I absolutely love this place! I try to buy more of my furniture here and different items that I need for the home. The prices are great and it is like Costco but in the furniture business. This location is perfect because it is near other stores such as Target and a small mall. They also have 24-hour fitness close by. The parking is really decent. There might be some walking because we cannot always get close parking, but it is not too bad. So there will be a walk through, a tour of everything you need for the home, office, dorm room, closets, such and such. Along the way, there are separate bins to pick things up from. They have large yellow bags so you can shop, or regular carts, or the flatbed type carts to push your items. They have a pencil, paper, and paper measurements available so you can write down the aisle and number of items that you want to get. I come here for the larger items, but sometimes pick up very useful things along the way. The prices are incredible, they are not wholesale prices but they are really affordable. I should have come here for my bed set instead of living spaces, the prices are so much better and selection is wider. The thing with IKEA is, I want everything that they sell in here. The design, the function, how modern and unique it is, makes it special. Within my visits, I never had any issues with the service here. I just see what I like, take a picture, go downstairs to the first floor and pick it up from the self-serve racks. They also have a food court here, they have hot dogs, meatballs, soda, mac and cheese for the kids and so on. They calculated every thing so that you always pay the exact amount and no coins are required. if it says $5, you will pay $5 not $5.49. Which is great! What I do not like is the carts here, they can be a little tricky to push. But overall, I love IKEA and this location is great! read more

Yes its the place you go when you need inspiration to setup a new room, play with fake electronics that look the real thing, and end your day with MEATBALLS. If you have been to an ikea this is one of their average size locations. The space they have is well used, starting you from the top, they let you work your way down. You usually won't find any customer support staff on your trek through the unknown but you really shouldn't need any. Furniture, price, decide, and move on to next item. Once you get to the ground floor don't forget to visit the discounted (reject) section for some pretty good deals. Sometimes you find stuff you absolutley don't need but you buy anyways, why, because dammit u can't walk away from a pack of 30 candles for 5$. They were short on stock, and suddenly one became available for pickup in Carson, nearest to my office. I ordered it for pick up, thinking at least now I know where the pick-up area is. The next morning at 8:51 a.m. I get an e-mail saying "Jeffrey, your order is ready for pick-up! " So I hopped down there to find the store was closed. And wouldn't open until 10 a.m. No one there to hand me the product. What? So I left. I didn't have time to wait, and it wasn't a short drive, so I couldn't go back. Order cancelled. Before describing my horrible experience with Ikea, I want to clarify that I'm no longer angry and I'm not holding a grudge against the company, specific individuals, or even discounting the quality of Ikea's items. My fiancé and I ordered the bedframe and mattress from Ikea.com. It seemed simple, but when we received our delivery, we had two problems: 1. The headboard had a hole in it 2. There was no mattress! Instead we had another head board from a mixed up order *Strike one We went back to the store and got the headboard replaced. We waited in line for over an hour and they wouldn't allow us to buy the mattress from the store. Ikea wouldn't even allow employees to coordinate on our behalf. We had to spend another hour on the phone to figure out what happened *Strike two Ikea.com rescheduled the delivery. My fiancée took time off of work to wait for it and it never showed up. No one called. Just radio silence. We spent another two hours trying to figure out what happened. It turns out the replacement mattress was damaged. *Strike three They still were not able to send the mattress, so I had to call again. It was the holidays, but now I was without a mattress for close to three weeks now. They said they would rush the order for me on the same day. Once again, I never received a call or an update. *Strike four I had to call again and spend another hour to re-tell my story to yet another Ikea representative. Fifth time is a charm! They finally shipped my mattress the next day, but here's the kicker. They never called me! Luckily, I didn't travel for the holidays and I was hope to sign-off. After all this, the best Ikea could do was give me a $100 store gift card. I love Ikea products (who doesn't?), but after this it's tough to recommend them. I bought my two wack cabinets paid for them after walking around the block to pick up my items I was told by "Amby" that I couldn't pick them up because I need it to get an email from them. If I could give this store ZERO stars, I WOUKD. So I placed an order through the Ikea website to puck up using Task Rabbit (which is a delivery service they offered through their website). I didnt have a name for the tasker to put as the pick up until after I finished my order. Once i got the name I called Ikea and added the taskers name for pick up. The guy got there and MARISA would not give him the order. I calledIkea and verified with three people that the tasker who was scheduled for pick had his name on the order and they said yes. No breakfast at this Ikea, in case you didn't realize. Apparently they stopped serving 6-8 months ago (mid-2016). I'd gone early-ish because of breakfast... but whatever (not a huge deal). The only "breakfast" item was their cardboard-tasting cinnamon rolls. After patiently snaking my way through the two floors of Ikea Showrooms (tons and tons of items to peruse and pick from + 1 floor of boxed items), I had some Swedish meatballs for lunch. The meatballs looked very similar to the picture, covered in gravy alongside the mashed potatoes and linkenberry jam. However, the veggies in the pictures were very different from the ones they served. The Swedish meatballs were just what I expected... good! Everything is like a maze. You have to walk through different rooms and somehow you end up in the spot where you started. There are not people helping you out. After you look at all the display rooms, some of the items aren't available till the end or they have to ship it. If there is an item not available at the beginning, when you are about to exit there are rows filled with boxes and you have to search for the item you want. I've been to Ikea numerous times and have never really been impressed with the furniture. The one thing that does impress here is the Swedish meatballs. Based on the Swedish meatballs alone, Ikea would receive 5 stars. If you've never tried them, you must. 15 tender, meaty, flavorful balls of delight are accompanied by mashed potatoes, gravy, and a delicious lingonberry sauce. The sauce is ever so slightly sour, sweet, and refreshing. I enjoy dipping the meatballs in the lingonberry sauce, as well as mixing some into the mashed potatoes. I always ask for extra gravy. Ikea's food loses points because the line takes forever. On our most recent visit, we stood in line for 20 minutes on a Sunday. They know it's going to be a busy day, yet only have one cashier and one food handler putting orders together. I've been there on weekdays where they had two cashiers at the register, and the line moved much faster. They lose more points because the side order of mac n cheese for $2 is ridiculously small (see photo). I've had most of the other items and they're average--pizza, hot dogs, chips, etc. Ikea's furniture can be hit or miss. The store is well laid out, and overall it's ok. I don't have much furniture in my house that is actually functional and practical from Ikea; I've always viewed them as a huge novelty/gimmicky store. Others may disagree, but that's my view on Ikea. Not bad, but not the greatest IKEA store ever IMO. They've generally always had what I was looking for, and they do have a huge parking lot with plenty of spots. Customer service is generally pretty darn good, and lines might be long at times but they do move quickly. The café upstairs is rather small, and so is the snack bar downstairs. If you want the full IKEA experience, trek on down to the huge one in Costa Mesa, but be prepared for more crowds. read more

I cannot stress how horrible my experience has been not only with customer service but with the delivery system they have. I ordered close to $3,000.00 worth of home and bedroom furniture to which they gave my a delivery date. I had to take off work as the delivery window was during the day time. I called two days in advance of said delivery date and they did confirm that the truck would arrive at the times listed. Not only did they not show up they did not even call to let me know that the delivery was delayed. Customer service then tells me that the furniture will for sure be coming two days later. Well I already took one day off of work now I will have to take a second day off to receive furniture that you failed to deliver on time or notify me that you would not meet your previous obligation? Giving five stars for the returns and exchange department & also the manager. Backstory, I had purchased a living room set from ikea about 3 weeks ago. I opted out for the delivery service which was scheduled to be delivered one week later from day of purchase on a Monday. Long story short I never received my items and for one whole week I was back and forth with the delivery company. I went in store for a refund and spoke to the manager. I decided that I still wanted my items and she was kind enough to Check if the items were in stock. They promised me to have next day delivery at 9:00 am. They are scheduling a delivery date with me. Instead it was a call about how I didn't purchase a flat that goes with the bed and I need the flat. It was only $30 so I told them to add it to my order. They tell me the delivery charge is additional $30. I am already paying $99 for the delivery of my bed and mattress so I told them they cannot charge me extra. After 2 hours talking to them on the phone, they were getting really rude and would not budge to help me out at all so I decided to cancel my order. 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE! and I thought I finally cancelled it.... But no. I don't get a cancellation email or a credit back in my bank and it's been 4 days. The worst service ever and IKEA isn't all that great either. No more IKEA. Their business suck. read more

Yes, it's a maze, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can get stuck here forever, but once you figure out all the shortcuts, etc., it's a breeze. Every time I come in, I grab a frozen yogurt, because it's cheap and always hits the spot. I've been coming here ever since I was a little kid, and just like before, I always navigate the store backwards. I come in through the registers and head straight to the As-Is section. Over the years, we've picked up a lot of amazing deals here. One time, we got a cabinet because the legs were not even, but when we got it home, we found out that all you had to do was screw the legs up or down to adjust. This Ikea is good. The set up is basically the same in pretty much all Ikeas I think. Although I can't really say since I've only gone to the one in Burbank and the one here. This place is like a maze. The way you get in is you enter around the corner, and take an escalator up to the third floor. (There is no secret door to enter in through the glass windows that display the elevators... *ahem* Frank M) From there, you are herded around the showroom where they FORCE you to walk by/see everything, before descending onto the second floor. The same thing happens. You're herded around in a circle. And, when you're done, you take the stairs down to the first floor where you are able to gain your freeeeeeeeeedom! I refuse to succumb! Sometimes, I take their expertly hidden shortcuts to "kind of" cut through seeing everything. Or, I just go in through the exit and walk up to the second floor. It's easier than going up to the top, and walking down. Other times, I just allow myself to follow the herd. It's actually fun walking through Ikea. Their furniture is nice. Although, they are not meant to be taken apart. There are nice slipcovers here. Their curtain selection is not that nice. Not a very big plant section. In the cafe on the first floor, I usually like to get their ice cream cone. Parking: They have their own lot. Easy to find parking. read more

I ordered a new bed among other items online with delivery in order to avoid the line to pay up to the second floor they have nowadays. Yet they gave me a delivery date of over a month later, being that my money was deducted on the spot I was not happy to have to sleep on the floor for over a month. I tried calling their customer service to request an earlier delivery date, but was never able to reach a human, only a recording that states they are too busy to take my call (but not too busy to take my money). Anyway, drove half hour to this place and the manager was of no help telling me to go stand in line for customer service. I was forced to stand in line outside in the hot sun for about an hour, at which time I was fed up and decided to cancel the order and get a full refund. Never doing business with Ikea again. Who does not like IKEA? Going into their showroom sends me back to adventures into candyland when I was a kid - tons of vibrant colors, inexpensive prices, massive variety of merchandise, items that make me salivate (lamps, linens, dinnerware). Never overwhelming, but much to titillate the senses. Today we had a goal - purchase a toy cabinet with retractable bins. Not much time for wandering and meandering through the store. We checked the catalog previous to going to the store. Although we don't shop at IKEA regularly, we always keep a catalog on hand for quick research, and wishful shopping. When we walked into the store, we found a stand with a catalog, a map of the store (it's so large - 3 floors - we needed a guide to find our way to the right department), a box of pencils, and a yardstick to check for the correct height/width/length. These stations are conveniently positioned all over the store. Lots of store assistants on hand to field questions or offer direction. Found the display of toy shelves on the second floor. Wanted to compare two units and check for new inventory. Jotted down the location of Aisle, Bin where we'd find the unassembled shelf. Most of IKEA furniture is boxed and must be assembled. On the way out we stopped at the uber clean restroom. Smelled freshly floral. No hand towels, they use energy efficent blowers to dry hands. Noticed a sign posted over the blower - IKEA provides free diapers to moms who might have run out. Thoughtful. We also stopped at the 2nd floor snack shop. Last time we were at IKEA the 2nd floor and main dining area were packed. Not too many diners this time. I wondered if newstories about horsemeat found in IKEA's famous meatballs (in Europe) might have discouraged lunch time traffic. I wanted to stop at the linens. It's spring . . . time for new linens, but I passed. I wanted to stop at the cookware . . . looking for a paella pan. No time. I wanted to stop at the bathroom fixtures . . . no time. We needed to get home to assemble the new shelf and reorganize toys. We picked up our box and checked out quickly. Lots of cashiers. Luckily we didn't have to schlep that heavy box too far. They have lots of convenient parking surrounding the store. We'll definitely have to make another trip to IKEA real soon. Maybe next time we'll try the Costa Mesa store. read more

The one thing I don't like about Ikea is the way they lay out their stores. It's like a maze. More like a hamster habit-trail for mindless humans. This store has an outside escalator that takes you directly up to the third floor. And, the elevator I got on will just go down but not up. So, returning to an upper floor is a hassle. There's so much to look at, I tend to wander off from the hubby and ALWAYS end up going around and around in circles looking for him. Every single time. Thank goodness for cell phones. Went to IKEA to return some items and babeeee what a morning! Now first of all, I've been going to IKEA since I was a young gal. My first luxury apartment at the age of 25 was completely furnished by Ikea and I have shopped there off and on now for years. Never had a bad experience until today! So first of all I got there when they opened because I have lots of stuff to do before leaving town tomorrow. I was literally the first one in line. Turns out you have to sign in via your cell phone and wait to be called. That process sucks. It's like making an appointment to return something. Sooo I didn't have my phone on me so I have to use the kios. All the people behind me did it with their phone and got ahead of me! So I had a lot of little things and there was no carts to use. I'm standing at the door literally on the threshold and the black guy with dreds said you can't be in here. I literally take one step back. Then I use a grey cart and he sees me load my stuff then afterwards say you can't use that and your items need to be outside. In a rude way!!!!! Then I was complaining about being here first but then see people behind me go first. A lady said go ahead of me. Guy with dreds said no!!!!! The worst customer service ever!!!! I finally returned my items then I'm leaving and see the girl who returned my items giving customers carts and actually unloading items from the car!!! I said wow, wish I could get service like that and she said when you're nice to us we're nice to you! Clearly ikea doesn't train their employees on customer service!
