My personal experience with IKEA before one was built in Round Rock was one of distaste. The first time I ever went to IKEA was in Dallas (or Plano, wherever the hell it was) to go peruse desk chairs for my ex-boyfriend. Since he was out of my league, I spent the entire time following him around as poked around the store, trying to protect him from the other IKEA queens who also decided to make a day trip and were trolling the aisles, ignoring my scathing glances and trying to get his attention. The whole afternoon was exhausting, and all I got out of the day was a desk chair I ended up having to put together for him, and some plastic ice cube trays that were shaped like stars. Needless to say, it was a bust. Putting aside all the negative vibes I have associated with IKEA, I thought it'd be the perfect place to get most of the things my little brother needed for his first apartment while he was in grad school. One of the benefits of having a gay older brother who's a realtor is he can find you the perfect place, and then proceed to tastefully decorate it. My budget was around $1000 for everything from the sofa to the assorted tchotchkes, and so I was unleashed into the Round Rock IKEA, ready to make believe I was one of those deisgners on HGTV. I had 500 square feet of space to work with, which is why I immediately thought of IKEA. I was totally unaware at how many good deals there were on everything on top of it! I decided at the entrance on a concept (black and white with accents of red), and I got to work. Their main furniture is pretty good quality; I settled on a black futon style with birch accents, and found the computer desk and TV stand that would match. Their coffee/side tables were dirt cheap and all you really have to do is screw on the legs. I decided against getting a bed and/or mattress at IKEA; I draw the line at some do-it-yourself stuff. It was overly complicated and I was utterly confused as to what pieces I was supposed to buy. Kitchen stuff was great, lighting a breeze, and the walk through the whole store was good exercise. Even if you dont have kids, the stuff they have now for children is adorable. I even stopped for the Swedish meatballs for the hell of it, to get the whole experience. The find I'm most proud of is a triangle table that sits flush against the wall, so even though my brother has no breakfast area, he still has a breakfast table! After finding a good majority of what I wanted, I stopped by the clearance section. I found the perfect print for his bedroom roughly 75% off. This section is worth taking a look at. The service was minimal. The woman in the showroom area was a sweet gal who showed me how to get started on my endeavor, but that was the extent of her involvement. After that though, no one else is there. The guys in the stock room where you pick up your stuff are moderately helpful, but be prepared to haul all your own crap just in case they want to ignore you. You're paying cheap prices, which means don't expect any customer service. They won't even take the stuff out to your car, which mildly irritated me, but that's IKEA and I'm also just plain lazy. It was definitely a different experience for me, having come from the Ethan Allen/Louis Shanks tradition of furniture buying. But it does serve an important purpose: if you are starting out, or have a tight budget, you can still get "stuff". It's not the fanciest, sure it's mass produced, but when you do it up right, it's charming. After everything was set up in his apartment (Mind you I didn't put a thing together, I'm just the designer ;-) ), the apartment looked great. Word got around and apparently the management was so impressed with what I did with the space, they want to use his apartment as a model to show prospective tenants. I had only ever visited an IKEA store when we lived in Europe almost 20 years ago. It was about the same as I remembered the concept being. People were friendly and the selection of furniture, housewares and bedding was what you would expect from this concept. We were in need of guest bedroom furniture but did not end up finding what we wanted. We did find a few decorative items and some really awesome spa quality cotton bath robes. This place has a restaurant with Scandinavian inspired items, as well as a small grocery store type area with jams, jellies etc. we opted for lunch elsewhere- but several people seemed to be enjoying their meals. It's a gun diversion to go here and shop the European style furniture and house wears, and it's in the middle of lots of other shopping and dining locations. read more

The store is great, but ordering online is a nightmare. I spent an hour trying to get a $400 order delivered to my home because the store was out of stock. The system kept telling me that the store was out of stock, which I already knew, that's why I was ordering online for delivery to my home. Despite some courteous help from customer service, they were not able to get the parts delivered. The customer service e rep ended up telling me to wait and check in a few days to see if the part would get back in stock so I could purchase it at the store . Employees dispositions are rough. Does this trickled down from management ? As a costumer spending money with this business you'd hope their strict codes, regulations or policy's would be offered in a less demeaning way. I've been to this location 3x recently It's been really offensive each time. As if I'm breaking the law by asking a question about a pick up. The door monitor employee very off putting. The pickup department also. As if your disturbing their peace or infecting them by shopping here. No Hellos No thank you I can say there are many different employees asking "can I help you" in a tone that a customer is violating something ? along with other employees commenting please step back and you need to go around" when I was inquiring about a pickup. A " please " in front of a direct order is not customer service or satisfaction when the delivery of the statement is so off putting. Leaving this place left me not wanting to return . read more

The return section in the Round Rock, Texas store is horrible. After waiting one half hour in line, I tried to return a small clock which was still in the original IKEA box. I had lost the receipt, but I figured that this would be no problem, since I have never had any problems returning an item without a receipt in all the other stores that I had shopped in. I was refused the return, a female who identified herself as the manager there told me that they don't accept returns without a receipt. This is a hell of a way to run a business. If you are returning an item to the Round Rock, Texas Ikea store, Beware, you have better have your receipt. read more

There are things I love about this store, and things I despise about it. My first exposure to an IKEA was at the Houston store. If you've ever been there, it's a two-story design. I was there with my parents, which made the maze-like configuration all that more difficult. My mom like to shop at places like this, but she tires more easily than she used to, which makes it a real necessity to be able to go directly from Point A to Point B and out. There was simply no way to do that in this store, even given the elevator. We went twice, I think, got some really cool items and only wished there was one in Austin. Well there is now, and while we haven't been there as a group (Dad's now in a wheelchair) I've been the maze rat on one occasion. I'm glad it's one level instead of two, but the point-to-point stuff is no more possible than it is in Houston. Plus, the aisles seem kind of small for a wheelchair and, at this point, I might need a wheelchair chain. I just don't think a group outing is possible, and that's a shame. If anyone knows if this place provides motorized carts, let me know. But I digress. Back to the reason we shop here. For the junk. I mean merchandise. IKEA is perfect for the college student on a budget who needs a lot of inexpensive furnishings and decorations for an initial set up. But I think this is the practical limit of this side of their house because I just don't see the stuff lasting more than the four...no five...no six years it takes to get a Bachelor's degree nowadays. Where I think IKEA excels is in accessories. Everything from kitchenware to bath accessories to decorator items. My one exclusion in this area is their lighting, and the construction of their electrical items looks like a fire waiting to happen. But the rest of what I mentioned includes many one of a kind items that are mostly well-made and very practical. Examples are a great bed-tray with two cupholders. Very sturdy and excellent for a person who eats all their meals away from a table. Also, some of their inexpensive throw rugs can help for areas that get dirty fast and need a "wash it until the backing breaks down, then throw it away" solution. Then their are the designer wastebaskets that we've managed to press into service as cool places to stow the bathroom plungers. There are many more examples where these came from, but these are just a few. So, to bottom line it, I hate the store layout. It's great for the first time visitor who needs to be hand-held, but frustrating for the experienced IKEA shopper who doesn't need to be spoon fed. (Yes, I know about the cut-throughs, but they still take needless steps). They can keep the stick and particle-board furniture; I've graduated from that. But keep those accessories comin'. SO I bought a couch from Ikea and scheduled for delivery Monday 6-9PM. Monday night I received a call from J logistics or something telling me that the truck had an accident so my furniture wasn't going to be delivered and the manager was going to call in the morning to reschedule the delivery. I get a call Tuesday morning telling me that my furniture was going to be delivered that morning. NOT RESCHEDULE, but a notification. I immediately called back leaving several messages until I got a person telling them that I work from 9-6pm everyday and will not be home to receive the furniture. The person I spoke to then said he would reschedule the delivery for Thursday 6-9PM. Thursday night, 8PM I still haven't received a phone call. I called them to find out that THEY NEVER RESCHEDULED MY DELIVERY FOR THURSDAY. After spending 10 minutes on the phone with the delivery company, I was informed that there was nothing they can do but have the manager call me in the morning to reschedule. I'm now on hold for over 10 minutes with IKEA to file a customer service complaint. read more

In IKEA, I always feel like a mouse in a maze searching for cheese, or in this case, Swedish meatballs. By the way, never come here on an empty stomach or you'll just be hangry and frustrated in this massive furniture/home goods labyrinth because there are no shortcuts to get to where you need to be ...err, or am I just talking about myself? Anyway, I have yet to purchase some major decor so I can't comment about the quality and durability, but what I have noticed is that most of their furnishings are reasonably priced. I really like their organizational and kitchen items, though. During a recent visit, I had trouble trying to find a vanity that I've seen in their catalog. First associate wasn't much help because he had no idea what I was talking about; second associate only found two existing displays -- none of which I wanted and drove about 40 min for ...bah. It is amazing that in 2018 a leading edge company can provide such a spectacular and inglorious array of inhospitable customer support. Although I am referring to one specific online order for delivery, my experience was as such that this single event casts doubts on the leadership and the management's ability to truly understand how wasteful and fruitless their administration of after sales support. Summary of the experience: The delivery service scheduled and then canceled the delivery twice The website "contact us" is an infinite loop The email address goes to the UK The only phone number 888) 888-4532 a) 60% of the time does not ring b) Called 28 times, spoke with someone four times, put on hold for a minimum of 25 minutes. c) Asked for help but placed on hold, no indication of wait time If I were to describe my experience in a metaphor, it would be like a really bad relationship that shows no end in sight, has no meaning and costs a lot of time, money and energy. read more

I wish I could give this IKEA 5 stars just for their products because they're awesome and it's super convenient and close to home. However, I can't stand the single-story layout of this store. Most IKEA stores are multiple-level and easy to navigate - not this one. I don't normally have a problem with claustrophobia, but I can't get in and out of this store fast enough, which I guess ends up saving me tons of money. If you are a college student, a recent college graduate, a college drop out, or simply live in the vicinity of a college, you probably appreciate cheap furniture. Those rascally Swedes have cornered the market on stereotypically cheap college apartment furnishings! But, surprise! They also build this shit to last. No joke, I have the same Lack end tables and coffee table I bought ten years ago, now accessorized by my hanging wine rack, red chair, and an assortment of glass lamps. Despite my intro, this place isn't just for college tastes or college budgets- they have innovative and affordable décor and design options, particularly for small spaces and kitchens in particular. But for the more major purchases, you'll have a hefty bill. Oh, and the whole layout of winding through an entire warehouse of mock-housing-setups is stupid clever marketing (again, those rascally Swedes!), making you visualize your space 19, 284 different ways and snatching up more and more small purchases. Only things to dislike here are the location being far away from, well, everything. But they do offer delivery and set-up. And it's really frustrating to wind through the whole store only to find that one of your major purchase items is actually out of stock. read more

Ikea - land of the efficiently cool Swedish flatpack furniture lifestyle. I have a love/hate relationship with this store. I go in with the intention of buying a set of glasses. But evil genius designers have guaranteed that I can't simply walk down a set of aisles to find them, I have to go through a mile long twisting maze full of lovely little rooms with elaborately built bookcases to get to them. I am a rat in a cage that's been draped with great multicolored graphic prints. There's a strange voyeuristic quality to walking through these imaginary peoples' dens. My favorite part is the 'look what we can do with 250 square feet' setups. I get hives just thinking about all the times I'd bump into my folding dining chairs hanging cleverly on the wall to save space. But I love to see what they do with them. Organizing magazines have become my new porn so of course this is an equivalent of being in an adult bookstore for me. It's confusing though that you have to write down the number and aisle of what you want then go to the giant warehouse section at the end to get the furniture. I have no doubt there was an expensive consumer case study about how much more efficient this was; yet at the same time creating a greater likelihood of the customer buying more items. At least I'm self-aware enough to know that I have a higher than average likelihood of impulse purchases so usually come to the big I with a list and *try* to follow it. It's a good indication that this is a large treacherous store when there's a cafe about halfway through the trek. They sell swedish meatballs, mac and cheese, and a surprisingly good slice of chocolate cake. By the way, pretty much every room in my house is furnished by Ikea in some way or another. And those elaborate shelves look FABULOUS. read more

I always find something we can use, whether it be ideas from their designer showrooms, or a pair of kitchen shears, or a small 99-cent alarm clock, or whimsical, colourful furniture for our (then) toddler's room. Today, though, I was there for the swedish meatballs. I love their swedish meatballs!! I ran to the cafeteria and almost bowled over small children in my eagerness to reach it (also, I was seriously hungry and was not myself). This place gets swamped, I mean SWAMPED on the weekends! Way worse than IKEA Brooklyn on a Saturday! Who knew? Also, everything is on a single story and that means you have to navigate your way thru the "maze" of rooms to get to the cafe once you enter. I prefer the two story layout of other IKEA locations. Then I visited the cafe...sub-par as usual, but IKEA Round Rock seemed messy. The salad bar looked very unappealing and possibly contaminated by unsupervised children running loose. The dining area was unkempt. I don't even know how to describe what I discovered at my table when I tried to use the pepper on my salmon. It would not come out so I opened it up only to discover a congealed pepper-mass that appeared to have a moldy center. (See photo). I was also disappointed when I went to get a cinnamon roll on my way out and that area was wiped out too! The pizza and cinnamon rolls looked old so I did not get one. On a better note, the staff throughout the store and cafe were far friendlier and helpful than IKEA Brooklyn. The wait at the returns/parts area was very brief and the lines moved fast at the checkout too. Overall, I would recommend a weekday IKEA Round Rock excursion if possible and eat somewhere else if you can. read more

Forget the Swedish Meatballs, it's all about the Cinnamon Rolls! Yes I am aware most people do not go to Ikea to eat but after you walk the entire store your blood sugar is going to be a tad low and what better to pick it up then one of their sumptuous sweet treats? They are the perfect little treat, not too sweet, not too sticky and for one dollar they are super affordable. If meatballs are your thing then go for it but honestly I'm almost gagging thinking about those little nasty balls and the fact that I actually put them in my mouth! Its all about the cinnamon rolls for me well that and their fabric department. Ikea has some of the most creative and affordable fabrics around. If you craft or sew at all this part of Ikea could be dangerous. The fabric designs are some of the freshest, most creative you can find for the average price of 7.99 a yard. Aside from their fabric and tasty cinnamon rolls they do have pretty much anything and everything a person would need to furnish their apartment or home especially on a small budget. Keep in mind that you will not be purchasing heirloom quality stuff but hey its Ikea and if you don't already know that before you hit their doors then odds are you have been living in a cave or under a rock for the past 60 years or so. I am still working on finding the best time to make the trek out to the store to avoid the hell that is IH 35 AND a store full of mommies with their devil spawn (you know who you are). I know during COVID there has been lots of talk of IKEA delivery delays, unfulfilled orders and unresponsive customer service, but for what its worth I just ordered a huge sectional and had it delivered the very next day, less than 24 hours after I pressed "order". I would suggest asking to speak with a manager for any grievances and refund requests. Please know that they issue store credits as a refund instead of your card. If you'd like a complete refund back to your card then prepare to be assigned a case number and wait for the store gift card to show up in the post and then drive back to the Ikea store and wait again for customer support to issue you the refund back to your card. Smallest IKEA I've ever been to. I didn't even know they had single level stores. So, of course, selection of items is not as plentiful as other locations. The customer service is not what I am accustomed to either. I've been to the Round Rock location (so far out there) 3 times and on every visit had found it very difficult to locate an employee when I have needed assistance. Oh well. At least there is a location in the Austin area. read more

The prices here for most furniture is about as cheap as you are going to find which is why it is so popular. The problem is, I consider this furniture 1 time use meaning if you have to move, expect it to fall apart. Furniture is definitely not built to last. Most of it is pressed board with a laminate over it. Good luck checking out. They have about 20 registers with 4 cashiers working. Not sure why they took out the self serve registers. What's not to like about Ikea? This is probably the best place to go if you need to outfit an entire house without breaking the bank. Whether you're looking to upgrade a bedroom or stock a kitchen with everything except major appliances, this is your place. OK, so it is a HUGE store. I mean, you could put at least 2 Costco stores under Ikea's roof. This is somewhat of a drain but if I had one major complaint, it would be the very circuitous route one must take through the store. Like Dorothy and her yellow brick road, Ikea also has a meandering road and to swim against the current seems to be frowned upon. If you're unfamiliar with Ikea, well, it's a Swedish warehouse store providing home goods such as furniture, bookcases, beds, linens, tables, chairs (but no big Lazy-Boy style recliners), lighting etc... They items are of fairly decent quality but the selection is quite nice. The catch, and the reason they can keep costs relatively low, is that YOU must put everything together. Most of the items are fairly simple to put together although you occasionally get the bogey that's a real head scratcher. Another BIG draw is their cafeteria featuring Swedish meatballs. A plate of 15 meatballs (each a tad smaller than a golf ball, I'd say), a scoop of mashed taters, a dollop of lingonberry, and gravy (upon request) is just $5.99. A quite filling meal for such a small price. They also have some other items such as smoked salmon, ribs (surprisingly), and some Swedish drinks made from wildflowers... In their smaller café just after the checkout lanes, you can pick up hotdogs for just .50 cents, cinnamon rolls for $1 and frozen yogurt cones for a buck, too. They also sell a number of Swedish delicacies that look as if they were made from tree bark. Overall, Ikea is a one-stop shop for your home-outfitting needs (no major appliances) and a decent quality meal at fabulous prices. Bring a truck to load all your stuff in and enjoy the shopping experience. Oh, a top tip would be to sign up for their free friends club as a number of items are usually nicely marked down just for members. read more

DO NOT SHOP ONLINE!!! I will never, ever order online for delivery again, and as a result of my frustrating experience, will not shop at the store either. I echo all of the reviews for a time consuming and horrible customer support experience for a paid, delivered order of which I cannot use. First, it took 2 weeks to deliver. The 2 glass food containers (only part of the order) were so tightly wrapped so I thought nice BUT NO, NO, NO!! They placed 2 glass food containers of the same size inside one another and they are stuck for life. I tried everything even WD40 to grease them up. STUCK. So then you end up with horrific support issues. 1. First call to support and waited 45 minutes. Recording then said the wait would be another 60 minutes. Glad they think customers have that kind of time. Also there policy is they must be informed within 48 hours of delivery. I guess they hide to get you outside the 48 hours and then say nope. 2. Called again the next day mid-day and the message was an 85 minute wait. Not happening so I emailed support via online directions. 3. Emailed support on a Monday, attached a picture of the stuck product. Now the script walks you through the required email information but even though they ask if purchased in-store or online they still require fields that are not applicable when purchased online. Frustration increases. Email sent by entering n/a in those fields like 'case number' and 'manual code'. Huh? I am sure the manual for the glass containers would have said do not place them inside one another. 4. No response even though when successfully sent email to customer support the message is they will get right back to you. Now maybe in the UK their standard of right back to you is some time in your lifetime. 5. Four days later, nada. I sent another email as I am now on a mission. Then I called support again and you will never guess....the message was they have too high of a call volume to take support calls and to use the stupid website. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!! Inexcusable and a rip off. Now almost 2 weeks later....I tried the suggested alternate numbers with 410 area code mentioned below with the exact same frustration. High call volume and call on another day message. The other number pressing '0' for the operator no one ever answers the line. Really does not speak well for this well known company. Horrible purchasing and delivery experience. I wasted so much time and effort trying to get the delivery I PAID for. I spent multiple of my days off sitting at home and waiting on hold because my shipment never arrived on time. It still didn't arrive on time when I was forced to re-schedule the delivery. An updated shopping experience, still can't give IKEA more than two stars. For the Lingonberry bean counters in Sweden looking at their Austin numbers you can thank Randölph for giving my family an unpleasant visit. Frankly, I work retail and for the dollars an hour spent I'd hand that man a pink slip. So we're shopping, traveling thru the maze. Decided that a few items would meet our needs. Dessert at the cafe in the middle. Notations for a food review here. The cashier failed to ring up half of what we ordered because he was new. We saved $8 and noticed a few friends also shopping. The apple "cake" was OK; but would have been better if would have been heated. The better half did better with the iced almond cake. Is it just me or does the fountain drinks taste overly sweet here? Both the Dr. Pepper and the Pepsi seemed off. Now the main reason for the update, the horrid experience we had when gathering our items in the self serve area. We find two items in stock immediately and then stroll up to an empty bin. That's where we meet Randölph. I asked him to take a look at inventory to see if there was more in the overheads. He then peeled off as we walked back over to the area to a computer station and began helping another woman that walked up at random. When he finally returned his tude didn't get any better. No seemed to be his favorite word. We needed two more baskets; look there is 6 on display! We don't sell the displays. No, No, No. What happens if your out of stock? Basically, your SOL and will have to come back. Yep, we were done with this guy. I then found another employee that showed us another type of basket was also interchangeable and they had plenty! We loaded up and drove the hour back to the ranch. Assembly time! read more

IKEA makes me happy. Lots of stuff for like $16. Maybe a slight exaggeration, but we have had excellent experiences redoing our house with Ikea goods. For starters, we bought a house that had nothing redone since it was built -- including a blah apartment-like oak kitchen with white Formica counter tops. Now, we have a sleek, modern Ikea kitchen, which cost us 1/2 of what our other estimates were. (See uploaded photo). We were pretty well-timed as well. When we bought a kitchen and two appliances, they gave us two appliances for free and 10% of total gift card, which bought us all of our lighting, some cabinets for the bathroom, and lots of accessories. I have a love and hate relationship with you. Your items are a hit or miss. I love you when I need something cheap, but hate you when I have to read instructions I can't understand. My hands flair in the air with frustration. I politely end up calling someone else to save me. I'm currently digging your wooden hangers that I'm using in my miniumalist closet. You were there for me when I renovated my offices. But once I grew out of the Ikea style I was stuck with.....well Ikea. Your store is a half marathon and you're kinda left on your own to figure things out. All in all, it's a nice place for someone on a budget or really just digs a more modern style. I just moved to Austin this past weekend and decided to get some new furniture at the local Ikea. Although the staff in the store were fairly helpful actually receiving my items has been a several hour battle which ultimately ended in me canceling my delivery and using my roommate's truck to get the items myself. My original delivery time was for Tuesday 9/30 (same day) from 5-9 pm. No furniture came and around 10 pm I received a phone call from the driver saying he was a man down and was unable to deliver my items. He then proceeded to promise delivery for today 10/1 between 9am-12pm. Once again I received no furniture and this time, no call. After about an hour on the phone with a CS representative he informed me that the earliest they could deliver my furniture would be this Friday 10/3.... I do not understand why if a delivery was scheduled for same day and THEY MADE A MISTAKE, my order would be promised the next day but not actually delivered until 4 days later. Sadly this will be the last time I ever utilize this service and very well the last time I visit this store. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT PAY FOR THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE! I suggest planning on taking all items home yourself if possible and do not bother trying to call their CS line because it took me 3 phone calls all over 30 minute wait time to get through once. This location is ridiculously packed with people all the time. It's not 2-stories like the Frisco location so you are running around for hours trying to go through all the rooms. I found it nice that they have so much parking and even a parking garage. Prices are always really great here, that's why I love it. I suggest they open an IKEA in San Antonio to help levitate some of the traffic. read more

I love IKEA don't get me wrong but, this one seems to be lacking the selection of IKEA's that I have been to in other states. I don't like having to order from them on-line so they should really get a larger selection here! Also, this one seems a bit confusing to navigate or it is just not set up as well as their other stores. They do have the "as is" section that I always like to browse so that's nice. I am happy to see they now have a sort of discount card called the IKEA Family and you can sign up in the store or on-line and print off your card in the store. Every month they send you an e-mail with items that are deeply discounted for members and they have deals in their restaurant. I think last time I was there it was buy an ice cream cone get one so, if you have kids that would be good. It's a necessary evil in the way that even though they don't have a huge selection, if you want to go to IKEA you have to go to this one. read more

my experience in your round rock store and why I will never buy anything from IKEA after. I find the item on the floor I wanted. Smagora wardrobe listed at 179.99 (I took a pic so I could find it) go to isle 28 bin 22 as stated on the pic. There's a bed there. So I go to the front and ask someone in pickup where it could be he redirects me to isle 2 bin 55. We get there it's behind a gate also with a price tag of $179.99. But two workers say we can't have it and we now need to go to isle 20 and get an order . We go to isle 20 get the order it's now $199 go to the front to pay for it (we are now 20 minutes into our adventure) we tell the women the item is priced 179.99 in not one but TWO locations with pictures to prove. She can't change the price , we have to go back to isle 20 , go back , this girl can't change the price but talked to a manager, writes on our ticket and tells us they can override the price. Go back to the register to pay now we are a good 40 minutes into this adventure and the cashier says no calls a manager and the manager says no . We can pay and they can refund us. After 40 minutes of running around a store for one item that is misplace and apparently miss priced in 2 locations no. Literally we should have gotten a discount for the inconvenience and no help on any employees end. absolutely ridiculous when I was a ready paying customer that I couldn't even get to the item which was in stock in the store . Probably get a big team meeting on how to accommodate customers when y'all mess up. read more

Have been looking for a nice photo, print, or painting of Austin's Pennybacker Bridge. I love the architectural design of it. Tim and I found a nice 40" x 50" (roughly) print at Ikea. The price was great for a print of this size. Only paid $39.99. They have a large selection of nice prints. We have one of the same size of Paris France w/Eiffel Tower in the distance. Will post photos. Ikea does have inexpensive prices for furniture, kitchen ware, and home decor items. read more

Im only giving 1 star because it wont let me do 0. The products are good....their customer service sucks at the round rock location. Too bad Austin does not have another location. SATURDAY NOV. 18th. We went in to look at a specific desk I saw on their website. All their carts and baskets have now been moved to the end of their warehouse. So when I asked an employee where were the carts because I wanted to buy a DESK. He said at the end because it's the showroom and you just take a PHOTO of the stock number for the desk you want, take it to the registers and they WILL BRING YOU the item. So we looked around and I had my husband go find a cart so we could buy other things we would want for our NEW HOME. We are still furnishing and buying a lot of household goods. We spent a good hour looking at stuff and getting ideas of things to purchase. I already had over 300$ in my basket to buy. We get to the check out of course we are waiting 20 minutes to check out which would have been fine if it was not a waste of time. So we get up to this cashier and I show her the photo of the stock # telling her this is the desk we would like. She tells me that I have to go get it that she cannot ring it up. At this time I explained to her what I was told by one of your employees and asked for someone to go get it while she rings up the rest of the items I'm purchasing. MOST STORES WILL DO THAT. However she gave me attitude and so I asked for her to call a manager. So the manager came, I explained that his employee told us that all we had to do was take a photo of the item which again was a DESK and go check out. He had a bad attitude as well. He said this was a self service warehouse and that I would have to go get the desk off the shelf and bring it up. Neverminding the fact that his employee misinformed us he still didn't correct the inconvenience and offer to go retrieve the merchandise for customer satisfaction. So I said okay, I won't be buying the desk or spending any of my hard earned cash at this IKEA in Round Rock, Texas. I told him I spend thousands of dollars in "SELF SERVICE WAREHOUSES" Sam's club and Costco for starters. I have executive memberships and when there is an item I need to buy, they don't hesitate to HELP their customers with any item big or small and Sam's is owned by Wal-Mart for Pete's sake!!! I would have gotten the product myself had they provided the carts at the front of the store AND had I NOT been instructed by THEIR EMPLOYEE to take a photo of the stock number then take it to the cashier while being told that THEY WOULD BRING IT TO YOU. We have a newly built home that I will be buying tons of things for organizing each and every room in that house and more. There are tons of retail stores that will be getting my business but the IKEA of Round Rock, Texas will not be one of them. We live 45mins away so took the option to pay $7 and return them and buy the ones we wanted online because they weren't in store. I returned 4 covers with the receipt.
