Horrible purchasing and delivery experience. I wasted so much time and effort trying to get the delivery I PAID for. I spent multiple of my days off sitting at home and waiting on hold because my shipment never arrived on time. It still didn't arrive on time when I was forced to re-schedule the delivery. So everyone knows that Ikea is the place to go for inexpensive, shiny, well-designed home goods, but did you know that their return policy is awesome, too? When I went back to Ikea this fall to make some returns, I saw the person in front of me successfully return a bag of frozen Swedish meatballs. Seriously. Apparently you can return almost ANYTHING at Ikea. Looking at the return policy it seems they basically only draw the line at used bedding, custom items, and their as-is section. Next time I'd really like to see if they'd let me return a hot dog... Also I got a pack of 12 wine glasses here for 2 bucks total. Score! read more

Love, love, love this place! Some cheap things, some expensive. Cool, neat things! Art, toys, stuffed animals, kitchen stuff, etc. We went in last time to get a shelf and $500 later we rolled out, lol! So careful, it's dangerous! My husband has gone with his kids before and had breakfast, he said it's good and cheap! There is also a play area to put the kids, you have an hour so you better power shop before it's time to get them. They have a food area at front with neat Swedish food. They used to have these choc covered marshmallow coconut thingies, haven't seen them lately, but I always check for them, they are insane! Now that I'm all grown up and stuff, furniture to me is like toys when I was a kid. I love walking through IKEA even though most the time it seems the same with maybe a few changes here and there. They recently remodeled (moved stuff around) a few months ago so I guess it's a "fresh new look". Other than shopping here for cheap furniture, their food is awesome. It's not gourmet by any means, but it's great to just grab a quick meal. I do love the meatballs but I don't get the meatball plate because after about the 8th one or so each one after is just diminishing returns on my taste buds. Instead I'll get different meal and add a few meatballs for $1. If you get the IKEA family card, you can get a free coffee too! It's a free membership so there's no excuse not to get it. read more

Ikea is Ikea. Price to quality ratio is good enough to justify shopping here. Walking the path gets old after the first five minutes but at least they opened up a door so you can enter from the end of the end to save time and steps. Food court is pretty good. Im only giving 1 star because it wont let me do 0. The products are good....their customer service sucks at the round rock location. Too bad Austin does not have another location. SATURDAY NOV. 18th. We went in to look at a specific desk I saw on their website. All their carts and baskets have now been moved to the end of their warehouse. So when I asked an employee where were the carts because I wanted to buy a DESK. He said at the end because it's the showroom and you just take a PHOTO of the stock number for the desk you want, take it to the registers and they WILL BRING YOU the item. So we looked around and I had my husband go find a cart so we could buy other things we would want for our NEW HOME. We are still furnishing and buying a lot of household goods. We spent a good hour looking at stuff and getting ideas of things to purchase. I already had over 300$ in my basket to buy. We get to the check out of course we are waiting 20 minutes to check out which would have been fine if it was not a waste of time. So we get up to this cashier and I show her the photo of the stock # telling her this is the desk we would like. She tells me that I have to go get it that she cannot ring it up. At this time I explained to her what I was told by one of your employees and asked for someone to go get it while she rings up the rest of the items I'm purchasing. MOST STORES WILL DO THAT. However she gave me attitude and so I asked for her to call a manager. So the manager came, I explained that his employee told us that all we had to do was take a photo of the item which again was a DESK and go check out. He had a bad attitude as well. He said this was a self service warehouse and that I would have to go get the desk off the shelf and bring it up. Neverminding the fact that his employee misinformed us he still didn't correct the inconvenience and offer to go retrieve the merchandise for customer satisfaction. So I said okay, I won't be buying the desk or spending any of my hard earned cash at this IKEA in Round Rock, Texas. I told him I spend thousands of dollars in "SELF SERVICE WAREHOUSES" Sam's club and Costco for starters. I have executive memberships and when there is an item I need to buy, they don't hesitate to HELP their customers with any item big or small and Sam's is owned by Wal-Mart for Pete's sake!!! I would have gotten the product myself had they provided the carts at the front of the store AND had I NOT been instructed by THEIR EMPLOYEE to take a photo of the stock number then take it to the cashier while being told that THEY WOULD BRING IT TO YOU. We drove all the way from Austin for they're kids eat free on Tuesday only to find out they don't do that anymore because the company has been loosing money apparently. Sweet baby Swed's, thank you for IKEA. The land of quaintly organized displays of new home furnishings, land of where OCD decorators dream, land of good furniture to fit small spaces. You are my rock. When I'm no where near Round Rock or North Austin or just in Austin with 4 extra hours in my trip, I head to IKEA. No reason, no real need. I just go. I always happen to find something. Even if it is just inspiration to redecorate or reorganize things, I find something. I built a successful room for my 4 year old, given myself nice kitchen plates and glasses for less than $40, I built an awesome couch that pulls out into a nice comfy full size bed, unlike those haggard pull out couches you sleep on at your in laws with the rails that break your back and hips. Every purchase is worth it, every visit brings me closer to that dream of having a nice clean, organized home. read more

We have bought 2 dressers here, our tv entertainment center and a few other tiny things. I ususally have to hold back from buying a lot of stuff, but hey if you are looking for right now.. Ikea is perfect. If you are looking for forever... you might try a few other shops down the road. I.e. Ashley's, (well for at least 10 years), and Star furniture, at least 15... Louis Shanks I guess would be more of the forever category maybe. I've never had anything to eat here.. nor have I tried the Swedish meatballs... doesn't really interest me.. but hey they got em if you want them. Ikea is like model building for adults. The furniture isn't all the best stuff and I'm not a huge fan of particle wood, but I'm shocked how well their products hold up. That said, everything I have bought was for a bed room and not kitchen or high traffic living room. What don't I like about Ikea: the catalog is just a tease. I have to see it in person before I'll commit. If you don't go on an off time, I get a bit dizzy in the swimming sea of people. Two of the four wheels on the cart need to be fixed. Why is there only one place to get into the parking lot? I never show up and not get lost in the building. What I do like: not the cheapest furniture you can get, some accessories you can't get anywhere else (LED strip lights you can afford!), and assembling what you've bought isn't like origami. read more

I LOVE IKEA! Pros: -Affordable furniture -Genuinely nice staff. I even saw a guy (I think his name was ROBERT or ROB) that helped a family load boxes into their truck. I think that Robert was actually in the process of retreiving carts, but he saw that the father was about the drop the boxes and stopped to help. He was smiling the whole time he was helping the family, and he stayed to help finish loading the rest of the boxes too. I couldn't believe that the wife and kids were just sitting in the car, not willing to help. The family didn't tip him or anything either! Just an all around nice guy. -Good, cheap food. The food handlers are very sweet, especially one girl that really tries to make your plate look like it's from a fancy restaurant. She tries her best to put garnish on each plate even if there's a line. Good customer service! Cons Sometimes it's difficult to put the furniture together because the directions are usually just pictures. Pay attention to the details on the pictures. But honestly, we got a whole bedroom of furniture for half the price of other places. So what's a little work :). read more

So, we bought an ikea kitchen in January. The sales associate said when the kitchens go on sale just bring the receipt back for a credit. Yay we said. But not so fast, in order for that to happen you have to use the ikea family card and we forgot to do that at check out. So, I contact customer service and they tell me if I want to use my IKEA family card, I have to bring all of the kitchen back to return and then repurchase using the family card. No problem i said. Just left ikea with my kitchen and no credit. No one mentioned that only kitchens costing $2000 or more qualify for the discounted price. my experience in your round rock store and why I will never buy anything from IKEA after. I find the item on the floor I wanted. Smagora wardrobe listed at 179.99 (I took a pic so I could find it) go to isle 28 bin 22 as stated on the pic. There's a bed there. So I go to the front and ask someone in pickup where it could be he redirects me to isle 2 bin 55. We get there it's behind a gate also with a price tag of $179.99. But two workers say we can't have it and we now need to go to isle 20 and get an order . We go to isle 20 get the order it's now $199 go to the front to pay for it (we are now 20 minutes into our adventure) we tell the women the item is priced 179.99 in not one but TWO locations with pictures to prove. She can't change the price , we have to go back to isle 20 , go back , this girl can't change the price but talked to a manager, writes on our ticket and tells us they can override the price. Go back to the register to pay now we are a good 40 minutes into this adventure and the cashier says no calls a manager and the manager says no . We can pay and they can refund us. After 40 minutes of running around a store for one item that is misplace and apparently miss priced in 2 locations no. Literally we should have gotten a discount for the inconvenience and no help on any employees end. absolutely ridiculous when I was a ready paying customer that I couldn't even get to the item which was in stock in the store . This Round Rock location is smaller than the ones in Houston or Dallas. But in terms of the products, it is still the same IKEA, the good and the bad. One thing I do want to point out is that people need to realize that they are dealing with mostly Build-It-Yourself (BIY) furniture here. You can't expect anything BIY to be as durable as professionally constructed pieces, no matter how much they cost. Holes might not be precisely drilled and hinges might be bendy, but these are all trade-offs for being BIY. Too often I hear people complain about IKEA furniture being poor in quality. No duh. They are cheap processed wood after all... Anyways... I've been buying and using BIY furniture in apartments for as long as I can remember and IKEA does has some of the best BIY pieces on the market. I've owned their GALANT desks, LACK coffee/side tables, BILLY and EXPEDIT shelves, and many other smaller items. Heck, I even used their $1 TOLSBY photo frames as sign holders during my wedding reception (apparently it's a pretty popular cost-saving move). And today, I still own many of them. I think my favorite thing about IKEA furniture is that they look nice and function well enough to own long-term, but at the same time not too nice that I would feel bad about giving them away when I move. Oh, and did I mention about checking out their showroom for interior design ideas? As for the food, I would suggest giving their meatballs a try. I finally tried them recently during their Swedish Midsummer Smorgasbord ($10 meatball + other stuff buffet). I'm not addicted enough to take my family here just to have dinner (some people do) but those meatballs were definitely live up to their reputations. read more

If you join their family plan you get an extra 30 minutes in the kids play area! They are so thorough about making sure your child is signed in correctly and safe when you drop them off, they double check your paper and their sticker that says who they are. They also have a company come in and clean the bouncy balls that they play in, movies to watch, toys to play with too. We've done this twice and both times he had a great experience. I just bought the most awesome toy storage called "Trofast", we put it together today and it really saved space and organized his toys so well. Once our son gets older he could use it for so many things like school books, sport stuff, music, you name it. The store is huge, its like a massive maze, so definitely make use of that map they have through out the store, otherwise you will get lost. read more

The facility is always clean, their staff members are plenty and always ready to help. The restrooms are clean but need a little do over. I also like that they have the restaurant. Shopping always makes me hungry so this is perfect, right in the middle of the path of shopping. Love the convenience of it and the easy layout of the store and warehouse. I also like how they have model rooms everywhere so one can see how pieces can work together and give you ideas for ones own home. What is this place? Why are people so in love with it?? I went last Saturday for the first time ever with my boyfriend, it was also his first time. We were complete newbs. I was in search of a chair for my living room. Walking in was so incredibly over whelming. I was so confused on where to start or where to go or where to look. I was wishing there was an employee in the entrance giving us the break down so that we could know how things worked and if there are any hacks to avoid from getting overwhelmed. Here is my problem with IKEA: For a complete newcomer, it is the MOST terrifying experience in all of life. WHY in the ever living eff would you make the customer walk through the entire store to ultimately end up in the warehouse where we can just pick the item our damn selves? WHY would you not have MORE employees in the beginning letting the customer know that there are shortcuts and that you need to write down the product number to remember what you liked. The litle that I liked about IKEA: Now I appreciate that IKEA lays out the items as it would look in a normal home, yes, that is VERY helpful. I also appreciate the cheap food. Like $1 for a cinnamon roll? That is freaking BOMB AF.... Where else are you gonna find that? Officially hate ikea Ordered a toy storage unit for pick up. Husband goes to get because I'm 34.5 weeks pregnant and it's nearly an hour away. I notice on the pick up, ID is required. Navigate through my order to see if I can update my husband as a pick up person, nope cannot. I call customer service to ask what to do? They tell me your right you cannot add him, you must order again and designate him as a pick up person. Now I've ordered the same thing twice. My husband is actively driving that way because he's sweet and doesn't want me doing it during the pandemic and I am staying home with our two year old who doesn't need to be in the car for 3 hours. My husband gets there with order 1 and order 2 confirmations numbers. They say nope you cannot pick up order 1 your name is not on the designated pick up (despite the fact we have the same last name and address on his ID, but ok I was expecting that and followed their suggestion to order it again). He waits for order 2 to be "ready" which is the same thing and sitting right there. Over an hour later order 2 is ready. They bring him both order 1 and order 2, now all the sudden he can have the order 1 without his name as the pick up person (even though this was the original problem) so now he has two orders loaded into his truck. Customer service states not to pick up order 1 leave it and it will be restocked and I will be credited. Ikea employees tell my husband nope It's yours now, take it inside to return it!!!! Husband goes inside to return it and again the issue that it is under me arises again!!!! My husband says can I leave it here and refuse to pick it up... nope! They want me there in person with my debit card. Let's not forget the original issue here according to their rules and directions he shouldn't even have possession of item 1. The only thing they are willing to do is give him a gift card. Which by the way...no we don't want your gift card to this business that has an ass for a head okay. They proceed to mock my husband and make fun of him for stating he doesn't want a gift card, that in fact we will never purchase a single ikea item ever again in our whole life. Now my husband is on the way home with two toy storage units. Now I get to take another day to drive 1 hour there and 1 hour back. Likely with my two year old screaming in the back 70% of that time. Big store, I used to go to one in Europe, so every time I go there it reminds me old times. Affordable prices, not always the best quality but you always can find something for you. Kids love play area there and if you have IKEA membership card you will get a free cup of tea/coffee every time you go to cafeteria. Never had any issues with service.
