I've been to this place twice, and both times the same Asian female employee at the entrance was extremely rude. When I showed her my officially certified service dog ID and explained the training and purpose, she still spoke to me in a dismissive tone, saying my dog couldn't come in and that she needed to "check with her manager." She made me wait both times, stared at us as if doubting what I said, and even ended with "please be careful," which felt very condescending. The way she treats service dogs and customers is unprofessional and unacceptable. I will not be returning. read more

This ikea sucked back in 2008 when I bought a kitchen from them and I had to intercept the order because it was sooooo delayed and it sucks still. I placed a small order yesterday for pick up today between 1-2 pm. it's 3:30 and it's STILL NOT READY!!! Whyyyyyy?????? You can't call, you can't talk to anyone, the chat is a bot. Your only choice is to go there, park, get out of your car, run the 10k aisles and stand in line and get your stuff in your car. This is one of the largest IKEA stores as told to me by the IKEA Burbank staff. Be prepared to get lost because it is a big store or ask for help while navigating your way throughout. They do have a wide selection. On my visits I've been able to find most things. There's been a couple of times when I've gone for a specific item that wasn't in stock even after checking the in-store kiosk for availability. I've also noticed vending machines filled with IKEA snacks for purchase located throught the store. This can help provide some fuel to continue shopping as once you get to a certain point there is no turning back. I learned that the hard way. It took me forever to retrace my steps for an item. They say there are shortcuts but it didn't seem like a short cut to me. Sorry Ikea, it's been a few years since our last visit as the restaurant was closed for over a couple of years.... Upon our return, we appreciate the member coffee being complimentary. We arrived for breakfast just before regular store hours. Parking was easy and free. These are the perks. Unfortunately, the breakfast and selection was subpar. The eggs are just odd. Are they powdered? Freeze dried and cooked in water? The look and texture are more like cottage cheese than egg. So we get our platter of the medium breakfast, taters, mystery eggs, 2 bacon strips, and 2 Swedish pancakes for $5.99. A very good deal for breakfast, and. of course, the coffee. So you order cafeteria style and have your food on a tray and wait in line for the sole attendant to ring you up. There was an employee on lunch or break behind us. The cashier asked if he could ring them up first. I get it it, because they are on limited time, and probably have to trek 3 miles from their work location to the cafe and back.... however, by the time we pay, collect silverware, try to fiddle around with the condiment dispensers which none of were working.... Note to Staff: Prime the pump. All the condiments had to be pumped and NONE of them produced any product.... I think whoever refilled didn't remove a safety seal.... anyway, who needs the extra calories, but a frustrating waste of precious time as the food now is colder than room temperature... What are you going to do about it... not worth the hassle. We took a lap through the store since it was now open. The prices seem quite a bit higher and the selection was limited in the food section. We used to get frozen Swedish pancakes and princess cake to go. They didn't have them. The frozen salmon and coffee prices have gone up significantly. There used to be some fantastic florentine cookies in a box, not anymore... So pretty disappointing after waiting so long for the cafe to reopen to visit. read more

2 words for this business: deceiving & misleading. The Ikea here is a joke especially their customer service. Save your time and go elsewhere. I highly recommend you don't come here to shop unless you absolutely sure you want to keep their stuff! My review is mainly about the return experience I have with them. The issue that I experienced was the local Ikea (Burbank, CA) is refusing to accept my returns. Per the policies on the Ikea website, "If you're not totally satisfied with your IKEA purchase you can return new and unopened products within 365 days, together with your proof of purchase, for a full refund. You may also return open products within 180 days, with your proof of purchase, for a full refund." I purchased kitchen items December 5, 2022 and I was not satisfied with their quality after using them once or twice. The items returned were plates, utensils, jugs, and containers. I went to the local Ikea at Burbank, CA to return them on April 17, 2023 at approximately 5:30 pm. Please note that these items are well within the 180 days for open items per the Ikea policies. I had my receipt for quick return, the items were in excellent condition. However, the associate at the return area was giving us the hardest time after waiting a long time in the return line. Also, the manager (Dan) refused to take the return stating that these items were opened and they only accept unopened and unused items. Please note that the manager only glanced at the amount of items I returned, he did not check which items were used and which items were not used. My time and money were wasted, not to mention feeling deceived because the Ikea employees do not adhere to the written policies. I have called the Ikea resolution team, and they have advised me to reach out to corporate Ikea. I then reached out to their corporate office via phone and email, they responded. Only that it was basically an automated general response. It was the biggest waste of my time. If I can give this place a -100 stars, I would be happy to do so. How can a big corporation not follow their own written policies? That just blows my mind every time I think about it. You just lost a customer over a $500 purchase. read more

As soon as we walked up (about 3:00) there was an over flowing trash, but then as soon as we went in there were about 10 employees standing around, possibly having a meeting. Definitely someone could have taken care of the eyesore outside. As we shopped we noticed the prices were equivalent to a place like Target. I have always gone to IKEA, and I love their selection, but this time there were so many empty spaces and white tarps. I love that there are upcoming changes, but let's at least take out the trash (there was trash all around the can on the ground too). The employees in the yellow shirts were all rude, except for the person who checked us out. She was nice. When I say nice, I mean she greeted us, was patient, smiled, and said thank you at the end. Those are my expectations, nothing too crazy. The guy who checked us out when we were getting our food though, was horrible. He was sucking on a sucker, didn't say hello, and just handed us our receipt and didn't look at us or say thank you. He immediately just started talking to his friend before we even walked away. The kitchen staff was amazing. Food was pretty good (I got the plant-based balls). Overall, there were lots of employees who have zero customer service but a few were the exception. Overflowing trash cans, empty, sad backroom looking areas, and prices that were not super impressive. However, I did love the cute Christmas displays they are working on. read more

So bummed I paid $220 for a product that is not only crumbling trying to put together, but the price I paid for a shelving unit. I will never buy furniture here again. Worst experience with the Clip n collect curbside. I will not be purchasing any items or even using their curb side pick up again. When we arrived to pick up our order it said that it was going to be a 5-7 min wait. That was a lie. We waited over 20 mins to the point I had to get out of the car and go and collect our curbside pick up item which defeats the purpose of having a curbside pick up order. The curbside delivery woman was extremely rude and very unprofessional. There were many other employees there and she gave me the excuse of I'm the only one here. I asked why could they not update the system to reflect the extremely long wait and she gave me no answers other than here's your item and you can take it yourself to your car. When my husband tried to contact IKEA Burbank directly however the only number we could find was to a call center who really didn't care to speak to him or even try to find a solution to the problem. I see this place doesn't get the best reviews, but I've been to IKEA's from across the country, New York and California and I find the employees at this location to be the absolute best. They all have a great attitude. They're funny and extremely helpful maybe aside from the food court where they're a bit grumpy and have cold pretzels that are supposed to be warm and delightful, but I'm not taking away for, the grumpy food court employees and they're cold pretzels. This location is one of my favorites. It is so big and so clean. Like any other Ikea, there is so much to see and so much inspiration to decorate your own house. I really enjoyed the showrooms and felt that this location had a lot more. The store is massive so that's probably why. I love the new showrooms for outdoor areas. Gave me a few ideas for my patio. The cafes in the store are so big and they actually have 2. The parking is huge and there are 2 entrances. Again, prices are great at this location. I love IKEA. From getting to walk through all their different showrooms, to growing their marketplace and of course eating in their cafe; this whole store is an experience. They have the map layout of the store hanging around the store with short cuts if you don't want to walk through the whole thing. If you're looking for a specific item you can ask a staff member and they will give you a print out of exactly where to find it in the stock room. Their cafe is a great spot if you want to rest from the browsing. With surprisingly good food at great prices and a large seating area it's not something to overlook. They also have a concession stand type spot after you pay where they have hotdogs, icees, pretzels and other snacks. And on top of that they have A LOT of parking; including an underground garage! read more

It's IKEA, so you pretty much know what you're going to get. The staff was not very proactive in supplying help, but were available and always ready to answer questions for customers who were bold enough to ask. The problem is that not every customer is bold enough to ask. I really only shop the Marketplace, where they have misc. doodads & this section seems to be getting less organized, if that's possible, and less fun. My biggest problem with IKEA is and has ALWAYS been that the exits are not adequately marked. In fact, I have no idea how the fire department lets them get away with it. If something awful were to happen, it would be chaos inside. I hope it never happens, but part of my job IRL is to safeguard customers from all manner of danger and this completely inadequate signage makes my flesh crawl. read more

I visited the IKEA in Burbank on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 around 5 PM. I went directly to the kitchenware section on the lower floor. As I walked in, a female staff member at the entrance made eye contact, looked me up and down, and then glared at me with a disgusted expression. It was extremely rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. When I looked back a few minutes later, she was still doing the same thing to others with the same hostile expression. If this is how IKEA greets customers, it's honestly disturbing. I don't know if this is a training issue or just an unprofessional employee, but it completely ruined the experience for me. I've always gone to this IKEA even before they moved to the current location when it was just across California pizza kitchen btw it's gone now and always the service was good because the workers were always helpful and attentive if you can track one down haha this place is big! They always have good deals and products that are not bad in quality! The most thing I appreciate the most is the fact they have incorporated more and more Swedish food or at least what they might be selling in a Swedish grocery store I wouldn't know but i appreciate it because some of their products are good and theirs a variety of them. I frequent this place just to shop for furniture like most, going to their kitchen which btw I finally got to have their breakfast and it's decent, affordable and actually tastes pretty good and also I just go here to just walk around which is great exercise. I love ikea, everyone is super nice and amazing and for me it's like Disneyland for adults. However the lady at the front is rude and obnoxious, and started yelling at random people coming in. My family has been going to IKEA forever since they were at their original space in Burbank across from B&N. Today, we went for breakfast (yes, meatballs for breakfast is a thing), and it was pretty good. They have a really inexpensive breakfast special for less than $3 "the small" and a medium breakfast for less than $6. Crepes seem to be the extra item that makes it bigger, but honestly, they aren't worth it. They're just OK. IKEA IS A TOTAL DISASTER!! We spent so much time with the Ikea rep, who was very nice and helpful, to design our kitchen with a particular cabinet. When we were ready to order the cabinets, we found out, to our total dismay, that some of the cabinet pieces were missing. The Ikea rep was not even able to look at her system and tell us if the missing cabinet pieces were available anywhere else in the country. Their system would not allow her to do this. We visited this Ikea on three different days and spent hours designing and selecting the cabinets, but all this time was a total waste. Their system of ordering and inventory is a total DISASTER, and it was a total waste of our valuable time. Now we are stuck and do not know what to do. This review is for the staff at IKEA Burbank, specifically Daniella and the risk management team. I had a minor accident at the store yesterday (nothing the store did--I was just clumsy and fell), and Daniella immediately sprang into action and contacted other team members to help provide first aid. She stayed with me the whole time, and she sought me out and asked after me once I'd been patched up. She even offered to get me a wheelchair so that I wouldn't have to put weight on an injured leg, but I declined it. The risk management team were also fantastic. They got me ice packs, sat me down in a quieter part of the store, and took a full report. They even took my contact information so they can check in on me later to ensure I'm okay. I've shopped at this IKEA location for years, and the fantastic customer service and support is one of the main reasons why. You can tell that they truly care about their customers! read more

REVIEW FOR THE CAFE! Selection of food is really good‍ they cater to most diets. The cashier/workers are so friendly, like beyond friendly- I wanted to cry from being thankful/grateful. I'm a single mom, pushing my toddler in the cart & tryna hold a full tray, pay & get to a table w/o dropping all the food/plates on the tray while getting my kid there safely. This review is for their meatballs - which kids love You can get a meatball sundae at the express counter, which is next to checkout. It has 3 meatballs on top of mashed potatoes and with gravy and jam for $2.5. However, I prefer getting the sides at the restaurant on second floor. You can also ask for gravy and jam. They ran out of jam today tho. I also love their fries. But stay away from their Mac and cheese. It was Mac and sauce (where's the cheese?) and quite mushy. The hot entrees are alright. On May 5th, 2025, I had a disturbing encounter with an IKEA employee named Allie at the self-checkout at the Burbank, CA location. When I sought help with the machine that was not working for me, Allie reacted with frustration, displayed racist behavior, and showed arrogance. The employee's gestures and comments humiliated me in front of fellow customers. Furthermore, Allie's response implied that I was incapable of resolving the issue, which was embarrassing. He made me feel like a dumb, uneducated individual and commented "Other people are able to fugure it out" and walked away and ignored me. People were staring at me. I was humiliated. That night his behavior aggravated my health issues further and that is the reason why my review got prolonged. As a long-standing IKEA customer who has consistently supported the store, I am appalled by Allie's behavior and have decided to discontinue shopping at IKEA, along with my family as long as this unprofessional employee is at the Burbank location. read more

I had Ikea delivered before Christmas holiday and was happy to skip the crowds and lines. But I do love to visit in person and test out the food. Lately, food quality has dropped. We had breakfast and then lunch. Breakfast eggs were weird, somewhat worse than a cafeteria. The Swedish meatballs meal at lunch was good. The pasta in marinara sauce was subpar, they did not drain the liquid which made it soupy. Dessert of chocolate cake was excellent. So in summary, a mixed bag. read more
