Once again IHOP knocked it out of the park. A group of 10 of us gathered for breakfast on 10/07/2025 for a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend and to celebrate 4 others. I stopped in the day before to let them know a group would be coming in. They took great care of setting us up. Makayla was our server. Did did a great job handling a party of 10 by herself. The only slight issue was getting our food out together. That happens with a large group often. Makayla kept a good eye on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff, including the wonderful, the gentleman who keeps the tables clean, lead everyone in singing happy birthday. He is such a wonderful addition to the staff. And to be honest the staff at this location sing better than any other restaurant around. Our group has been extremely pleased with the staff and food at the Fordham Dr. Location that everyone wants to come back for dinner. Thank y'all for taking such good care of us. read more

Last week, we decided to try IHOP. We got there and it was a mess. They were mostly concerned with all the To-Go orders. Several servers passed our table without asking us if we were helped yet. We even stopped someone and she said our server should be right over. After 35 mins, finally we stopped a girl and she helped us with a smile. She apologized for our wait. Her name was Shiny. She half a really great attitude and we gave her a good tip. When my husband asked about what was going on, the manager said that a couple of servers just decided to leave. This gave me bad flashbacks of another restaurant that doesn't know how to manage the kitchen for Dining In vs. To-Go orders. Unfortunately, I don't think we will.be returning for a long while. read more

Typical Ihop. I've come here twice on a slow night with a large party and a couple of times on a busy day with groups of three-five. There's definitely a difference in service from morning shift and night. In the mornings, it's very fast paced. Servers are friendly and unbeat. And it's a classic ihop experience. At night--it's not a Waffle House vibe, but it's getting there. Aside from that service is often slow and understaffed for large groups, so just be prepared to wait long periods in between drink orders, meal orders, and actually getting your meal. They're often less attentive on drink refills. I will say that the last time I went with a large group, the server was quick about splitting checks and getting everyone cashed out. They do have specials constantly running. Monday is military appreciation--50% off Tuesday is customer appreciation--buy one entree get one free. Wednesday is Senior appreciation--50%off Thursday is student/faculty 50% off Friday is all you can eat pancakes $6.99 My go-to meals are the sirloin tip and eggs or the stuffed peach crepe special if it's running. read more

We have been to this IHOP location a couple of times now, and we plan to continue returning when we want a simple, easy, affordable restaurant for our family that has a menu with a little of bit of something for everyone! Last night was no exception in regards to service and quality. We stopped in on our way home from the zoo with our toddler, our pre-teen daughter and her two friends. We have a total of six people in our party, and they walked us to the back section and made sure we had plenty of space for everyone. Our server was timely, attentive, and so, so friendly. She got our order 100% correct, refilled our drinks, and even knew the menu well enough to make suggestions on how to get the better "deal" for what the kids wanted. At one point, the kids were singing "Baby Shark" to our toddler to cheer her up (she was getting grumpy because it was late) and as they sang, one of the servers joined in singing and dancing, making for an uproarious good time! I appreciate their their restrooms are very clean, they're extremely patient with my children (who are of varying ages), their food is consistent and tasty (and always prepared as asked), and there are no surprises on the bill! I did not grow up eating at IHOP and, frankly, I was never a fan of them before we visited this location to try their 2x2x2 special a little while back... my expectations have been exceeded and we now very much enjoy bringing out family here. We really enjoyed that the eggs were all prepared exactly like we asked (kind of a tough thing when you've got six people), our food was hot and delicious, and our service was amazing!!! It's an IHOP, probably very similar to every other IHOP in the country. Nothing special here, my eggs were undercooked, the red potatoes were not red potatoes but those little fried potatoes (home fries or whatever) that look like they came out of a freezer bag. My waitress was nice, forgetful & loudly talking across the restaurant to patrons & staff, but she was nice. Considering the time of my visit & how empty it was, I really was surprised that my meal ticket took as long as it did to come out & that the eggs were still undercooked & super runny. I ordered over medium, these eggs look like they may have spent 30 seconds on each side of a lukewarm grill. The coffee carafe was decent enough that I didn't need to overly doctor it with cream & sugar. Well heck, at least the pancakes were good!! Oh, as with most places I checkout in Virginia, the hot sauce selection was found to be lacking. They offer Cholula, Tabasco or Texas Pete. The food is wonderful, the prices more than reasonable, the establishment immaculate, and the staff friendly and engaging. However, our visit on December 26, 2021, exceeded even that. We had the pleasure of having Shelly as our server. she is, without question, the finest we have had the pleasure to meet. She is friendly, helpful, attentive, and a consummate professional. We didn't feel so much like customers as members of her family that Sunday morning. Neither one of us can say enough about her. She would cause us to return. Took my son and his girlfriend out for breakfast. This visit was very pleasant and all kudos goes to our server. We were seated right away. Our server, Mike was awesome from the moment we were seated. He even asked which booth we wanted to sit at. We all had ordered coffee to drink and Mike bought them out with regular creamer. He overheard us talking about how we liked flavored creamers with our coffee and he brought us French vanilla and Hazelnut creamer. Brittanie ordered the steak omelette with pancakes. Tony ordered French toast with a side of hash browns, bacon and eggs. I ordered the Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Mike was very attentive and made sure we had our coffee filled and he brought us extra napkins. Lastly, he gave us coffee to go! It was nice and hot. Great service! read more

We normally go to the Landstown location when we dine in and love it. However, when we DoorDash, it comes from this location. We used to order every weekend and really enjoyed the Bacon Temptation omelettes. When done right, the bacon should be perfectly cooked and crumbly. We stopped ordering a couple of months ago because of poor quality. The bacon was either really undercooked or really overcooked and the omelettes were tough. We could at least count on the toast and pancakes being good. This happened three times in a row, so we stopped ordering. We decided to give it another try today, and it was definitely a bad decision. Let me start by saying that I know for a fact it wasn't our Dasher as the food was delivered quickly. I knew it was bad as soon as we unpacked the bag. The omelettes were really small, the bacon was undercooked and in big chunks and just overall not very aesthetically pleasing. We tried to eat around the bacon only to find the rest of the omelette rubbery and tough. Well, at least we have the toast and pancakes, right? NO. They both tasted old. The toast was not burnt by any means, but it was brittle. And there is no way the pancakes were cooked to order. They were cold and dry. This was the worst food we have ever had from any IHOP EVER, and we will never order takeout or dine there again. read more

They can't really be endless if you only receive one plate of them and the server doesn't return for almost an hour. By that time you just wanna get the check and leave. I haven't been to IHOP in forever! I'm so glad my experience went well...First, we were seated right away with a big party (8). Bonus points! Then, I was blown away by all the different pancake flavors! I ended up going for the Big Steak Omelette and a side of regular pancakes. Portions were large and everything tasted great! My daughter ordered the funny face pancake and when it came out, it was shaped like Mickey Mouse! I don't know if all locations do this, but my girl's eyes lit up and she was beaming! It was shaped as a regular pancake with 2 silver dollar pancake ears! It definitely made her want to eat more of it too! :) Last, the servers were super nice. I especially liked one of the guys bussing tables. At first, I thought it was a manager because he came by and asked us how our meal was. Then, he said that he'd love to take some of our plates away so we could relax and just enjoy our conversation! I thought...wow, how polite! After some late night adventuring, we had a hungry and Taco Bell's "fourth meal" wasn't going to cut it. We hit the 'HOP for nibbles arriving at 11:30 PM. With an armed security guard in the lobby (big chrome 9mm on his hip and two extra mags), I expected a certain rowdiness and I was not disappointed. Three very "happy" gals at the next table seemed to forget that they were out in public. Whatevs, this isn't Ruth's Chris. We tolerated it. Patricia did a great job taking care of our table, recommending a few changes to our orders to save us a few bucks. Of course, everything we saved went into a bigger tip for her. Eggs over medium still had runny whites. Dry toast still had melted butter on it. But the turkey bacon was good and the pancakes were of course good. So why 3 stars since this chain is a guaranteed crap shoot? Well, because of all the memories that were made here. There's a smoking section, which was crucial when I was a smoker. I mean come on, a cigarette after a big breakfast was phenomenal...PHENOMENAL. We all know what they serve here. At this particular establishment, their pancakes seemed lighter. My boyfriend and I are first responders; it's very rare that him and I have one day off together. To celebrate the new year, him and I went to IHOP for breakfast. Our server, Shelly, seemed a little stress; however, she was very kind and patient with us. We noticed she was all over the restaurant and didn't seem like she had a designated section. This IHOP is open during a Virginia Beach blizzard. It was one of the only restaurants open in the area. For that they deserve some serious credit. Service was good and with a smile. But, the French toast was just not good. I ordered it with strawberries and bananas, and what came out was soft French toast absolutely saturated in that nasty, super sweet strawberry sauce. Best Burgers...who knew? I went inside and placed my order for a burger and onion rings. I loved the burger because it was large, juicy and perfectly cooked. The server was extremely helpful telling me about the specials. I believe he said his name is Ricardo. I'm so sorry that I didn't right it down because he deserves an honorable mention. He confirmed my vehicle was the one in front and offered to bring it to my vehicle...their policy during the pandemic. I asked for extra pickles and he remembered. I'd recommend this location highly. I'd had a crepe from here years ago with chicken, cheese and mushrooms so I thought I'd get it again...didn't see it on the menu but that burger was so good that I didn't miss it. My server De has always been awesome. When I wasn't sitting at his table he still was attentive to my needs by looking at my table. I always wondered who he was and now I got him as my server. Usually have wonderful service at this location. However, Came into this location today around 9am supposedly before the Sunday rush and was seated immediately. Staff members must have brought their small children to work that was wandering through the restaurant which was only noticed as we sat for 25-30 min without a word. No employee ever stopped to check on us, at least bring us coffee or water, take our order, communicate a small delay or anything so just had to leave and take our business to another breakfast spot. Very disappointed and dissatisfied because this use to be our preferred location of all the ihops in the area. The staff use to even hold the door open for you in the mornings. So unfortunate that this location is going downhill. read more
