Several years ago I was in a very bad accident and I had to get around on a walker. I came to Illusion for help and I have been a loyal customer ever since. This past week on a visit to see my daughter we stopped by for another amazing service for both of us. scheduled an appt with these folks which they paid no regard to whatsoever. Showed up at the scheduled time (there are only 3 people that work there -shared owners of the business) and saw that they took walk in's before me. Scheduling an appt meant nothing to them. They expected me to wait on them. I also had a mani-pedi with them before surgery, no color on my fingers or toes - still charged me full price even though they no didn't perform half the services. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Disregarding a scheduled appt put me over the edge....never again! read more

This place is great! I went yesterday for the first time and I experienced great customer service. The lady who did my nails (I think her name was Sammy? Or similar spelling) was so delicate and she was so nice. We had a great conversation and I told her how my nails were thin and brittle, and the last place I went for my nails had made them way too thin and made my cuticles bleed badly. She listened to all my concerns and was so careful when using the electric filer. No cuts, no bleeding, great looking nails, that's what I'm talking about! She was also patient with me when I couldn't make my mind up about the color. Best of all, the prices are GREAT! I'm paying around $10 less than the place I used to go to. I came on a regular basis. Pedicure is a waste of money. No massage, just a bit lotion a hot towel for couple seconds. Not doing that again. Nail Acrylic full set -seems to get sloppy too. It's all fast paced. 3 in one salon. Not much attention to detail..fast fast half ass and then you're done. I can invest my money into a salon that still does a good job with pedicure and nails. My fingers and toes were looking like I could swoop out of the sky and snatch food from a lake, so I was super disappointed when my regular salon was at maximum capacity for the day. I went to my car, checked Yelp, and discovered that Illusion Nails was just 1/4 mile up the street. There were just two people working and each of them were finishing other clients when I walked it, so I was able to choose a color for my toes and enjoy a nice soak in the foot bath. The water temperature was perfect. I was a little put off when the gentleman who took care of me put a large bowl of acetone on my lap and told to put my fingers in it, so I could soak off the existing gel polish while he worked on my feet. Acetone is a bit drying on the hands. Nevertheless, the pedicure was decent. He took his time, although I don't think my feet are quite as smooth as what they are when I go to my usual place. I also got a gel French manicure. Again, he did a decent job, but I can see where he didn't thoroughly paint the top edges, which, I've been told, is the key to "sealing" gel nails and keeping them from chipping. When he was done, he slathered my hands with what I believed to be oil and I washed my hands. I'm cautiously optimistic and hoping that this mani lasts at least 2 weeks. After tip, I found this salon to be around $10 cheaper than my usual place, which was a nice surprise. Yes, the salon's decor is dated, but so what? The people are friendly and the prices are more than competitive. As long as my nails hold up, I'll definitely return in the future. Edited on 06/26/17 to add: I took away a star, because the manicure barely lasted two weeks before the polish started to peel. Usually, one of the advantages to getting a gel French manicure is that it lasts a bit longer than colored gel polish, simply because the light color on the base of the nails makes it's harder to see any growth. The pedicure also lasted two weeks, which was unusual for me. I normally get pedicures once a month. I will only use this salon if my usual place is too busy to accommodate me. I guess it's sometimes true that you get what you pay for. read more

I went in for a pedicure and was a little impressed after some of the reviews here. There were probably 3-4 other customers already there. I waited about five minutes for a nail technician to become available (while sitting in their massage chairs with my feet soaking in warm water) and Sammy (spelling?) was very friendly and competent. I had butchered my toes myself while trying to clean them up and she fixed what I though was unfixable. The polish selection is pretty good and my toes look wonderful in my sandals. The pedicure was probably about fifteen minutes which I'm not complaining about as I am pretty busy and had errands to run. Also, PSA: Other reviewers have mentioned there is a sales tax discount for paying in cash. This is no longer in effect, regardless of whether you pay in cash or credit you will be charged the same amount. read more

Good: Service was quick. I arrived around 6:10 p.m on a Tuesday evening. Only one other customer was being serviced. The massage chair was excellent. The polish job on my toes looked well, no smudges. Bad: The service was too quick. My pedicure was only like 10 minutes. I expected like 20+ minutes. The nail technician didn't massage/rub my feet long enough. She spent maybe 30 seconds rubbing it. Also she did not apply any lotion to my legs or feet so I left looking ashy. Conclusion: I'll go back but I'll request a longer session with lotion, if they can't honor my request I'll never go back. They are walking distance to my home so they are worth giving a second try. Next time I'll pay in cash to avoid the sales tax; $25 cash vs. $26.70 debit/credit. read more

I started getting my nails done here because it was close and convenient to my apartment. They are so friendly and my nails always look awesome! I have acrylics so I usually get a balance. I've gone to several other places but Illusion Nails has always done the same job cheaper. They have a lot of regulars in and out of there which is usually a good sign! I suggest making an appointment, they usually only have a few people working and they always have people in there. read more

My favorite place for a mani-pedi. Illusion Nails is close to my house and very affordable. They are also open on Sundays, which has come in handy on several occasions. The owner comes across as rude at first, but it is more a playful sarcasm. They are all really friendly and do a great job. If you pay in cash they will cover the tax. read more

Went with my partner to get a pedicure on a Sunday. The owner/manager did both of us. She was professional, nice and good! We got to soak for about 15 minutes because they had other customers...which was fine with us. She had to remove my big toenail because it was falling off. So disappointed. I came here because it was close to my work and my acrylics had fallen off and I needed a quick fix before I took on old habits (I pick at my nails ) I asked the tech if a gel polish would be strong enough to keep my nails from Chipping or ripping and she assured me gel would be fine even after telling her I was a server. 2 days later my nails are completely destroyed I went in hoping they would pups accommodate my issue with no hassle. The tech who did my nails the first time said that my nails were this short when I first came in and that I was lying. However one of my nails had already tore off so I had her put in an acrylic nail to match the length of all my other nails, after she was caught in that lie the owner or manager was still unwilling or I do anything or accept responsibility. Unfortunately I will not be returning here. I've recently moved from the Pickerington area and decided to find a new salon near me! I was a walk in at illusion. The wait wasn't bad at all and the staff seemed friendly. The shop itself definitely needs updated/re-decorated by far! It reminds me a bit like a 8 year olds bedroom with the bed-like curtains separating the pedicure stations. Any who, my gel manicure took a wopping 20-25 mins. She filed my nails & cuticles, threw on gel and charged me full price. I'm in cosmetology school, I'm aware there's more to a manicure. I got my gels done 3 days ago.. On day 2, my nails have already chipped. Don't bother with this place, they may have a good array of gel selections, but the quality is poor along with the service. ---I also forgot to add that I got the black mood nails that change to grey. I was under the impression they would be black until dipped in cold water, the reality is they are a dirty water translucent grey at all times, and black when cold hits it.. Finally got around to having a pedicure here last week. They have an advertised special of mani pedi for $35, the pedi alone is $25 cash (tax included). Since I'm working in the garden a lot which destroys a mani, I opted for the pedi alone. The lady was very nice, she did a good job, and was quick but not too quick. Having lived in NYC and LA where I can get a mani/pedi for $22, I have been on the lookout for a reasonably priced option here, and I finally found it. A week later, it still looks good. It's true what they say about this place while busy! However, if you aren't happy, they will fix it free of charge! This is my go to place for a manicure, because its so cheap! I got a gel manicure with an accent nail on each hand (my ring fingers have a glitter polish overcoat) and it was going great... Until they got busy. The technician rushed and by the time I was at the sink to wash, she had someone else in the chair. They looked awful. I mean, like I let a toddler paint them. So, I got home and called! Told them who I was, what I had done and that I wasn't happy! They scheduled me an appointment for first thing the next morning and apologized incessantly over the phone. When I returned, my technician (Sonny) kept telling me how sorry she was, and redid all of them! She did a wonderful job this time and told me how much she appreciated me letting her fix it!
