Well lets just say that this so called restaurant needs to close up for good. They do not even deserve 1 point of one star. We had a brand new waitress who had no clue what was on the menu. The tables were all disgusting dirty with food especially sticky syrup all over the table. We finally got to order our food, which we had to tell the waitress what it actually was by showing her the menu. The Belgium chocolate pancake stack that we ordered came out looking like the bottom of an elephant's foot, were extremely dry and the chocolate sauce that was to be oozing out from between each pancake did not even exist. It looked like someone took their finger and just did a finger swipe in the middle of each one. They ended up being completely unedible. The Southwest Scramble, which is scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, salsa and avocado. Well the first time it came out which was at least a half and hour after my husband got his so called pancakes, was not correct and the server took it back and it came out ten minutes later looking like all that was done was a spoonful of salsa and the shell of the avocado which was hard as a rock on top. As I was eating this, I ended up not only having to really chew the eggs as they were rubber bouncy balls but got a huge piece of egg shell to crunch down on. The hashbrowns that came with it were extremely overcooked on the top to the point where I would have broken my teeth to eat it and the underside was completely raw and undercooked. My husband asked to speak with the manager. The girl who came out looked to be no more than 18 years old and seemed more like a server who was asked to be acting manager as we have suspicion that the actual manager may have been arrested right before we got there because not long after we sat down, the police were in the dining room and spoke with the serving team. Other customers were also complaining to serving staff and we watched a couple of people just get up and walked out. We did not pay for our food as the possible acting manager said that since it was both of us that had issues, she took everything off the bill. Ok that was the least they could do after an experience like this. We also watched as others paid only half of the bill or no charge as well. Believe us, we will never go there again and will make sure our family and friends will stay away as well. Way to go IHOP, the supposed masters of pancakes and breakfast all day. Let me start off this by saying I was not very impressed with this IHOP location to say the least, first off I ordered a strawberry milkshake, once It came out i was surprised to see what looked like a chunky and bubbly pink looking substance, almost resembling the same appearance as "Pepto Bismol". Not Very appetizing at all, so much so that I didn't even bother taking a single sip, My Wife, and my brother had a sip and said it was warm, My brother Had also got a Milkshake, which also had the same runny milky texture as mine. Fast forward to when our food comes, the food was cold, and hard almost as if it had been sitting out, not to mention the chicken from my chicken and waffles came with honey mustard which couldn't have even been half a pump, it was almost as if they squeezed a honey mustard packet and put it in a little cup. Our server never asked us if we needed any refills, nor did he ask if we were splitting the check (we were), to finish it off when the bill came we had to use the app because there was no one to ring us up, overall very poor communication with our the server. Not to nit pick but it was very cold inside of this establishment, to an uncomfortable degree. Lastly the restaurant itself was very empty and after one time dining I can see why. Have been here a few times since I really liked other IHOPs i have been to. Everytime service has been poor. We actually walked out once because we sat for 15mins without a waitress visiting our table. Last time we went was a friday evening last week. The restuaraut was empty likely due to the poor service people receive. At least service was more timly. The quality of food has never been bad. read more

Wow. 1) My server was Deanna and she was perfect. Not constantly in my face but she checked in with me. First time eating out by myself. 2) The pancakes and hash browns were perfect and she is one of only a couple servers in my life who listened about my bacon. Service was awful. Two tables seated after us had food by the time we got our drink orders. When our food came my husband's food order was wrong. (It happens, no big deal) but then my food wasn't even brought out. When we asked about it the waitress got snippy. When mine came out, my order was wrong and had to redo part of it. We pretty much played the waiting game. We had to wait to be seated, at 10 minutes because there was no at the front desk to seat us. At his point we have left, but we stuck it out. We had to wait for our server because no one knew who worked in our section. We had to wait for our food much longer then the others around us. My husband, daughter and I ate here a while ago and frankly I am shocked at the poor reviews this location is getting. The staff are ALL friendly. The location is clean, neat, well kept, and definitely staffed enough. We ate here for dinner I believe, but had breakfast meals (great thing about a place that serves breakfast all day). I don't typically like chain restaurants, but this location is very nice. I realize they just recently opened but the reviews here are making it seem like they don't know what they're doing and are completely incompetent. First of all, everyone has to start somewhere. I understand the lady being upset about her debit card being charged a month later. Well I would take that up with management and get them to take care of your overdraft issue. Secondly, if the food is very good and the service is not quite up to par then you have a majority of a positive experience. Share your thoughts with the manager, and if the manager is not available then get the shift manager name and make note of the day you go in with your servers name and call them later. Most chain restaurants have dirty unkept restrooms, unmopped floors, piss poor waiters if not rude unmindful ones and the food is either cold from being left up at the kitchen too long or is just wrong. This location is VERY CLEAN, properly staffed, people are being trained however that's how it goes when you first open. The food was served appropriately warm, we got everything we asked for with a smile from a very nervous newbie waiter and he was kind enough to unnecessarily apologize for several little things. I even gave him a tip: as a parent ordering milk for a child I took note once when someone asked me if I wanted "white or brown" milk for my daughter not to say chocolate in front of her. From then on I order milk as "white milk" so that she doesn't know the difference. He was very pleased to learn and thanked me. Truthfully give this place a chance. To only have poor reviews is just mind boggling. So we returned to this location today (7/17) for breakfast before church. The wait was 30 minutes with a constant flow of people in and out. The waitress was really nice but did seem to be out of view for us to be able to flag her down. We did notice two other tables got their male before we ever saw ours but my husband noted that they ordered sooner than us too. We were served a large white milk for my 4 year old without it being in a plastic cup with a lid and o course she proceeded to spill a little. Frankly I should've called the waitress on it when we got our drinks. My husband had the Colorado omelette with the buttermilk pancakes and my daughter had the grilled cheese sandwiches with the squeezable applesauce and the waitress also offered her a strawberry yogurt. Their coffee tasted meh and had me wanting my home brewed espresso. I would change my rating based on today's experience to a 3.5/5 stars but since that's not an option and all in all this is a very clean establishment with nice friendly staff I figured it's worth the 4 stars. read more

So I know this just recently opened, but all the people that work here seem very untrained, lost and confused. Through observation there seemed to be a shortage in silverware, myself and other customers had to ask for some. I'm not a fan of all the workers gathered at the entrance of the place, more people at the entrance than in the dinning area. The food however was good, expect the fact my bacon was undercooked. I had to edit this review to say what else had happened. Apparently the people that work at this restaurant are incompetent. They charged my debit card 30 DAYS after I had been there. What a disappointment! We went for the Grinch items. First we all ordered the grinch hot chocolate. It wasn't green because they were out of green and never told us. Okay we can understand...then we tried it and it was barely warm and the chocolate wasn't mixed in. We ordered the grinch pancakes but she didn't want the meal. Every time my family and I have come to this IHOP it has been terrible, slow service. The service this morning was so bad that we will not be returning to this IHOP in the future. A table of 3, and a 2top were all that was in our waitress Emory's section, and she didn't bring one drink refill, even when asked, got every order at the table wrong and it took over an hour for us to get everything right. It was a disappointing start to an otherwise beautiful morning. I understand that Sunday's are busy days for breakfast rush and the kitchen may be slow but when you're handling a small section, you could at least refill a drink and apologize for the wait. read more

As they are a well established restaurant, gaining popularity due too their pancakes. My pancakes were normal ordinary pancakes. However my family's meal in its entirety took entirely too long. As well as misplacing a side that was specified when the order was placed, a multitude of times. The waitress seemed to be preoccupied at all times, her face down and barely talking to us. Running over too our table, quickly giving us the check before we are even halfway done. Only to come back to slide away with the check and payment. Without so much as one word. Mind you there was only one or two other tables in the entire restaurant. This is not the only time I have personally have had terrible service at this particular establishment. Worst experience for breakfast, ever! The service was excellent, however the food was horrible. First time trying out the new ihop in York and we really don't have a desire to try it out again. We had a party of 2 and both of us asked for the Colorado omelette. One omelette was supposed to have mushrooms and made with egg whites and the other was supposed to have mushrooms added with no peppers and onions. The omelettes do not come with toast so we asked for two sides of sourdough toast. Both omelettes came out the same with no peppers, onions or mushrooms, which we were billed for. 2 slices of what was considered sourdough toast came out as hard as caveman bread 10 minutes after the omelettes and another 2 pieces came out when we were ready to leave. Does this location only have 1 toaster on premises? The eggs of the omelettes were tough and rubbery, the soda was flat and the tomato juice bland like cheap canned juice from a dollar store. Not to mention the bottle of Tabasco sauce on the table looked to be watered down. After bringing this to the attention of the manager, he offered to deduct $3.00 from the bill for the confusion. No confusion on our part, incompetence of the kitchen staff. Not to mention totally turned off when the manager suggested it was the servers issue, not the kitchen. This restaurant has terrible food, poor management and an overall disgrace of a York, PA restaurant. Most likely this particular incident could have been prevented with proper training and coaching of employees by competent management. read more

I realize this is a new location, however an establishment shouldn't open their doors for business until the staff is trained. They have a lot of staff, to the point they are falling over each other, but very poor service. I had to ask for everything i.e. Silverware, table wiped, the bill. The biggest problem they won't be able to solve is the minimal parking spaces and small restaurant size. read more

I've been here twice and both times had one of the best breakfast meals (both served in the p.m.) I've ever had. The first time I had some of the best French Toast I've ever had. The price was cheap; my entire meal was under $15. The second time was free pancake day. I got three pancakes and found all to be high quality. The strawberry syrup is the best. The bacon was great. Hey! Listen..I think this is becoming one of York's best kept secrets. I'm guessing due to past management issues ratings for IHop on Pauline Drive have dropped. However, after my experience last night I am happy to say one of my long time favorites IS BACK! Do like I did.. don't give into the negative hype, go see for your self. In today's environment CLEAN IS THE THING... and if you like clean you'll appreciate this place. Kudos to this night Manager and the Servers for brining great attitude, really good food in virtually spotless restaurant. Okay, Okay..nobody's perfect.. and if there was one thing I HAD to suggest.. I encourage keeping an eye on the hand sanitizer. The bottle in the lobby was near empty. Management make sure the employees are replacing them continuously. Hailee great job! If I could give minus stars I would. My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite at 8:25 pm...only customers in the place. Two hostesses, multiple servers. How can you screw up eggs & bacon or the "special" all you can eat pancakes...at a pancake restaurant! I asked for well done bacon...it came back uncooked (server said he forgot to tell the cook? I saw him write the order) hash browns weren't properly cooked- my friend got the pancake special...it came on a tiny plate - the server obviously thought he only needed 2 pancakes, as he never I came back! This location obviously has no adult supervision. When I asked for the manager, the young lady that came to the table had been on the floor the entire time (thought she was a bus person). I explained to her and her server my displeasure. She offered to take it off the check-which I declined, as I would hope in the future, if these kids choose a profession in the service industry, that they put forth more effort. While I appreciate fun at work, dancing and fooling around is not cool when you have customers. The icing on the cake... Went to pay the check and there is no one around! $18 for bad food and no service. This is the second time we have had virtually no service and inedible food. We went there today for lunch. We arrived at 12:15 and were greeted by a very rude hostess. We were shown a seat and were not greeted by our server until 12:30. We gave our order and didn't get our drinks until 12:41. We got our food at 12:57 and more than half was burnt. We didn't complain since we were hungry and the kids were getting grouchy. I'm gonna start off by saying that I've frequented this location and was more than ecstatic to hear that an IHOP was coming to an area close by! I have had great experiences here but it seems to be going downhill fast! My girlfriend and I arrived on a Wednesday night around 7pm and was seated right away. We noticed that there were only 6 tables being occupied by customers so in return we would have a decent experience. The drink order went smoothly but our glasses sat empty for over a half hour. We waited over an hour for a breakfast combo and was told that our order has been mixed up in the kitchen. After the initial hour wait the waitress asked started bringing out sides and said the rest of the meal would be up shortly. Long story short we didn't get what we ordered and once we did it came out to temperature. I mentioned that I was no longer interested in the food. She offered to heat up the entire meal in the microwave to make things better. We had to beg the manager for a refund and the best he could do was give us half off the entire check. On our way out an employee and manager were right in front of the restaurant smoking. Be forewarned this should not be compared to any other IHOP restaurant. Beautiful morning . Service was prompt and awesome. The table was clean the floors surrounding the eating table was clean . I look at my surrounding before eating if it's dirty I lose my appetite and walk out , but it was clean tidy organize . I had a waiter ( paradise) I watched are efficiency, promptness , pleasant , respectful behavior with all the tables she waited on . Third time at this location. First visit was pretty good. Food was great service was excellent and it was very busy...... so why the one star rating? Well the next time my son and I visited it was not busy at all. We waited a few minutes to be seated... after waiting another 10 minutes after being seated nobody came around to even take drink orders. Because our food and service was so good the first time we decided to visit one more time. This time we were seated right away. Not very busy. Possibly 10-12 other guests. Waited 20 minutes, yep nobody came to take our drink orders. So we left once again. Went to another place to eat next door. Oddly on our way into IHOP there was an employee apparently on break sitting right next to entrance smoking a cigarette. On our way out there was a different employee smoking at entrance. I guess management just doesn't care at this location. If you visit this location I recommend bringing your own drinks, something to read while your waiting. Better yet, just go to one of the many other food places in the area until this IHOP gets management that CARES. read more

I absolutely love IHOP food. But they have been more disappointing than anything anymore. It's always something. The order isn't right. The food is cold when it comes out. Right now my crepes are over cooked and rubbery. Had to wait on my silverware before I could eat. She asked if I wanted ketchup I said YES. Waited 5 minutes for that. At the Harrisburg location after I'm seated it takes average 15-20 mins for someone to ask me what I want to drink. I've been to Harrisburg pa, york pa, and golden ring MD. I have had more bad experiences at all of them than good. The only one I've been to and have never had a problem with is the one at rehoboth DE. So one day I am just going to give up on this place. And it's sucks because I love the food. But a little bit of everything sucks everytime I come. read more

Ordered for curbside pickup. Ordered at 9:30. Our pickup time was originally 9:45. Then changed to 9:51. Waited 7 mins. No food. Called 3 times and let it ring 25 times for each call. No answer. We've been watching people go on and out without masks! I'm NOT happy about this and we won't be back! We are high risk for getting Covid and my husband had to go in to get our food. Can I give a half star for good coffee? I visited here with friends very early one morning prior to a work project kick off. There were nine people in the restaurant. I ordered blueberry pancakes. About 2/3 of the way through breakfast, I found the ever dreaded hair in my food. Feeling nauseous, I asked the waitress to take the plate away. Imagine my surprise when I was given my bill and I was charged full price! The waitress explained that there wasn't a manager working that early so there was no one to tell. Came here for lunch while waiting for my daughters eye doctor appointment. Walked in and was greeted within a minute. She asked how many, I told her "4" and she walked away without saying a word. Close to five minutes later, she returned and told us to follow her. We were seated, given our menus and had only one silverware placing on the table. Our waitress came and we ordered drinks. She came back with drinks and told me they were all out of sweet tea, at noon. She gave us no straws or no more silverware and left again. Came back for food order and out of the 5 or 6 soups they offer, they only had 2 available. We ordered and when she returned with our girls orders, she informed me that the chicken noodle I ordered, I was given the last bit, a half cup, again, only at noon. It was also full of so much salt that my throat began to burn. So out of those 5 or 6 they offer, they only had 1 available. Another couple sat in front of us, waiting 10 minutes or so without ever being waited on and finally left. They sang happy birthday to a young teen and practically hollered loud enough to make my girls cover their ears. Our waitress gave us our check then never returned for payment. I asked someone else if we could pay, he left to find her, came back and said he would just do it as our waitress was now MIA. Bottom line, this place sucks ass. The wait is always ridiculous as the lobby set up wasn't well thought out the staff never seem to know there is a whole line of people waiting to be sat. The women's restroom was filthy and the manager that was using the restroom while I was in there didn't bother picking up any of the trash. Food order was incorrect when it came out.
