Great lemon donut, super tasty. I liked the crunchy bits. But on the small size, cold from the pastry fridge and cost me just under $6. Also the WiFi wasn't loading any YouTube videos.

One of the many coffee options in Merchant Square, silly had a variety of hot and cold options for you to choose from. While they can get busy, they can get through the line pretty quickly. Both the indoor and outdoor seating are also kept very clean. I got a caramel cream tempesto, which is basically a frappe. It was filled past the top when I got it, which was great because I was sticking around, but if I wanted a lid, I'd probably make a mess. It also turned to just ice when I had about a quarter remaining, which was a bit of a bummer.

It's Illy so those who know coffee know a good thing. I've never been to an Illy caffe before but was happy to find one in the heart of colonial Williamsburg merchant square It's bright, clean, serves amazing coffee, gelato, pastries, and COCKTAILS. Did I mention that you can enjoy an aperol spritz or espresso martini while the rest of your group eats their gelato or brownies? And it's fairly reasonable for a tourist area- $10 for the cocktails and $5 for an iced mocha. Service was fast and friendly. Stop in and you'll appreciate why Illy outshines a Starbucks any day.

Loved everything about this place. For one that HVAC system hits different. It was 90 degrees outside and had to be 68 in the restaurant. It was such a relief from the weather. My iced latte was amazing, I love that when you eat inside they give you real glass. The sweets were amazing. Wish we had one near us in south NJ.

Let me just say this place has a lot of great options to choose from. Unfortunately, I could not sample them all. I took the suggestion from one of the workers and chose the raspberry tart and I got an iced vanilla latte. Iced coffee is not normal go to. I've only had one other iced coffee that was so good that when it was finished I immediately wanted another one. This is one of those. Unfortunately I didn't have time for another. Raspberry tart was real good crust flaky. Great raspberry taste..

This place must be a locals favorite because the line was long and the store was busy! The menu and pastries options were plenty. There's even cocktail espresso drinks. I ordered a decaf iced lavender cafe latte. The coffee wasn't as strong as I'm use to, but nonetheless pretty good. Not sure if their syrups are homemade. There were also milk alternatives like oat and almond. The pastries consists of donuts, bread, croissants and etc. They all look yummy! But didn't try it this go around. I will the next time though. Overall, it's still a decent place to get your coffee fixed.

    Cortado and iced vanilla latte

We chose Illy because Aromas closes pretty early on a Saturday so we easily walked the next block over for our caffeine fix. There was a small line but it moved quickly and gave me time to browse the wares in their glass case. I was surprised to find some delicious sandwiches and cupcakes and baked goods. I went with a cortado at the suggestions of the barista and my fiancee went with his usual, an iced low-fat vanilla latte. His was amazing - as was mine. I like the inside and the decor, the bathrooms were clean and well-kept and it is adjoined to a shopping garden store selling Williamsburg Spa items. Solid experience. They sell Illy branded coffee pods and other wares inside as well.

Very slow, 2000 questions and finally your expresso ! That doesn't taste like an Italian expresso ! Should change their name !

Berry Burrata 3/5 - Not my favorite, but still decent. Asian Chicken Wraps 3/5 - This was okay, just a little too saucy for me. Fried Green Tomatoes 5/5 - One of our favorites. The pimiento cheese paired perfectly with it. Carolina Burger 4/5 - Huge portion, and my son really enjoyed it. 2nd St Burger 4/5 - Another big portion and overall really good. Kids Pizza & Tenderloins 3/5 - Decent for the kids, though the pizza bread was a bit dense. DRINKS Margarita 4/5 Prickly Pear 4/5 Robin really made our experience even better. She checked on us frequently and made sure everything came out right. The portions here are on the larger side, so I'd recommend ordering family-style if you're dining with a group. While we can't promise *you* won't have a similar experience, we can say that in this case the executive chef personally responded promptly to a respectful polite email and then handled it all very appropriately once informed. And for that alone, we revise to 4 stars. Perhaps ours was an isolated incident. Regardless, a big thank you to the executive chef for the response and swift refund. Much appreciated. We *think* any executive chef would want to KNOW what was going on, perhaps in their absence, right? YMMV. Thanks again. ORIGINAL 1 star review: New Years Eve dinner at Terrace Room. The photo shows "pan-seared" scallops with a ... risotto-like substance. Heh. $50. Uh huh. Scallops: No sear. Super chewy. Hard to even cut. Risotto was like mushy oatmeal stuff and zero seasoning or flavor. Maybe something was wrong in the kitchen, I dunno. Ack. We both ordered this and left most of it. Also a bottle of wine (white) that had to be chilled in front of us for a while before the server could/would pour it. Hm. $110 for that. Note: the *service* was excellent! It is never a waiter's "fault" when the food is awful. We tipped the excellent waiter accordingly, BTW. Just sharing our experience at this place on this particular night. Hope it helps. Be aware. Maybe it's "iffy."
