Out of the IKEAs that I've been to in LA County this one is by far the better one. They have a covered parking garage and a cafeteria serving you IKEA's signature foods. The cafeteria is up and running now and they have their process down where you'll be assigned a table. Simple and easy! Not sure why all the low ratings for this location. Prob just people venting per usual. Not many complaints for me other than they were out of stock of some items. IKEA used to be one of my all time favorite haunts to frequent between seeking inspiration, furnishing my home, and grabbing a bite with my family. The furniture was rarely ever of great quality. Me and my friends would refer to their goods as "disposable furniture" as rearranging a room if not relocating residences can disintegrate your purchase. But it was cheap, and that was the trade off. However, the last few times I've visited, nothing is competitively priced anymore. Even the cafeteria is no longer a bargain. It's still a spectacle for a walk through. But if you're a smart shopper in today's economy who is trying to stretch your dollar, one glance at Amazon shows better looking furniture for way less money. Plus, Amazon will bring it to your home vs you standing in the parking lot playing Tetris with loading your car. Sometimes there's a decent enough deal to find there if you're going with little to no shopping agenda. But there's still not enough incentive to merit a trip to IKEA anymore ...especially if one is factoring in today's gas prices for every single outing they make. Sadly I think IKEA will become a faint memory for me just as Bed Bath and Beyond, Sears, and Toys""Us did. This store has a weird and toxic smell, like acetone and mulch. I had a headache immediately and felt dizzy when I walked in. We came for the meatballs. Meatballs are good but the lines are long and the workers move at a snails pace. Very frustrating. It was a Wednesday and two adults in front of me ordered two kids meatball meals (kids eat free Wednesdays) and they obviously had no kids- workers did not question them so these people ate free. They did not appear to be poor at all and had shopping bags full of stuff with them. The restaurant is poorly run. Slow, inefficient and incompetent. We did come here to shop last July for college stuff for my oldest kid and the workers were standoffish and didn't seem interested in helping. The blankets we bought smelled musty when we took them out at home and even after washing we couldn't get the smell out. I don't think we will be back. read more

Oh IKEA. I have such a love/hate with you. On one hand I appreciate the range of products, great storage solutions and even plants, but I get frustrated with the lack of in-stock products and almost non-existent home shipping methods. I brace myself for it to be busy, as that comes with the territory. I totally get that the new pandemic era has changed product availability, but even their online inventory isn't very accurate. So making the trek for something that says there is 32 in stock and there is actually 0 is a little frustrating. This trip I did find a nice duvet and comforter, decent quality and price. Overall hit or miss for me and prices have definitely increased and quality is still average. Lastly, as we were checking out, using the self-checkout we noticed an item didn't have tag. We asked an employee working in this area to assist us and she said we would need to go to a register or try and find the item barcode online. It was pretty busy so we didn't want to wait in line (again), so luckily after a couple of minutes we found the barcode. It just seemed odd that the employee working in this section couldn't help us find the barcode to expedite the situation. Still will shop for certain items, but not as frequently. read more

I just had the worst experience with IKEA!!!! I'm an IKEA family member over 10 years! Spent thousands of dollars at IKEA! We bought a bed on November 2023 and I was submitting an online return after IT INJURED MY 5 YEAR OLD SON!!! The bed was wiggling constantly and probably was defected. After IKEA approved my return, my husband spent about 3 hours to disassemble the bed so we can take it to the store. We drive with two cars so the bed will fit. Unfortunately!!! Upon arrive to the IKEA store at Burbank CA, the store manager Jessica, and return manager Jackie , told us that the item can't be return because we passed the return window by 30 day! We showed them the return approval from IKEA, but they were extremely rude and refused to help us. We even put IKEA on the phone and asked them "why did you send us the approval and send us all the way here (not to mention that we had to get a babysitter to watch the kids!) and they won't return the bed. After talking on the phone with IKEA rep, which all he could do is just to apologize but couldn't help us as well, and mentioned that it's the store decision if they can return it (which is ridiculous if you buy a product from a big store like IKEA!). COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available for customers to go shopping with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was grabbing some stuff from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive. They have so many parking lots and spots. Each parking spot is pretty massive, so you don't have to worry about people dinging your car. Food: I ordered 2 vanilla soft serve ice cream, 2 cinnamon buns, and 4 hot dogs. The vanilla soft service ice cream was wayyy to sweet for me, so I decided to remove a star. The cinnamon buns were also very sweet, small, and a bit hard. Their hot dogs were super tiny. They were nothing like the Costco hot dogs. You can probably fit 3 IKEA hot dogs into one of the Costco hot dogs. That's how small it is. The hot dog was still very good though. IKEA in Burbank, CA is the largest IKEA in North America and so fun to shop at! The cafeteria is sparkling clean and very comfortable and convenient before or after a trek through the expansive store. I was surprised the store was so quiet when I visited on a Tuesday evening during the holiday shopping season but thankful because I only stopped in for a few items I was quickly able to navigate towards what I needed and to the checkout. The cafeteria closed at 8pm, I arrived at 7:40p, and it was slim pickings. I would have liked that the cafeteria had small batches of all food on standby for straggler shoppers, but I was satisfied with my meal. Regardless, the food is always delicious and fresh. read more

I wouldn't normally dare enter an IKEA during the weekend yet alone the weekday. But of course covid, you tend to get stir crazy. We hadn't plan on this visit but as it was mid week and needing to get out of the house, the trip seemed ok. First off, we didn't think it was open as we entered from the side near the roundabout and the top level entrance was blocked off. Did notice someone sitting there at the front but just thought they were there to let people know it was closed. We did find out later that it was open and only the underground parking lot was open. Good start IKEA, they were on point with everything. Going up to the main entrance, they had it all guided with the directions on entrance. You're greeted with an employee at the main entrance. They're there to let a certain amount in at a time but with it being midweek it was pretty mellow. We came to look at something and hoping to talk to someone about a project. But even though it was still kind of a waiting game to actually talk to someone. They had plenty of people on the floor but not where we needed them. As it was busy in that department. Anyways, still walked around as I haven't been here in forever. I think the layout changed. But never have I ever been where there was plenty of cashier on hand waiting for people. It was so quiet at the cashier. First time for everything. I did leave with some snacks. The market is quite nice at the exit. Get here early! My first attempt was on a Saturday afternoon and even before I got into the parking lot, I could see a line that was formed with people waiting to get inside. I came back Sunday morning and getting in was a breeze. There are areas that were overly crowded. I wish there were employees that would manage traffic. I've heard that this is the largest IKEA in the country, and it feels like it! It's a little disappointing though that they're still frequently sold out of marketplace items. This is the new IKEA location in Burbank, CA. As I mentioned in the "headline" this store is MASSIVE! It is the largest IKEA I have ever been to, and it feels like it as well. I don't actually know if it's the largest in the United States, but it's definitely the largest in the Southern California area. The building is new, and it feels clean, sleek, contemporary, and well... new. The showrooms are all a little larger than what you might expect and there are more of them. They will have every piece of furniture IKEA makes on display, that's for sure. When they're open the cafeterias and restaurants are also quite large, which matches the store. There's a large underground parking structure, which you'll usually be able to find parking in. There are also several lots around the building as well. However, the IKEA marketplace curse still applies. What is the marketplace curse? They'll be sold out of certain popular items. Now, it makes sense: the items are popular, so they're sold out. Except here's the frustrating part: if they're so popular ORDER MORE!!! There is this one plastic tub for instance that IKEA sells that they are ALWAYS sold out of. Same with some storage bins. JUST MAKE MORE OF THEM!!! It isn't that difficult. Anyway, it's frustrating that you might go to IKEA because you need one under-bed storage bin and then they don't have it. There are also too many people at this location. It doesn't matter COVID, before-COVID. You have to go on a weekday. If you go on the weekend, GOOD LUCK. During COVID they're limiting the number of people in the store and staggering people entering. Which means there's a long line out of the front entrance. Be careful, there is a SEPERATE line for returns. If you don't get there early enough you'll end up waiting 40min-an hour to get into the store. Overall, probably the best IKEA I've been to just on the size alone. But definitely not the most enjoyable experience (Woodbridge, VA still takes the cake). read more

I came here for a lunch time and had a great time, came for a study sesh, I came with all my essentials charged. I even went back to get a salad later on that day. On the floor in the cafeteria they don't have any service. They have a great Mediterranean salad and reasonable for the price. They also have basic breakfast for a good price. I don't really look for help when I go shopping on the floor, mainly because prior to my trip I look up if they have the item on the website prior to going in to the store. The store itself is pretty organized, smells amazing, especially by the candle section, but if you've never been here you got to go with someone who has, otherwise you may get lost so follow-up the map if needed. read more

Last night was my first time coming to IKEA since it moved. Had I know the space was so much larger than the last IKEA and the parking was so much easier too I would have come much sooner! It was a pleasure walking through the clean aisles. You MUST wear good walking shoes here. I came specifically for the IKEA blue shopping bag The FRAKTA & The large zippered storage bag The DIMPA. I have a lot of vintage clothing and just found out these bags are a major go to for people who love vintage! I also liked the zippered HASTAGE bag that I'll buy next time. It has a label holder so you can write what's inside! I'm going to start leaving some FRAKTA bags in the trunk of my car and I think that will be super useful. The FRAKTA was only 99 cents and the DIMPA is 6.99. HASTAGE is 2.99. When I checked out the employee was extremely courteous, well-spoken & helpful. I needed help to figure out which way to exit. I really love the Micro Apartment installation as you enter that is a model apartment set up with IKEA furnishings that gives you an idea of how to implement the pieces together. I had an hour to shop but the IKEA is so large I was only able to see the lower floor and not even all of the lower floor. This IKEA is that big! I thought sone of the hanging light options are beautiful for s low price. There are now options to have someone put the furniture together even and home delivery. Looking forward to going back and seeing the top floor and the rest of the lower floor I missed. I also forgot to check for the PARKLA storage case (1.99) and will definitely be going back for that one. Also I had no idea that you can do returns with the receipt for up to 365 days! read more

Going to IKEA is like going to Disneyland! I don't know what it is but there is a distinct feeling associated with going. Even if you don't have anything specific in mind, you can and will always find something you didn't know you needed. The parking lot is huge and there are stalls specific for loading as well as families with strollers. Not sure how effective this parking is but I parked there without having a huge family with me. If you've never been to an IKEA before, there are bathrooms, food court, full room displays and sections of items to shop through (lights, kitchenware, bedroom, etc). The pathway is guided by arrows so you don't get lost. They have carts that roll in every which direction when pushed or pulled. The items you view on the showrooms have numbers so you can locate in the warehouse portion (write them down to make it easier). Furniture items will need to be built, so be ready for that! I came to buy a Milsbo cabinet which had 2 boxes, so make sure you get all your parts when grabbing your item from the warehouse. At checkout, there is a self checkout lane if you'd prefer that is pretty user friendly. Have fun! read more

TLDR: If you ever get store credit on a gift card, CALL THE NUMBER ON THR BACK TO VERIFY THE AMOUNT BEFORE YOU GO HOME! Long Version: Last year, I bought a 4x1 Kallax Shelf and other small items. When I was building the shelf at home, I found the white paint/veneer layer was peeling off on a few pieces. A few days later, I went to Customer Service to return the shelf and received ~$60 store credit on an Ikea gift card. I used the gift card on the same day to buy another 4x1 Kallax Shelf. A few days later when I was building Shelf #2, I found that some of the pre-drilled holes in a few pieces were either on the wrong side or completely misaligned. Sigh, back to Ikea I go with the shelf, my original receipt and gift card. When they asked if I'd like to exchange it for an identical shelf, I opted to receive the ~$60 store credit again, so I can come back and shop for a better shelf. The CS Rep processed the return and refunded the ~$60 onto my gift card, took the shelf back, and I went on my merry way. A few months ago, I found my long lost Ikea gift card and decided to buy a bigger Kallax shelf this time (4x2). I was surprised at checkout when the cashier said THERE WAS $0 ON THE CARD. NOT A CENT. The manager and employees were super nice and sympathetic, but there was nothing they could do, because when they scanned my gift card, the ONLY info that came up was that the card was loaded and used on the same day. I'm completely frustrated and stumped; the only explanation I have was maybe the 1st CS Rep accidentally handed me a blank gift card instead of the one I brought? I don't shop at Ikea frequently, so there is absolutely no way I would've "confused" my Ikea gift card with another one at home. Either way, I lost ~$60. I should've called the # on the back of the card to verify the amount before I left the store. Please learn from my mistake! :( read more

We purchased a twin mattress that was advertised to be 7 1/8 inch thick, but it only expanded to 6 inches. Very flimsy, and cheap for $300. We took the mattress back to IKEA for a refund but they only give store credits if opened, even though this was false advertising. They would not give us credit back for the $40 delivery fee. Ikea quality has gone downhill substantially from 2 to 3 years ago. This was confirmed by the supervisor in the Burbank IKEA store. He told me the wood furniture is no longer made from solid wood but from composite which is much weaker. Even though they admitted this, they refused to repair, replace, refund, or even sell me a replacement part. Be careful, ikea does not offer the warranty on chairs they offer for items such as sofas. We returned to Ikea yesterday after a couple of years . We're just 9 miles away. We had a delicious lunch and then started our trek through the store. We picked up a few plates and bowls and some other items. It just seems that when we're ready to leave, it's difficult navigating back to the front of the store. There's not enough signage and not enough employees on the floor. Also, the arrows should be a little more demonstrative. After asking 2 employees, we finally made it back to the front. We came to the store for shopping with our dog. it is a service dog with a valid certificate. there are no problems with him, he does not bark, he is small in size, he took training courses, he behaves calmly. we offered them the option to take the dog with them to the store in a special pet backpack. This is DISCRIMINATION AND OPPRESSION! The administrator David told me that I have to leave my dog in the car despite of hot weather. How can this happen in today's world, it's terrible. It's tough to leave the dog in the car in the heat. The receptionist was very rude, he called security to kick us off.
