretty good. The service was excellent. Very attentive staff. We got takeout due to the pandemic. The Sesame Shrimp was a generous portion of very large shrimp. It was a quite nice dish even if the shrimp were all stuck together. The broccoli was drab looking and without much taste. The Sesame Chicken had a nice flavor but was difficult to eat. A table knife would not cut through it. Maybe a steak knife would have done the job. This is generic Chinese food and might be better when there is dining in the restaurant. With so few customers for a weekday lunch, items may not be served quickly and may become a little overcooked. read more

Overall, the food here is OK. We've done both delivery and pickup...delivery typically takes an hour+ on the weekend, but takeout is much quicker. The food is pretty good, but the fried rice has been relatively dry the past few times that we've had it. I really enjoy their egg rolls! read more

It took us three tries, but we finally found our chinese spot! We haven't been in person, but we've ordered take out food. They estimated 45 minutes for a Sunday and it came within 30 minutes (not bad!). It's good to know that they deliver outside of franklin so it could take some time for your food to arrival, but no worries because all the food was hot when it was delivered. Also, the delivery guy is super sweet and probably one of the nicest delivery people I've encountered lol. On to food! We ordered the chicken & broccoli dinner special with boneless spare ribs and a wonton soup. Everything was hot when it arrived and everything tasted great! No complaints! I should also mention, after our last two encounters with chinese food in Franklin, we figured we would go the safe route with our food options...you can't really mess up chicken & broccoli, but you'd be surprised at what Franklin has to offer -_- Stay clear of Lee's Kitchen! read more

By far the best Chinese food around. The service is unbelievably fast and the food is always hot and fresh... whether you way there or order it for delivery. I can honestly say they have the best General Gau's chicken I've EVER had!!! The chicken is all white meat, it comes out very crispy, and the sauce is amazing! Ordered takeout and told them I would pay cash. Prior to the food arriving I realized that I barely had enough and so grabbed a few quarters. When the delivery guy showed up I apologized that I had $4 worth of quarters along with my cash, explained the situation and still there was enough for a $3 tip. He proceeded to swear up blue streak at me and drive over my lawn while leaving. I called the Bamboo House THREE TIMES asking to speak to the Manager, each time they took a message and she DID NOT call me back. There are many other dining options in this area, avoid Bamboo House at all costs.
