I think my visit to Hangry Joe's warrants 2.5 stars, but we'll round up to 3…read more I tried a chicken tender combo with fries; I did a dry rub breaded chicken with a couple of sauces on the side. The chicken wasn't nearly as crispy as I would have hoped and it's seasoning fell a little bit flat. The size of the tender was good though, which I appreciate. The sauces we got didn't compliment the tenders very well (maybe we got the wrong ones to go with the dry rub?) The waffle fries were the star of the show - crispy, hot, and exactly what you want out of waffle fries. And my goodness the toast left a lot to be desired; was hoping for much more than a plain piece of untoasted bread at the bottom of the combo box. If I return to Hangry Joe's, I would definitely try something different on the menu. The chicken tender combo I had left alot to be desired.

But I did not have a similar experience with this location in Waldorf. I shared a tender meal with some others one quiet Saturday evening. The tenders were flavored up nicely, but they came with dipping sauces that just really clashed with their dry rub. In my opinion, it should be an option of either or, not both. And the waffle fries had a sweetness to them that I was not expecting. They have waffle fries on their menu too, and it tasted like the batter got mixed up, which was weird. It was a savory, yet subtly sweet experience. And the toast was literally a slice of white bread that had some sauce dripping on it. It was not toasted, and really had nothing going for it. I guess the locations are definitely different in terms of quality, and I will just stick to the ones closer to me.

They also give customers a buzzer while they wait and to notify them when the food is ready. The chicken can cum with a spice rub ranging from none to reaper. I always want some seasoning but I would prefer not to die yet, so I opted for medium. This was a good choice for me. Some of the spice rubs off on your fingers which is not ideal, but it was good nevertheless. I got the #3 meal which consisted of one chicken strip, one chicken slider and a side of fries. The fries were nicely seasoned but the portion was on the small side. The Dave's sauce seems to be some morph between honey mustard and mayonnaise, and it was solid but. It necessarily special. The slaw they put on the slider was cool. I normally do not like coleslaw but theirs was on the mild side and that made it palatable. They generously provided 4 decent sized pickles and an extra slice of bread for carb lovers like me. And I must say, grab the napkins. They are a fun play on words from songs but replacing words like 'fly' and 'cry' with the word 'fry.' Cool beans!

Even before the fast food chicken wars that have exploded lately because of the epic surplus of similar fast food restaurants that have popped up around the burbs, I have always loved Zaxby's. I remember first discovering them on a road trip with a high school friend of mine, and I always look forward to the rare occasion that I would have them. Later on, it became annual when I knew I'll be within 10 minutes of them from Smash Con and could enjoy them. A few weekends ago, I went with a couple of friends and we all shared a tinder combo. Now, compared to other tenders in the area, theirs are relatively tiny. But the taste is unmatched. And that coleslaw and the fries that come with it... Whew! They're so flavorful! Now, the toast is fine, not as great as other places, but they make up for that with everything else. Many people have also complained about the service, but it was very fast for us. I'm looking forward to a Zaxby's opening closer to home, because that is one place I will have more often as my guilty pleasure meal. And they have a banana pudding milkshake that I'm excited about!

Arrived early and waited a few minutes. My order was called. Here's what I ordered: -two Char burgers (one lettuce wrapped): these were not good. Smothered in so much mayo it was dripping i -meal deal (half patty melt, chicken bites, side, etc. I'll spare you the details, but I asked for an extra ranch after looking in my bag, and realizing I didn't even get the three I was supposed to get. I had two in the bag and I asked for two more, but informed her that I was missing one. My bag was on the counter and she yanked it towards her and started moving all of my food around as if I had hidden the ranch. Being that distrustful of a customer over a $.65 container of ranch is insane. Typically, most locations will give you one of the small ones for free, anyway. But also, chill when you haven't even provided what you were supposed to. Finally got the ranch and the burgers were so covered in mayo that it was leaking out of the bun. Imagine large drops of mayo and mayo alone falling out of your burger as you attempt to take a bite. I ended up wiping it with a napkin. Second visit: I came back with char tickets to pay for a portion of my order. These tickets are usually sent by customer service if you have a bad experience. The fries were bland at first and definitely needed salt, but once seasoned they were decent. On the other hand, the strawberry lemonade was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. I would still come back to try something different--specifically their salads, because they looked pretty good based on the menu photos.
