Start off with the service. It was mediocre at best took a while for somebody to come see us and then took quite a while for somebody to take our order. And also took a long time for us to receive our check. As for the restaurant at first class it looked clean and nicely decorated. When we were brought to our booth the seats were torn. Ask for the food we ordered one classic eggs benedict and one avocado bacon eggs benedict. Both of these were served with basically hard boiled eggs. I don't know about anybody else but the reason why we order eggs benedict is for that ooey gooey poached egg. Now about the sauce, this is another key component to an Eggs Benedict and there wasn't much of it maybe a teaspoon and that was it. We brought up the hard boiled eggs to the waitress and we were told yeah you guys aren't the first to complain about that. Well if you know your cook is messing up orders then why isn't anything being done to rectify the situation. All in all for a $40 meal it was a complete let down and definitely not worth the time or the money spent on it. read more

We came to IHOP to celebrate my mother's birthday with our family, and it was a very disappointing experience. Our waitress took our order but never checked in with us, never offered refills, and never brought any. After placing our order, we waited nearly two hours and our food never came out. What made it worse was that the manager never came to our table to acknowledge the situation or offer any explanation or help. We eventually decided to leave, and we noticed the tables behind us leaving as well. We overheard another waitress tell a different table that food was taking 30 minutes to an hour to come out--which is unacceptable for a restaurant like this. It's really sad that on such an important day we had this kind of service. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and the lack of management made it even worse. They seriously need to get their kitchen and staff in order, because this was by far one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. read more

Stopped in around 9:00 am for breakfast, restaurant was not very busy. Stood at the front counter/hostess area just inside the entrance for several minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. After a few more minutes an overweight dark-haired woman dressed like a hostess walked behind the counter directly in front of us, pulled a notebook out of her pocket and began reading it. I have given this location three tries over the past two years & they are out! Each time it was the same issue: Horrible Service. The 1st time, after we were seated, no waiter came to our table so we walked out after 20 minutes. I had even sought someone out twice & was told a waiter would be there soon. The other two visits were similar. We were ignored & had to get up & seek out a waiter (they were in the back) to have our coffee refilled & ask for our check. The food I had was OK. I had a Garden Omelette with a stack of pancakes as my side item (vegetarian-friendly). I like that IHOP in general has many wonderful vegetarian-friendly options on their menu. I also like that the restrooms were clean & well-maintained. As well as that they had multiple stalls. This location wasn't too busy or crowded for 9:30-10:30ish at night, but I hardly ever saw my server. I usually like being left alone so that I can read in peace, but I also like to be able to get in touch with the server when I need them for drink refills & for my ticket. One weird experience for this visit: I usually like "sampling" the different syrup flavors available at my table. But in all bottles except for the "Old Fashioned", there was water in the top of the bottles. This water came out instead of the pancake syrup, which was definitely not expected or desired to pour on my pancakes! Upon a good shaking, the bottle of strawberry syrup was of acceptable consistency. The blueberry & the butter pecan bottles were hopeless, though. I left a note for my server to have those bottles changed out (since I didn't see her for a while). But it made me wonder if a previous guest had topped off those syrup bottles with water as a prank (or if someone really bored was experimenting to pass time), since I have never seen that before tonight. I would probably still come back to this & other IHOP franchises in the future, since they always seem to have new & classic menu items to try. Our server was kinda slow and not too attentive, but it was his second day. My bacon cheeseburger was a little on the dry side and It did not come out as I ordered it. I said, no tomatoes and it came with two slices of tomato on it. Everyone else at the table got their food as ordered. My husband did ask for hot syrup but never got it. The restrooms were clean. It was a little busy and I think our server was just a bit overwhelmed because he was so new. I have visited several IHOP locations in the US and this was not my best experience. Stopped here for breakfast with my wife and baby and the service was good. Coffee was good. Pancakes were good. Portions were a little small for the price and we also each got an omelette. Wife got a steak omelette and I got a bacon craver omelette (something like that) anyway, all of the omelette's insides were on the outside on both. I had MAYBE two strips of bacon ON my omelette. 1015 am Friday: Server Shania: server was attentive and friendly. Egg white veggie omelet, toast. Seating was quick and we were seated before a bus load of students were so we were not at the end of a long line of orders. However omelet was barely warm and had I not been such a fast eater it would have been cold by the end. Toast was cold. This IHOP is less than a year old. A town the size of Tyler could support two full-size IHOPS. What we have instead is a micro sized 40 year old location, and this new, but far too small location. Oh, it's nice, new, and does not have "the smell" yet that goes along with years of frying bacon and eggs. The service has been good, and the food is what I expect. However, this place is always crowded. It seems like somebody figured out too late that the place was built too small. So they added more seating and really made it cramped inside. Arrive early or avoid peak hours and save yourself the hassle of waiting outside. read more

Not a good experience folks! Went for breakfast. Staff was really nice. We got an order of cheese sticks. They tasted pasty, not stringy like they were supposed to be. You could crumble the cheese into milky little crumbles between your fingers. They agreed to take that off our bill, we were satisfied, until my steak omelet came out with a long black hair (I am a blonde) in it! We walked in and the Hostess was nowhere to be found, we stood there a good 5 min as my disabled mother struggled to keep standing. I made a Yelp account just for this review. I downloaded the Yelp app just for this review. I never write reviews. Please listen to me, DO NOT EAT HERE! I arrived at the IHOP and it was packed, there were around 5 parties ahead of me, but when I surveyed the restaurant and there were 7 open tables. 7! Most of the staff were standing around talking, and there was no host/hostess at the front. People had to write their own names down on a paper pad to show where they were in line. When we were seated around 40 minutes later, our waitress took a long time to see us. When she finially dragged herself to our table, she begrudgingly took our drink orders. Several long minutes later she came back for our food orders. I ordered what I always order: Chicken and Waffles. When the food got out a long time later, it was cold. Colder then room temperature cold. All of our food was cold. Obviously pre-cooked cold. I politely told our waitress (the temp is not her fault so why be mad?) that it was cold. She apologized and took it back. Soon after, she brought me my meal. I bit in to a waffle, and it wasn't done. It was doughy in the middle, but not enough to complain again. The majority of my meal was good, until I reached my last chicken tender. It was raw. Completely RAW! Not cooked at all! Obviously taken out of the freezer and dropped in the fryer. I spat it out in disgust. Then I realized, my chicken had not been light and soft because it was cooked well, it had been soft because it was under-cooked! Disgusting! RAW CHICKEN! As I sit here now I already feel the onset of a long night of stomach sickness. Sadly, the real sickness is not my stomach but the restraunt itself. The management is sick to allow such horrendous service. When I told the manager about my RAW chicken what did he do? He offered me Two new chicken strips. "No thanks," I said, "I'm good." He took my food, and then he CHARGED ME FOR IT! That's right, I had to pay for my chicken. I had to pay for raw chicken and raw Waffles. Sick. He came back after I had payed and gave me a card which entitled me to one free entré. That's it? THAT'S IT? I will NEVER eat at this place again. I hate to think that people are served raw and undercooked meat here, and that the manager is so inept. I marvel at how they told us the wait would be 15 when it was 40 with 7 open tables.
