This was recommended from a tour guide and the front desk also gave an ok but it unfortunately fell short. Cacio e Pepe - over sauced with cheese as the pasta was drowning and the balance of pepper to cheese was not proportional as this signature dish of Roma was a big disappointment. Funghi Fettucine- the mushrooms were lackluster and the pasta was not al dente, as it was very poor representation of the local ingredients. The outdoor setting for Corallo is nice and the service was quick but the 2 dishes were unfortunately a poor start to the trip.

My goodness!! AMAZING food and service. We came in just for a midday snack and prosecco. The steam clam appetizer was so big. I couldn't even finish. It was absolutely delicious. My husband had the fried fish. Very generous portions. We of course made room for some crème brûlée and it was perfect in every way. The atmosphere is delightful in here and the staff is very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was veryyyyyy disappointed. My first meal in a Italy and I didn't like it the pasta tasted undercooked and salty. No one liked their food in the group. I wouldn't come back. Plenty of seating, free bread (which was hard and cold), bottled water (have to pay), and nice waiters.

Great location, close to piazza navona and to multiple bars and restaurants. Good ambiance, service was also good. I had a pizza. Nice and thin with a crispy edge. Fresh mushrooms, savory sausage and great tomato sauce. Ate the whole thing, paired up with a cold moretti beer . If you like this review don't forget to click on any of the CFU buttons.

Went here for lunch, got a bruschetta and the cacio e pepe in a parmesan bowl! Both were very good. The girl serving us was nice as well.

Great hidden restaurant, first time we tried to enter it was close to 2pm they were closing, came back at 7pm and restaurant had no lines. After dinner there was easily a hefty waiting line. Food was relly good and tasty, the half a bottle of their home red wine was good. Will come back to try more. Waiters are very helpful and they speak english.

Stopped in on our first night in Rome. We were exhausted after traveling and wanted an early dinner close to our hotel. Il Corallo opened at 6:30 and we were seated immediately. The restaurant began filling up and was completely packed by 7 p.m. Lots of tourists but not a "tourist trap". The food was excellent and we all enjoyed our meal.

Enjoyed the fettuccini with black truffle cream - however saw other diners sending back muscles and clams 3 times - the pizza crust was awesome but it arrived cold. I liked the atmosphere and waiters were great considering level of activity this night - would come back and try again.

Top to bottom: fettuccini alla gricia con tartufo, focaccia e prosciutto crudo di Norcia tagliato a mano & diavola pizza

What a gem of a place. My boyfriend & I were in Rome during a holiday, so many of the restaurants we'd browsed before arriving were closed. We found Il Corallo on Yelp and decided to go for it. Did not have a reservation, but wait time was minimal (2 minutes max). We were seated inside and did have to wait a little before staff approached us, but everyone was very friendly. Between the two of us, we ordered focaccia & prosciutto (I could have left a 5 star review on this alone), fettuccine alla gricia con tartufo (basically cacio e pepe but with pancetta & black truffle cream - flavors perfectly blended) and a diavola pizza (dreaming about this pizza still). We did not know that focaccia = insanely flavored pizza crust, but no complaints over here with our two "pizzas". Everything was insanely delicious - would absolutely recommend! One note on wine - being from the US, we anticipated all bottles of wine to be way overpriced vs market value, but we ordered a bottle of Brunello, priced at 60 euro and when we checked against Vivino app, it showed $60 in the states. Would recommend that top bottle of red on the menu, but more of a fun added fact :)

By far the best meal I had while in Rome - possibly one of the best meals I've ever had! We came here on a recommendation, and ended up coming back two more times. I ordered the Fettucine gnocchi and it was the best pasta I had my entire 2 weeks in Italy. I also tried the steak and potatoes, which was absolutely phenomenal. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is romantic.

Panna cotta with a strawberry sauce...another perfect dish!

Unbelievably great food. Off the beaten path, and pasta dishes were delicious. Try to eat outside if you can!

Everyone needs a trip to Italy, if nothing more than to enjoy all of the food…read more When you've landed, you're hungry, and it's not lunch time, and it's not dinner time, you may end up, selling for whatever you can find is open We were absolutely starving, and wanting to indulge in our first Italian meal, what do you do when you're in Italy?! You may want to indulge in pasta or pizza! We walked in, and we were immediately seated. Air conditioning is nonexistent, and on a hot summer day, it would've been cooler to dine outside. had that been an option, and it was 95° out. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately told that Pizza and some of their baked Italian dishes were not going to be available. Boo. The wait staff seemed fairly nice, and offered to bring us glasses of water. The glasses were super tiny, and thankfully the waitress brought over a carafe of water. We asked for a few suggestions, since both of us had been craving pizza, and she suggested the Carbonara. She said it was one of the best dishes. While we were waiting for our food, several other tables were immediately filled up with other customers, families and friends alike. It was interesting that those tables were served pizza... I'll just leave it at that. The carbonara Was anything less than delicious. We both found the pasta to be barely cooked. Not al dente, but barely cooked. The seasoning was mediocre, and there was very little pork, which is supposed to be the highlight of this dish, in this dish. Diners tip: if you are not a local, keep in mind that your version of Customer Service may or may not fit what Customer Service is in Rome. Despite being hungry, I had a hard time, finishing the food, let alone actually eating it. The waitress only came over at the end to drop off the check, and when she noticed that I had barely eaten anything, first gave me a strange look, and then asked about it. It was definitely one of those situations where saying something was wrong would've been met with unwanted attention. This is in a place to add to your must try list... There are plenty of other places, even in and around this area that more than likely would be a better choice.

Bufala pizza with red sauce and lasagna was excellent. Seating was fast and good serviceread more
