After reading several reviews i still decided to give this IHOP a try . Some of the reviews were very negative so i was a little hesitant at first , but after being seated I must say everything went very well . The waitress was very pleasant, she took our order right away .Food came out hot and tasty , restaurant was a little outdated but nothing major to complain about . We would definitely go back again !

I haven't been to a Ihop in quite a while. Not the best of experiences in the past, but was close by and hungry so decided to give it another shot. They did require face mask upon entering and they did have social distancing which I thought was good. We ordered coffee and it was just barely warm and weak. The waitress was very apologetic and got us a fresh pot, which was much better. I also ordered a bacon and cheese omelet w/ pancakes. It was delicious! Ihop's pancakes are always good. My husband ordered the Spinach and Mushroom omelet and added bacon and ham on top, along with hash brown potatoes. It came out beautiful and he couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. It turned out to be a very pleasant eating experience. Would definitely go back to this location.

Jessica - waitress Manager - krista I was so excited to go to IHOP this day. Haven't visited this place for a while. I was surprised that we were seated immediately. This was about 1130 am. When we were seated , we notice that the temperature in the restaurant was freezing. The waitress came over and asked us about what we wanted to drink. She came back maybe like 15 min. At that time she took our order. We waited and waited for about 1 hour or more for our food. When our food arrived, our food was Luke warm. To give you an example the butter didn't melt on the pancakes. Also my husband omelet was less than warm the sprinkled cheese on top didn't melt. My bacon was burnt, not edible. Very sad experience, especially that we were very hungry. Before paying our bill, I ask to speak to a manger. The manger came and I mention the problem. She didn't make eye contact all. She just went to the computer and comped our whole meal. She said that 2 people went home. Our waitress was okay, she can only do so much besides saying sorry. I will never go to this IHOP again.

We only came because we had a gift card and never again. Only positive was our waitress who was really nice and attentive. They sat us right next to ceiling leak. Water dripping all over the floor (no bucket). It was awful. People kept getting up and leaving. Food wasn't bad but we will never come back.

Waited an hour and a half before receiving our food (2 simple breakfast plates). While I understand this isn't the waitresses fault, her explanation was "Im sorry, the kitchen is really backed up..." As you can see in the picture, the restaurant was empty. Also, over heard another waitress discussing a discount for the incredibly long wait, which was not offered to us. Location in Jenkintown is always much busier and much more efficient....

Driving by simply delicious many times on York Rd. I have been curious. Today was the day curiosity finally killed the cat literally and figuratively. When you don't hear anyone talking about an establishment locally, that should tell you something - when I asked others about simply delicious. No one had even heard of it. Come to find out it's been an existence for quite some time. What is basically a glorified coffee shop simply delicious yarns to be a posh café/bakery. In reality it leaves a lot to be desired. From the moment we walked into the unfriendly faces. The semi tableservice, (order at counter and they bring it to you) the overpriced food, and the coffee/tea served in paper cups. This is definitely not a sit down place. More of a grab and go type of joint. The hungry man sandwich was served on brioche "toast" that was dry crumbling, and not at all sufficient to handle the weight of the sandwich. The sandwich itself was assembled haphazardly and lacked any real cohesion in both flavor and texture. The platter special consisted of French toast bacon sausage patties (house made) and eggs your way. Mine were scrambled and were decent enough. The bacon seemed high quality but could have cooked a bit longer. The house made sausage patties were overcooked and tough with more spice than I would have desired. The French toast was well soaked in the egg mixture and more than enough for a serving. Probably ranking high on the list of French toast I've had. However, I don't believe it is a staple of the menu. It was a special of the day. I would only really recommend simply delicious when the yearning for a good scone comes around. Either that if looking for a quiet place to sit and chat with an old friend over a scone and coffee - there isn't much of a crowd so it would be the perfect place to catch up. As for me, and he, not likely to return. Far too many other options locally, that have better ambience, food, prices, and most importantly people who are happy to see you and make you feel welcome.

Overall the menu isn't large but they do have seasonal options. The breakfast was definitely more enticing so that's what we went with. I ordered hot coffee because they had free refills - they only had coffee mate creamers which I don't prefer but the coffee itself was good! I went with the farmhouse hash - I asked to sub the multigrain toast for sourdough but they did not do that. They also didn't give you jelly or anything for the toast. Hot sauce and ketchup were on the table. Our waiter was nice but wasn't super attentive - we had to ask for waters and napkins and it would have been nice for her to notice the food mixup. We did get the holey donuts to share and they were delicious and warm an I enjoyed the warm berry sauce. I'm sure I'll be back if I need a breakfast spot in a pinch.

In my opinion, they have the best happy hour in the area. It's every day from 5-7 PM, which is a refreshing change from the typical Monday-Friday happy hours that end at 6. We usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are always friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcome. The happy hour food and drink specials are a fantastic value. It's easy to enjoy a great evening out for under $50, which is becoming harder to find these days. The crowd is usually friendly too, making it a fun place to relax and socialize. As for the food, I honestly can't remember having a bad meal here. Everything we've ordered has been flavorful, satisfying, and generously portioned. Unlike many restaurants today, you don't leave feeling like you paid inflated prices for tiny portions. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, an outstanding happy hour, and a welcoming atmosphere, the Metropolitan Diner is definitely worth a visit. We ordered the eggroll sampler and fried pickles as an app. The eggrolls were tasteless, and the fried pickles were so greasy we couldn't eat them. Then on to the entrees, I ordered the brunch burger and my wife the French toast with bacon. French toast is what it is...not much you can do (and I still question my wife about ordering it). The burger, flavorless and overcooked. To make this experience better, the bacon for my wife's side and on my burger...completely raw. The food took a long time to come out, so no excuses. The service was good and I don't blame them for this. But far too many missteps. This is not just a mistake on one item...this is a restaurant that's lost its way.
