Way better than the IHOP in clinton. (Reasons: atmosphere, food quality, coffee service, friendly manager). I ordered the southwest breakfast platter (I don't remember the name, but it came with home fries, scrambled eggs. Sliced avocado salsa, and tortilla.) It was only $10 and the quality was excellent. A similar meal can be purchased down the road at Silver Diner for at least $3 more... likely closer to $5 more. I will return soon to the Waldorf IHOP!!! read more

The IHOP in Waldorf, MD, is NOT a restaurant friendly to gluten-sensitive individuals. Staff seem to have zero awareness of what gluten is, where it can be found, and symptoms that patrons may endure if they are served meals with gluten after having identified themselves as gluten-sensitive. I let the server know I was gluten free and proceeded to order an omelette with "shell eggs" since the regular omelette has pancake batter added. An omelette with shell eggs is obviously just egg -- you see yellow and white irregularities and it has no bubbles. The first omelette served to me was of a consistent yellow color, thick, and with bubbles in the egg (like the addition of baking powder would do to a batter). I asked the server to verify with the kitchen that the omelette was made with shell eggs. Server brings me a second omelette about 15 minutes later and apologizes. Egg looks yellow and white like it does when shell eggs are used although it still seemed a bit fluffy. I ate the omelette after giving the kitchen the benefit of the doubt. Fifteen minutes after I paid and left I received confirmation that the omelette did indeed have some pancake batter mixed in because I became sick. All restaurants MUST educate their staff about food allergies. It is NOT acceptable to be sick because some ignoramus employee isn't careful about entering food allergies into the ordering system and/or the kitchen staff can't be bothered to pay attention to what they're cooking for people. Gluten allergies/intolerance are not a special snowflake affectation -- people can get very sick, have migraines, asthma attacks, etc. after eating prepared food that contains gluten. The restaurant has lost my confidence and I will not be eating here again. read more

This is not a review of this particular IHOP but all the IHOP I have been to in the southern MD area and their bottomless drink policy it should read only if you can find a server after the first drink I suffer from dry mouth so I drink a lot of fluids and go to IHOP because of this supposed bottomless drink policy It does not matter the time of day or night I go busy or not busy whether I order coffee, sofa, juice or even water it's almost impossible to find a server to get a second or third glass or cup without being rude and loud enough to attract attention of hidden servers and on top of that the coffee is never really hot IHOP is still a good place to eat late nights just don't be thirsty read more

Had a late dinner and ordered the pumpkin pancakes (which were amazing) And their egg white veggie omelet with a side of fresh fruit! Everything tasted delicious! Our waitress was really knowledgeable about the menu, even helped influence my decision on what to get! My only complaint is that their coffee is over priced. I filled out the survey at the bottom and recieved a free stack of pancakes so I will defiantly be back to that!! read more

Khia has always provided the best service experiences my family and I have ever had! Not only is her service prompt, she always checks on us throughout our meals and treats us like family instead of patrons. Worst experience ever. The waiter Kiya must have had an attitude because she didn't even introduce herself. She was very disrespectful and we refused to eat because she was just the worst. The service was great and the restaurant looked really clean! However the menu choices and food was not as good as other diners. They only have one breakfast sandwich which had ham. I had ordered a really good breakfast sandwich from denny's with sausage and bacon and was hoping they had one like that but they didn't. The food that we did order was really tasty! read more

Tried this restaurant today and the food tasted like every other IHOP. Everything was cooked correctly and the server was prompt.

Went there with a friend and both of our orders were inedible, and looked nothing like how they were portrayed on the menu. They were nice enough to let us both get something new, but it wasn't much better than the first, very bland and in need of flavor. We stopped in here on our way back from a long hot day in DC one Saturday. The place was practically empty, so they weren't that busy. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the hostess and then we had to go searching for her because she was in the kitchen chatting with the servers. My wife had to poke her head in and tell her we were there. Then our waitress didn't really bother to come and check on us. As far as the food, I ordered a ranch style omlete, which was the special. Got it and instead of grated cheese, they had used microwaved nacho cheese sauce. I ate it because I was already tired of dealing with the waitress, and the whole situation. I don't usually write reviews but this is something I must speak on. Tonight I went to IHOP with my 3 cousins. My server name was "BRANDI" and bad horrible customer service. My cousins all got kids meals and when you order a kids meal regardless if it's included in the price you will receive a kids drink. The server gave them regular sized drinks and some servers do that so they won't have to continuously refill them so I didn't think anything of it. I got my bill and seen I was charged with 2 adult drinks and 1 kids drink which was charged for the kids(I got water). I told the server that they should all be charged with kids drinks and I don't understand why you charge them for adult drinks and she told me that I have to specify that went kids drinks. I shouldn't have to tell a server I want kids drinks when I CLEARLY ordered KIDS meals. If I wanted them to have adult drinks I would've told her that but they were clearly kids and they ordered off the kids menu. Very unprofessional and argumentative when it came to her admitting her faults. She blamed me for not saying I wanted kids drinks when that is a NO BRAINER because they are clearly kids. First off, this is The Original International House of Pancakes. They have been around for at least 50 years serving in the same style that I remember back in New York City in 1964. If you have spectacular culinary expectations, please go elsewhere. IHOP is the last of the great 20th century diner experiences. That said their food is unpretentious, properly prepared, and well served. The same service I had in NYC 50 years ago has not changed. Except for one time when I had a new waitress at the Waldorf restaurant, the service has been excellent. And what is there to fault? Hiring a new person and I be less than tolerant? Give me a break. I highly recommend IHOP. Enjoy it for what it is, not what you think it should be. read more

This is a really good location. The service is good, food prepared the way you want it, and the managers are pleasant and attentive. I stopped by about 9 PM on a Tuesday night, and was seated quickly. A group of burly young men began to sing "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond along with the restaurant music. One of them was even acting as the band leader. Then another table joined them, and pretty soon the entire restaurant was singing along. It was pretty amazing, and as we all left, we smiled and wished each other a good evening! Very different from anything I've experienced before at an IHOP! Really made all the rain and fog seem less important! read more

Brought my family in for breakfast as my kids love the create-a-face pancakes. Our waitress was very congenial and the food was satisfactory. Still a popular spot for my kids to have pancakes but would be nice to have more healthy breakfast options. All in all a good place for the family. read more

I love going to IHOP near my home by myself or with my husband. In comparison to other IHOPS I think this one deserves an update to its decor. Shame on corporate! As for the staff and service-- depending on who you get you can have great service or someone that as very illusive or over-abundant in check-ins. I generally get the same waitress and she is amazing. :) Only down side is it can be VERY loud due to the open floor plan. read more

We love coming to IHOP! We come to this one on 301 and my tween-daughter loves the Red Velvet pancakes. My teenage grandson prefers this place over any other. He loves the mozzarella sticks, fries, burgers and tenders. The staff is very friendly and the manager has a very nice personality. Sunday at noon is super busy so if you don't mind waiting it is worth the wait. It's a family restaurant too so the little kids can be noisy. But hey they're kids. The decor is nice and bright. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big enough. Simple down home cooking! read more

I have been dissatisfied with this place on numerous occasions. The service is good and the manager is a nice guy and very considerate but that doesn't make up for the bad food. We ordered take-out last weekend and returned the food after we had gotten home. That was the last straw, will not be returning. read more
