I'm here now with my 2 cousins, I'm on a "NO bad carbs" challenge for a month so finding things to eat while traveling is a damn challenge. The wait time was ok. We were sat by the kitchen and had to be moved because the smell of the old mop water wasn't cutting it. Once the server came and told me they didn't have this nor that I wanted to leave BUT I'm a trooper. My cousins wanted grits, they were told they only make ONE pot per day and it's all gone. Worst service I have ever experienced. Took almost two hours in after ordering to receive our food. Table was unclean and caked with water. Server neglected to bring a towel to clean after noticing. My friend even made a special request for turkey sausage in place of pork. Nevertheless, she was brought pork sausage. She has a severe allergic reaction to pork. Not only that, she and I both were brought cold food, after having waited for an hour. Our other two guests never received their food, therefore we decided to take our business elsewhere. Honestly this IHOP does not even get 1 Star... when we arrived there was a full waiting area. The hostess told us for a family of 4 15 minutes. So we sat down and waited they called 2 names- she walked them back and then we sat, and sat and sat! 1 hour went by not one name was called- a line of people standing around to be put on the waiting list. Management does not care at all about customer service and it shows through the employees. This ihop needs some serious help. I was greeted by crystal methany at the door and gave my girlfriend a menu and myself 5 of the special menus but no regular menu. We ordered a breakfast sampler and the spicy poblano omelette and asked for no bell peppers so they gave us a meat and cheese omelette. Our server was very obviously high on some sort of opiate had spurred speech and was very lathargic and unresponsive. We haven't been here in over a year. Our last experience with ihop was not good however this visit was totally different. They have made some serious upgrades that are a definite improvement. They have removed a lot of the booths especially in the inner circle of the restaurant and replaced them with wood like table and chairs. The booths that are left got a much needed facelift. The floors are wood like -gone are the days of the nasty carpet. The lighting and decor with the remodeling really brightened up the place. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with workers moving about taking care of the customers. As soon as a table was empty, it was cleaned and ready for the next waiting guest. Our waitress Denise was great. She acknowledged us as she was taking an order and made sure we were served in a timely manner. She checked on us to see if we needed anything. Pleasant attitude and very friendly. The food was good and hot. Hubby had the 55+ cheese omelet and pancakes. He said they were really good. I had the Belgian Waffle with butter pecan syrup. It was cooked crisp just like I like it. Our overall experience was very good and I hope that they continue the good service as we will definitely be back. read more

My family drove from Louisiana to meet family that drove from in from Nashville. We were waiting a few minutes and patrons that were leaving commented on the time it took to be waited on. Eventually, the hostess came over and asked how many, my sister said 7 & then asked if we were going to eat here or somewhere else. The hostess then very rudely looked to the couple behind us & said "Just two? Follow me". As soon as that happened, we left. Hands down this IHOP location has got to be the worst in the region. Horrible customer service, cold food, lack of management, under staffed, and incorrectly filled orders. For DeSoto County to be at the forefront of economic growth for the state of Mississippi, I'm shocked that this IHOP is constantly allowed to perform at such a low and pathetic level in terms of customer service and satisfaction. This was the worst food I have ever had in my life. The best thing I got was my ice water. The coffee was cold, the pancakes were almost definitely microwaved, the omelette was dry, flat, and looked like it was reconstituted and tasted like they used rotten eggs. We had to ask for everything that was supposed to come with our meal separately, sauces, pancakes, toast. Not to mention the staff was cutting up, loud, and breaking dishes all while the manager walked around smiling with his head in the sand while customers were very unhappy. It took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our food, and for most of that time we were the only table there. Our waiter was nice, but he didn't come by once to update us on the status of the food or let us know why it was taking so long.
