Who doesn't love Ikea???? Cheap prices on decent quality items. I usually come for one item and walk out with about 10 and of course ending with a stop at the food court. I love their storage bags (basically ziploc), but they offer great sized like a 6 liter. I love that size for air popped popcorn. They have great pricea on kids items like $7.99 for a bead maze. That's the best price around and after 2 years my son's is still holding up great. I love their cinnamon rolls and ice cream cones in the food court but I think they changed their hot dogs, no longer all beef. read more

This store is centrally locates and very convenient to reach to. Their customer service is second to none! They are all about your satisfaction 100% of the time. In fact, Jermaine and Jasmin at the return department went way above and beyond their calls of duty in attempting to keep us VERY happy. My friends and I appreciate their courtesy, professionalism, and eagerness to serve us. Those two are truly great assets for this Ikea store and I'm sure the rest of the employees are also great. This Ikea is not as big as the Ikea back home in Las Vegas, but it has all the items that you could possibly expect from Ikea that you need to make your home life more comfortable and look better. The food court here is about 1/10 the size of the ours in Las Vegas (or possibly smaller) but offers the same satisfying, value-priced meals. I can't really say anything about Ikea that most people don't already know. It's a worldwide brand that most people in developed countries have witnessed. Still, with this kind of ubiquity one can appreciate their consistency, in fact it's probably what keeps them brand and margins alive. The showrooms all look nice, the furniture itself is ok, better I'd you don't get the dirt cheap stuff. But that is no excuse, I've had Ikea stuff last for 10 years + of you take care of it. The worst shopping experience of my life! My order is a month out; no customer service at all to make any resolutions at all. They created a case file after they said they loss my order over $1800 and then never reviewed or called me. A week later, I called and they said they found all my stuff and would expedite the shipping the following day. Well, nobody showed up! Again! Now, I'm on my fifth representative and managers mixed with 30 minute holds and when they realized they losses my entire order - they don't offer me a discount, gift card, delivery or pickup resolution, they just hang up on me!!! It's amazing! I will never walk into crap of a business again! My wife and me are living in boxes after our move into our loft... after explaining that to reps... there was no empathy or care about what they have been doing to our life. I love IKEA. I've never had a problem even remotely like the ones I read from people who had problems with outside delivery companies or customer service, either on the phone or in store. When we need anything furniture related, sometimes kitchen things, IKEA is one of the first places we go and usually buy something from them. Their prices, style, selection is good and I like the do-it-yourself assembly because it's not difficult and it saves me so much money. Our most recent trip we went because I specifically needed a new bed pillow. My older IKEA pillow needed to be replaced. I got a super comfortable, non allergic (not down) queen size pillow for about $15. I could feel all the display models and easily found the thickness/softness/firmness that I like. We ended up getting glass tea light holders, kitchen towels, lint roller refills, a table cloth, and some other things, all priced low! Didn't leave without going to the food area past the checkouts, too. Ginger cookies, Lingonberry jam, crisp bread (two kinds), frozen meatballs, and some seafood items. Almost forgot: we had a nice lunch upstairs in the cafe and saw some mod looking light fixtures downstairs I might have to go back for, plus in the clearance area they had a really cool, orange leather love seat on sale for only $250! The clearance items usually have some dings or cosmetic damage but if someone was looking to furnish a first apartment cheap, that's where I'd go first. read more

I believe the workers there make a point of accusing customers of lying, and using intimidation tactics to get customers to pay more than they should. This is just ONE example of what I'm talking about: I was on the floor looking at chairs, and noticed that a kind of chair I wanted had a sticker price that was less than what was listed online. I asked a salesperson about it, someone who was working the floor; she took the ticket off the chair, told me to bring it with me when I check out, and the check out person will give me the discount on the chairs I buy. Now here's the thing: I took a picture of the floor salesperson holding her Ikea name tag...because workers there have accused me of lying before about these kinds of things. Well, I brought the chairs and the ticket to the register, and the "lead" there told me the ticket was no good. She basically accused me of creating it myself! When I told her I got it from the salesperson upstairs, she asked me who helped me upstairs...I think she assumed I wouldn't know the salesperson's name, and could accuse me of lying about that, too. So when I gave it to her, she was surprised. There was a pause then like she was trying to figure out what to do...she got on her radio, and asked someone "upstairs" if someone by that name works there. I could not believe it--she was now accusing me of making up the whole encounter! And to make matters worse, the person on the other line said "She doesn't work there anymore"! I was in SHOCK. So I pulled out my phone, and showed the "lead" the picture I had taken less than an hour previously (the picture was timestamped) of the salesperson who helped me, and told her that if that woman doesn't work in the store, she better start checking every single salesperson up there, to see if they're pretending to work for Ikea. Guess what: the "lead" paused, sighed in defeat, and agreed to give me the discount on the chairs. IT WAS A TOTAL ACT ON HER PART, TO SAVE THE STORE MONEY. This is just one example of the way the salespeople there lie and manipulate to get customers to pay more. It will be the last time for me, since I'm never going back. When you go, take pictures of the salespeople, the prices, EVERYTHING. Or they will accuse you of lying about product and pricing. read more

I would give zero stars for customer service if I could. I placed an order in April and it was delivered with items missing. I understand in COVID shipping and customer service is stretched thin so I was trying to be forgiving (it is now September...). I have now tried countless times to reach customer service via email and phone. I one time I was able to reach someone via phone they said they couldn't help me but would pass along. Still no response... online you can only contact RE: order cancellation and after selecting options on the phone you are told they have high call volumes and the call disconnects. Let me start by saying I have never left a negative review for anything. The customer service here is very disappointing. My wife and I bought a $300 dresser (Hemnes model) and lugged the thing up our stairs to the nursery. The two of us spent 5 hours putting this thing together. An hour into it, when installing the brace along the top-front of the dresser I thought it was awkward that the brace was painted on the inside side of the dresser and not the side facing outwardly. I gave IKEA design the benefit of the doubt and continued installing. Just as I had feared, 5 hours later the board was not covered by another feature, just showing unpainted. I am extremely careful to follow the instructions and this was the only peice that would fit there - no way I made a mistake. I called IKEA and spoke with the someone who offered to ship out a new dresser and give me a $20 gift card. My wife is pregnant and we are very busy trying to fix up a new house before the baby comes. We don't have time to re-build this dresser. I asked to speak to the manager and got my wish. She continued repeating the same thing over and over that did not make any sense. She was saying that they were "accommodating" me by providing the shipping service that I "did not even purchase in the original deal" and offered me another $20 gift card. My wife and I drove there, hauled the thing to our car, brought it home, and hauled it up the stairs - heavy. We didn't pay for the shipping - we performed it. All we want is for them to pay their installation service to build it, which they offer for ~$90. Long story short, they will not properly take care of a customer when the mistake was clearly on the manufacturing side. I will update this review if anything changes. I love Ikea and our house is full of their furniture, however, San Diego County desperately needs another Ikea in north county in order to serve the area better. The San Diego store serves Tijuana to Temecula and everything in between. IKEA - PLEASE ADD ANOTHER STORE TO NORTH COUNTY! I recently spent an hour in the customer service/returns area regarding a warranty issue that has been unresolved by e-mail -- 27 people were ahead of me! (Unfortunately, the customer service person was unable to help me in person -- frustrating!) Another frustrating thing, is Ikea is constantly running out of or discontinuing that one thing we need. I love the store, the products, the designs, the food, the $1 ice-cream...but where I feel they're majorly lacking is customer service. They are difficult to get hold of by phone. I'm not sure why Ikea gets such a terrible name, they offer some pretty nice stuff for budget prices. I recently moved from HI to CA and needed to furnish a 1 bedroom apartment. Never having been to Ikea I thought I would check it out. First I'd like to say that the parking lot is a hot mess - with Costco, Lowes, and Ikea all in the same strip, it's no wonder it takes 10 minutes of driving in a circle to find a spot. (Pro tip - the library is right next door and if it's closed, you can park there and walk over to Ikea without any issue). Anyhow - the place is like a mix between Costco warehouse and Ashley showroom for furniture. There's A LOT of stuff to see - kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, and accent pieces for all of the above. A lot of it is budget stuff - fiberboard with a plastic outer shell, but I managed to find an entire SET of REAL WOOD (albeit, pine) furniture that looked attractive and met my budget! I bought a bed frame, a desk, a dresser, and a display cabinet all for around $900! And when I finish with this stuff (assembly is a pain, but we'll get to that), I'm probably headed back for a coffee table and media stand! Now, Ikea stuff comes in a square box and it's DIY assembly. The instructions are a small booklet of detailed step-by-step "do this, then do that." Ughhhhhhhh brutal! Took forever to put stuff together, but the finished product is actually pretty nice. All in all, I'm giving Ikea 4 stars - good products, good pricing, a food court upstairs, candy, ice cream, and cinnamon rolls downstairs, but mannnn, parking is miserable! read more

I really don't understand how this company can still on business they have the worst customer service = NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL their website is ridiculous and there's ALWAYS an issue with them. I decided to do my closet now during COVID and I understand stock are limited everywhere but because of that I have to buy all the pieces one by one as they got in stock so I've been going to all the Ikeas close to me several times and trust me ALL OF THEM ARE AWFUL customer service and policies are so stupid! The click and collect service is dumb you can't change the pickup hours if you can't make it or you can't cancel neither! You have to wait for them to cancel it after 24 hrs or more so if you still want your order but you didn't make your pickup on time you will have to order it again while still having to wait for them to cancel your previous order, and by that time chances are that they won't have that product anymore... it's so dumb, why not just let you change the time of pickup??? Anyway this is only one of the countless issues I've been having in my forever purchasing parts of my PAX closet system which I extremely regret have started buying in IKEA. All the workers there are rude except for maybe one... If you ask a question they ALL rolled their eyes (I had to ask question couple of times during my quest to get my parts) and this happened in all the IKEAS (Burbank, Covina, Costa Mesa, Carson and San Diego) yep I've been picking up my parts in all of them! Once you purchase something, you are left hanging out in the wind.....no way to reach them as they run you around and around on their automated telephone systems and then tell you they cannot take your call. Furthermore, I had an order that was cancelled and they tried to deliver it - three days after it had been acknowledged as cancelled. I really liked IKEA and this was my first visit. Like a warehouse ....it reminds me of a very clean warehouse. Sort of spartan but lots of light. The items in the store were unbelievably priced and there are so many unusual items I can't find in a department store. I ended up buying lots of housewares such as dish towels (under $1), pretty decorative glassware, very reasonably priced unusual children's toys, and tea candles with glass holders. There is also a Swedish restaurant where everything is priced under $5. A complete meal. I got the veggie meatballs, which came with rice and mixed veggies. This was priced at $4. I also got one of the sparkling flavored waters from the soda fountain (lingonberry flavored). The restaurant itself has lots of light from large windows, is stocked with white tables and chairs, gives off a very sparse vibe and yet is very clean looking at the same time. Hard to describe. Yes, I would like to return. I think this is a good place to stock up if you are shopping for a child who needs to furnish a college dorm or first apartment or just are on a budget. Very reasonable prices and very good quality items are to be had here. read more

I recently purchased an order worth 562$ (a buffet table and a mirror). The delivery fee (which is included in the price) was 100$. The date my order was scheduled to be delivered, I had a delivery driver drop off an entire for a completely different person. When I made contact with the driver, he told me it wasn't his problem and that someone else probably got my order (no kidding). I've been trying to call IKEA for 3 days and cannot get through due to "high call volume". I also tried to submit an email which shows an error on the site. IKEA in a nutshell is a hit or miss. You either find exactly what you want or nothing at all. Now I didn't find exactly what I wanted for the price range I was aiming for but IKEA is more of an expensive store depending what you plan on purchasing. The customer service is good but not great. It is like talking to someone in Lowes. They know the minimal to help you find a product but not enough to give you a well rounded answer for you to understand why that product is the best for you. As for the product itself; I haven't had any problems so far. I bought a bed frame and was reluctant to use the the wood slabs that they recommend buying. Surprisingly enough it has been a little more than a week and the frame is solid. I gave it a few test to make sure they would be tough enough and overall it passed with flying colors. The stool I wanted to buy was out of stock and we went up to the help center in the self service area to see if they could order one for us and pick it up when it arrived in store (as most stores do this). And the lady at the help counter was completely unhelpful saying she couldn't order it and we had to do it ourselves. She said we should just do it ourselves since we would have to pay for shipping anyway. However, going on their website there is an option to order and pick up from your local store. Tried to order kitchen cabinets for pickup online. This is not allowed, so I drove a long way to get to the store. The store then told me they don't have in stock... order online. My complaint here is that I should be able to order large items for pickup. Given you have to go to the store and give them the same list, then wait while they gather the kitchen cabinets, I would prefer to buy online and save 1-2 hours plus the frustration. Please step it up IKEA. 2 stars because the cabinets are a good product and simple. 3 stars lost because you make it impossible. ----- Updated: After this experience above, I checked out and paid. IKEA then told me I need to drive 10 minutes to the warehouse. I was like, "What?!?! Another location ?!?!" Fast forward, I arrive at their warehouse. Being an east coast girl and growing up knowing of all the good Ikea can do but not having one has kind of made Ikea a God to me. When we first got here, I told Adam we had to have date night at Ikea. He thought I was a bit weird but went along with it. The store is incredibly overwhelming your first trip, and your second trip... and your third trip but totally worth it in the end. If you know what you want or you are just browsing then it is generally fine, but if you are looking around to furnish an apartment and there are so many choices it is overwhelming. The upstairs has all of the furniture laid out in showrooms and with like items. You can find living room sets, bedroom sets, kitchens, and everything in between. Also, the food is upstairs which is incredibly important. The lower level has the random things you may need for your house like place mats, glasses, rugs, art, garbage cans, you get the point. It also has the furniture from upstairs boxed up for you to take to the register. The registers always go pretty quickly. Don't forget your reusable bags for the little things you are buying! After the register is where you can buy dessert after your dinner date. Ice cream, cinnamon rolls and other treats which are all affordable and yummy. Overall, a big overwhelming store that is totally worth it in the end. You can get EVERYTHING for your home! read more

I do have to say my experience with Ikea has been good but their delivery company is terrible. There's a very long story to all of this but in short, I ordered a custom closet. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday and installed. I received a call at 10am letting me know they could get to my place earlier than expected. I was at work but a family member was able to meet them there. I texted and confirmed that they would be at my place at noon. 12pm comes and goes and I call them. They said that the guy who cancelled changed his mind so now I'm back to my 2-6 time slot. No one called or texted me about this. So my family member had to wait in my condo without TV or internet or furniture for 6 hours. Once they did get to my condo, they immediately started complaining. They did some measurements and concluded that the closet wouldn't fit. I ran home from work to find that they didn't open one box with the closet parts. I opened one box, took out the 7.5 foot tall closet piece and found that it would fit with room to spare. After arguing with the installer for 20 minutes trying to inform him and showing him it would fit, I gave up. We went back to Ikea. The people there were very helpful. I got a new drop off scheduled for the next day. I had the same window of 2-6. I get a phone call (from different installers) at 12:15 saying they would be at my place in 20 minutes. I told them I had the 2-6 frame and I would have to leave work and be a little late. They said that was fine. I jump in my car. As I'm on my way home, they call back. Apparently they got paperwork mixed up and they have someone before me now...so I'm back to the 2-6 window. I've pretty much given up on these people. They are rude, unorganized and the reason why I won't get anything else from Ikea. read more

I couldn't find a survey to fill out, so I am writing this review about the great customer service I encountered. Particularly from David who is in the textile/curtain area. We visited on Tuesday(11/7) night around 8pm. He was extremely helpful and enthusiastic with showing us the correct curtains and how to install them properly. We asked questions that lasted at least 20 minutes, and he answered everything with patience and useful suggestions. He also had to handle a situation where two customers were upset over a sold out curtain. He managed the problem efficiently and in a calm manner. Seriously, I hope this particular establishment sees this review because seeing how helpful and kind he was made our night so much better. We got all the supplies needed from the nails to the end pieces, and it was all thanks to David!
