The setup here is very different than most big stores. It's absolutely designed to keep you in the store and to allow customers to see many different items in one area. I came here for some Oftast dishes which are a lot like corelle dishes but much less expensive. I did find the dishes I was looking for but I had a time finding my way out of the store. This gave me more time to see all the cool things IKEA has to offer. I ended up finding some kitchen items I had never thought to look for. Signs pointing to the exits actually do not take you to the exit right away. The signs will take you to what feels like going through a Disneyland turnstile line. Just when you think you're getting out of the store or onto the Disneyland ride you've got a whole other roundy round or two to get through and lots of other goodies to see. This review is for TODAYS EXPERIENCE only. I want shoppers to be aware if you're signed up for their E club you get a $10 birthday reward. I used it today on an item that wasn't in the store to see but had to purchase there I had to go to a warehouse to pick it up. It was much smaller than I thought. I returned it within 20 minutes. They refused to give me the $10 birthday reward back in a digital card. They said when you use it, you lose it even though I DIDNT use it because I returned the item IMMEDIATELY she basically said too bad no exceptions!! Be aware if you have a birthday reward, you better not return any item that you buy it with or you will lose it. I recently spent approximately 4,000 there on furnishing a wall system & cabinet for the living room. Good customer service would have been to put it back on my account it's the principle not the money. read more

First off, I hate shopping. The problem with IKEA is that you have to walk to NYC and back just to find what you need. There's a lot of stuff. Stuff you may like. Stuff you don't need. This is my second time in this IKEA in ten years. The last time I visited, I was looking for furniture. This time, I was just killing time while M. attended a meeting at the library next door. So, I'm not a particularly paranoid person, but I do not like the one entrance / one exit set up that Ikea embraces. I also dislike having to shuffle through the entire store following a circuitous and meandering route. Being stuck behind people with their shopping carts or a clueless family walking hand-in-hand blocking the entire aisle is not my idea of a fun and enjoyable shopping experience. However, if one was to discount those annoyances and embrace this shopping model, IKEA is well-organized and well-stocked with a variety of useful and not-so-useful products & services from furniture, to kitchen / bathroom remodeling, all manner of household goods, fake plants, real plants, and more with a variety of price points from super cheap to reasonable. Of course, the quality of the goods varies but you can certainly find functional, aesthetic and well-made items if you take the time to do so. I saw employees in the store, but not a single one interacted with me. I had to use self checkout for my random purchases (chopsticks & heart cookies) as well, so there's that. I'm certainly not leaving feeling like customer service is any sort of priority for them. Parking is tough. Nice restrooms & restaurant / dining area for the famous Swedish meatballs & other little treats. As long as you gird your loins prior to an IKEA shopping trip, you should be fine. I always love going to IKEA! Whether I go to find specific items or to get inspired, I'm always leaving with some new thing I never thought I could find or would need but do. This location is well organized. They are going through to reconstruct a lot of the designed areas/sets, so while not everything was open, they still had a decent selection to view before selecting items to purchase. Really easy to find items after viewing them since all items are coded. I've honestly loved all of my IKEA furniture pieces I've had throughout my life and a lot have lasted many years. I really only have sold or donated pieces once they no longer match my other furniture after giant moves. Otherwise, their furniture lasts and serves its purpose, at least for me! read more

Well, my last review was three stars so I guess this is a massive improvement for me. Hell, in another year we may be up to five stars, but let's see how things progress from here. I came into this Ikea to check out the kitchen designs and quality as I'm going to be doing some improvements in the not so distant future. I'll be the first to admit that I was hesitant because Ikea products are notorious for breaking but people online have been saying that the kitchen cabinets break that mold and have much better construction and materials than what we know from their other pieces of furniture. Well, while it's not Pottery Barn, it ain't a total piece of crap either. Yep, I said it, it's actually pretty good. Sure, I haven't made a purchase yet, but I will admit that I was impressed with what they had to offer at the prices that were attached to them. There's still time before I get my project up and moving but I'm happy to say that Ikea has entered the building and is now in the running. IKEA near Fashion Valley was very spacious however pretty difficult for parking. It's right across a costco, and share the same entrance lanes, and we all know Costco's gas station takes up so much of the space. I recommend avoiding a weekend. The only thing is that the service isn't the strongest suite, people don't really care much about your existence, so most likely recommended finding things yourself. My boyfriend and I went there for the afternoon just to browse and everything was pretty cheap quality, wishing it was more durable. We ended up getting an ice cream cone, and it was so good. Highly recommend. The IKEA itself can be crowded. read more

It was a bed so we had already cleared out the area. Had to beg to arrange for redelivery of entire order at no charge. A week later the items are to be delivered. We move out the old furniture, prepare the room. Receive the delivery. First box, wrong color. Different color than the other parts of the bed. And what does Ikea do to make up for this. Nothing. And, of course they get to keep the money for two weeks while they "process" the refund. On the positive side, the product we did open was such junk that I am glad we do not have it. IKEA is an experience. There's an entire floor dedicated as the showroom, where you can better visualize the products. There's another floor that serves as the marketplace, where you can pick up the majority of your items. Then the warehouse where you get your own large items, like furniture, before checking out. Add to that a play area where your children can be entertained while you shop, and a restaurant with reasonably priced meals so you have no reason to leave. I tried the plant balls (8 piece) which comes with lingonberry jam, and two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and a vegetable mix. Everything was good except the vegetables, which were overcooked and flavorless. But, for $8.99 it was a great deal. read more

Decided to try the pizza and hot dog from IKEA. You can order this on the ground floor near the exit. Pros: -self serve machines allow you to easily place your order -they have veggie dogs Cons: -this was probably the worst pizza that I've ever purchased. It was beyond dry (looked like it was sitting out for a long time) and had a cardboard-like crust. -the hot dog was on the smaller side and seemed ordinary (just mustard and ketchup for complimentary toppings). With Costco across the street, this hot dog cannot compare. I learned my lesson and will stick to the dining upstairs. read more

I'm addicted to the food and coffee. The lingonberry juice is also amazing!! The selection of chocolate and other sweet is tip notch!! I love it!! The price and value is awesome!! At this market, I think it's pretty good. Service is amazing!! I don't think I can recall having bad service at this ikea! The maze is such a tease!! Upstairs cafe: 4 stars. Very good food and inexpensive prices. We enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries with a side of Swedish meatballs. The staff was friendly and service is quick. The only reason it took slightly longer is waiting on customers that didn't know what they wanted. The menu is not huge so it shouldn't take forever and a million questions to figure it out. It was nice to see the crew exercise patience and remain kind while answering questions. The eating area was clean and you place your entire tray on a cart as you exit. Showroom: 3 stars. I loved seeing everything displayed. It really allows you to see the possibilities. However, the layout felt like you're in there forever. Walking to the exit took time. I like the higher ceiling of the first floor. The Showroom I felt confined. Parking lot is large but can fill quickly on the weekend. Get there early to avoid large crowds. read more

Years ago, IKEA was my go to for cheap furniture. I never expected much from IKEA furniture..it's all assemble it yourself...but it always fit my budget and my needs. This time, I went looking for a wall mounted foldable desk. I saw a few online that I wanted to look at in person. My partner in crime and I braved the insane parking lot- it's a shared lot with Home Depot and Costco. Whoever thought that was a good idea...well, it's not. A lot has changed in IKEA. There's no more childcare area. I remember bringing my kids there years ago...not sure when it closed. The store is a worse maze than ever before....and the quality has absolutely gone downhill. IKEA was never top of the line, but now..it's even worse. While we didn't find what I was looking for, we certainly spent a lot of time talking about how everything is ridiculously priced and you can tell it's low quality. The store reminds me of a Vegas casino...no clocks anywhere and you have no idea how to get out. read more

This IKEA is in a great central location that shares a large parking lot with Lowe's and Costco. With all of these businesses, the area is rather busy but usually there is always open parking stalls. I have been shopping at ikea since the college days and some of the biggest appeals are the large selection of almost everything, decent pricing, nice showrooms, friendly workers and of course, the restaurant. The Swedish meatballs are a favorite and this location has a pretty big seating area and good selection of other entrees. This visit they had a rainbow cake, chocolate fudge cake and a salmon baguette sandwich as items I've never seen before. It was also a pleasant surprise that there were prices for ikea family members (Swedish meatballs for $3.99!). I heard there is also a summer Friday special going on for half off entrees. As usual I went with the Swedish meatballs and also tried the chocolate cake, chicken noodle soup and salmon baguette. Note that the sandwich had smoked salmon which was different than what I'm used to and I could swear they used to give more meatballs. Overall everything was delicious and for that price, super enjoyable! read more

There was some renovation going on at the time, so some of the areas were in disarray. No luck on finding any shelves for our son. The store was so crowded and full of the most rudest people we've ever encountered. Trying to find help was near impossible since we did have some questions. However, we did find an employee who said he would return but failed after 15 minutes. We gave up and we were ready to leave. Unfortunately, we left empty-handed. I love love love shopping at IKEA. This is why I love that they have food inside a store it's truly amazing. The Swedish meatballs are to die for make sure to stop by to try them. I like how they have little rooms staged like a bedroom so you can see how the beds look in the curtains look. It's just ideal when you're shopping for things for your house. I also love how they have a wide variety of things they have spoons and silverware, but they also have food and beds and clothing. *Review on their cafeteria only! Ikea has the best deals for food! The portions look small but they'll fill you up fast. I typically get the meatballs but occasionally they'll have the salmon filet with different sauces and sides (not sure if this is a seasonal thing or if they just recently changed it). I came here with family and in total we only spent $31! We had 3 entrees, 2 sides, 2 chocolate bars, and 1 side of chips! Everything tastes healthy and clean. There's a soda fountain with plenty of drink options which is all self-serve as well. You are also asked to clean up after yourself by putting your trays away in designated areas. The design is quite simple since the cafeteria is on the entrance of the 2nd floor. On the first floor, there's a swedish market with more snacks and goodies (I always get the vanilla ice cream and strawberry yogurt swirl in the kids size as a sweet treat). Staff in the cafeteria upstairs are always sweet to explain the menu items to you if you are uncertain of what you want. Afterwards, you can walk off what you ate while looking through the showrooms where the staff there are also very helpful as well! read more

Ordered a sofa/love seat and paid for pick up service and delivery. But had to pay for that separately after driving 45 minutes to the store, because the suck website does not allow you to order pick-up online. The person trying to help me at the store couldn't figure out how to complete the order from their system. So I had to go to a different dept. to handle delivery. Called the store day of delivery after checking tracking and seeing the order was cancelled and receiving no notification. Was informed that my order had been split into 2 orders and rescheduled for different dates without notifying us, because they sold us a sofa they didn't have in stock! Got the first delivery a day after we were supposed to. But the delivery driver argued that the additional parts on our order weren't on his list. Until he went and re-checked his truck. "Oops, sorry." And, bonus - when he showed up he said, "this is too hard for me alone, so you can help, or i can cancel the delivery. ... The delivery I paid for. So I wouldn't have to move it myself. Rolled up my sleeves and said screw it, at least it's here. And waited the next day for someone to pick up the old furniture. Shocker, no one came. Called IKEA back again. Was then told that pickup had to be rescheduled to the other delivery date as well. I begrudgingly agreed to that date. But again never received any confirmation. Spent 3 hours today trying to make sure they were still coming. Called IKEA, then IKEA says call delivery company #1, then that company says not them, call delivery company #2. Then #2 says "not us, call IKEA". Who then finally told me someone messed up and I have to wait another week past the 4-day delay we have already had to deal with. WTF are you kidding me? So here I am with 4 couches in a 1,000 sq ft apt. Praying some idiot doesn't cancel, ignore, or otherwise screw up our order again! The level of ineptitude! Quick update... the second delivery due today never showed, and the shipping company cannot contact the driver. Insanity. read more

I hate the enormous space IKEA takes up- because of the immediate sense of anxiety I get. I looked up their website so many times to know the exact items I needed to bring some piece of joy with in my chaotic life. With hubby in tow (thank goodness he knows how IKEA rolls!) our Tacoma, and a screenshot of the cubby shelves I need for some serious organizing-- we had a game plan! I went pee as soon as I walked in the building (to eliminate unnecessary back tracking). I asked an employee once we got upstairs where I could find my gems- and off we went. Well, of course we kinda Looky Lou'd at some kitchen ideas- but, that's besides the point! FOCUS!! Found our KALLAX units. Happy that the 2 column shelves were in the warehouses. Bummed, that the one column shelves in the color I wanted were unavailable. But, I needed to snag what I could. Take pictures of your item's labels- if you plan on doing self serve!
