5 stars for IHOP for being open so late and being g consistent every time. Great food for what it is.

I'm reviewing the ambiance, which gets at least four stars. This violates my personal rule of restaurant reviews, because I usually go to a restaurant for the purpose of eating food. Let's get the food out of the way - The "Cannoli Pancakes" I ordered provided sufficient volume to fill my belly. The menu refers to their filling as "ricotta." While the sweet, semi-translucent goo inside the pancakes did have a "dairy" quality to it, it had none of the texture or flavor I associate with ricotta. As a fan of Kraft singles when not confused with cheese, I propose the name "American ricotta" for the pleasant filling that oozed from my free pancakes. The pancakes themselves were flawlessly browned, fluffy, and a well-engineered mass-market utilization of inexpensive wheat flour. The atmosphere and of the restaurant was almost shockingly festive. Being there brightened my mood. That's why I'm writing the review. The staff reminded me more of a family-owned Mexican restaurant than a franchised chain. They offered warm smiles as they joked around with each other while bustling through the narrow aisles. The same smiles were offered to me, and the rest of the customers, and a homey sort of warmth permeated the place. That's a rare thing, especially in a restaurant of railcar proportions when it's fully packed. On a busy Saturday, each table seemed to represent a different continent. Many languages were spoken around me, as large and small groups sat down to enjoy classic American-industrial cooking. I found myself enjoying free pancakes in a place that was, of all things I never would have expected, international. My birthday was over a week ago, and I did not celebrate that day with pancakes. The IHOP "birthday pancakes" promotion no longer allows you to just show up with ID, anyway. Now you must "sign up." You're emailed a coupon for the specific location you designate, but it's good for two weeks. My assumption was that this trip would be my visit for the year, with a coupon used on a day I wanted to be stuffed with carbohydrates. Now that I have been to this location, however, I may come back just for the vibe. read more

I love IHOP's seasonal pancakes and I got to try the pumpkin spice pancakes! Very declines pancakes and really liked the golden crispy hash browns. You'll find this place very busy on weekend mornings, but wait time isn't too bad. There is a parking lot (although it may be full) and street parkings available near the restaurant. Not to mention that they are open 24 hours !! read more

Bruh only 1 person serves everyone, also when I got my strawberries and crepes looked like someone nut on my food but overall it's ok.

These guys have been outstanding pretty much every time I've needed late night food!! I always get it to go and it gets all the way back w me still warm and the order is always correct. They even remember the straws and condiments! Actually the only mess up was a few orders back I only got one syrup pack. I made due but it's always better to get too much as opposed to not enough. I've always been a sucker for IHOP, so naturally I love the food here, but what really makes it great is the staff. I've had only positive experiences with the servers here and I come to this location at least a couple times a month. They do an exceptionally good job especially when you consider how crazy Capitol Hill can get. read more

I definitely did not have IHOP on my planned list for a stop but a stop was made here regardless more out of urgency to use the restroom. And of course you can't use the restrooms unless you buy something. I haven't been to an IHOP in years and it was mostly because years ago back in Colorado I went to one for supper and got an awful plate of spaghetti there. I know I probably should have just gotten pancakes since that was what they are best known for but I thought maybe the place was like Denny's where mostly what you get is solid. Wrong. This last time at this last location was not an improvement... maybe even worse. Steve and I got a strawberry crepe which we were not impressed with. The strawberries definitely tasted artificial or preserved and the crepe itself had the primary taste of grease. To make matters even more "interesting" a diner had a half eaten meal and was standing next to her booth with her nose buried in her phone and was slightly swaying back in forth like she was in a sublime delirium and she probably was too but despite that she was in the middle of the aisle and we had to slide past her a couple of times. Both times I said "excuse me" which didn't do a bit of good. I used to enjoy IHOP a lot back when I was a little kid. I'm not sure if the quality of the food declined or if the quality was always subpar but I think it's more decline oriented. Perhaps I just liked the pancakes because they were sweet but I do distinctly remember that back during the college years that the food was much more palatable than what is currently offered at IHOP now. read more

Ordered the Mexican tres leches pancakes there twice: first time they did not/failed to include it in my order and blamed doordash(now I know it was their fault); second time they gave me plain pancakes with spilled sauce in a bag. Contacted the restaurant and they failed to help me in any way shape or form. DO NOT ORDER OR GO HERE. Take your business somewhere that actually give you what you ordered. read more

A hidden gem in my opinion especially on a Christmas morning when 99% of all other restaurants are closed. Yelp had major complaints on this breakfast spot which I didn't witness. The servers were extremely friendly, quick with the orders, and even faster with the check. Coffee isn't the greatest compared to other kiosks or specialty stands in Seattle but on a Xmas day, their coffee was fine. A small crowd but the location is hidden off of Madison Avenue, away from major venues or the freeway. Yelpers, give this place another chance. Worst experience ever. Went there with my friend on 05/04/22 around 11pm; waited over 30 minutes for the server to take our order. The most outrageous thing is that they overcharged me $30 tips for a meal that's about $30 (after splitting the bill with my friend). Friendly staff, good solid breakfast (what I've been craving lately). Bacon could be of better quality but it hit the spot. I was consistently checked on, which is nice because I needed lots of water and coffee before I started my shift. Also, love how early they are because sometimes I need a break from our hospital cafeteria breakfasts. I would totally come back if I have the craving again. However, I wish someone could have said something to the loud large group that was dining there. I would have said something but I was too tired and too hungry to do anything about it. They were so loud that I noticed other patrons just staring at them and the servers getting frustrated. I felt bad for them. As busy as this place is, I love coming here. The servers and the staff are very polite, they smiled and greeted us as we walked in. They came and served us very quickly seeing that there was so much people sitting down to eat. They were fast at working. The food is hearty and neatly set on each plate. I ordered a breakfast sample with cinnamon sugar French toast, and it was so delicious I ate it all. I can honestly say I'm never unhappy with my breakfast here, they always keep me happy and full when I leave! Only problem is the seating, it is very tight booths. But totally understandable due to having been a very old restaurant and in the corner lot! This is a very well kept, restaurant that's been here for years. I get the sense that this IHOP and the Washington State Correctional System have some sort of work release and rehabilitation program agreement. The staff is a little skittish. The food is the same at this IHOP as it is at every IHOP. If you need more details than that, you should apply for the work release program. read more

I wanted a hearty breakfast for NYE so I thought of this place for a simple & faster solution for breakfast. Last time I went to this IHOP, I waited a long time to get seated and I didn't want to put my 2yr old daughter next with people who had colds. lol So I scouted the online menu and I was happy that it show the total amount of calories and can have healthy substitution with turkey bacon or get wheat bread for a healthier choice. I order it on the phone, and was told it was going to be ready in 10 mins so I made the trek to go get it but had to wait another 10 mins to get my order because of the lack of staff helping to seat people waiting to get a table. Even being the first in line and eyeballing my breakfast already ready for me, was told to wait for the next next next person. lol The price is decent and my sirloin tip steaks with grill onions & mushrooms, hashbrowns, eggs over easy and with 3 buttermilk pancakes was pretty tasty. All in all, good hearty breakfast for the fam, better then Dennys but rather go to a higher end seat down breakfast if I have the time. read more

I walked into this IHOP establishment to find out my buddies were lit from drinking 4 shot under 10 seconds in the parking lot and thought it was a wise decision to immediately pursue the 24 pancakes challenge. That ended terribly for them, but the server was very friendly and patient with us. I ordered the All Natural Roasted Turkey and Protein Pancakes as it was one of the healthier choices at IHOP. We ended up staying here for 3+ hours writing book reports, yelp reviews, and drawing abstract art. At the end of the night, we walked out contemplating our life choices. There are only two scenarios of when you can find me at this IHOP: Late night studying or after a night of partying. The food is affordable and predictable. I mean, if you have been to an IHOP you pretty much have been to all of them. I like to order the light and fit breakfast with pumpkin pancakes (when in season) or their breakfast sampler, both of which are fine. We had breakfast at this iHop, everything was delicious and well prepared with care. There were 8 of us but we were sat and two tables adjacent to keep in compliance with the social distancing rules in place for this phase of Covid. Our server HAN was one of the best servers I have ever had. She was attentive with a heart for service. She had a big order to fill with our party of eight but she did it with patience & ease. She could work anywhere and be the star employee. We had a great experience, enjoyed our time together. She made sure our drinks were filled and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed during our meal. IHOP is always open and the food is always good in my opinion. But at this IHOP the food presentation was beautiful and the service was bar none. HAN we all agree you deserve a gold star, a raise and acknowledgement for your impeccable service. read more

Talk about a throwback! IHOP is and will always be a classic, from eggs to bacon, the whole demeanor around an IHOP feels like your taking a step into your childhood. The reason for my review is because of the quality of the food, would I eat there had my pops not bring me there many a times as a child. It's the memories that keep me coming back. Waited 45 mins to be seated. Entree was made incorrectly. Asked for ketchup, didn't get it for 30 minutes. A table with four men were allowed to be point-blank disrespectful to almost every table in the entire restaurant - who is or isn't smashing who, etc. They were allowed to be loud for well over an hour. Had a great first visit here. I visited past 1 AM during a craving for inspiration. Got what I wanted after my peaceful stroll in the cool post-night breeze. I'm enchanted by 24-hr. diners and it had been too long since I had such an experience... I reckon the last was at a Denny's. I had a bottomless ice mocha drink (sugary but good), Pick-A-Pancake Combo (awesome), and an apple cinnamon fruit crepe (by the time I was consuming this, I was severely stuffed -- in hindsight I wouldn't have ordered it as well, I like being full but not feeling bloated). My server was helpful as I chowed down and alternated between the plates. I went for variety, so I chose one sunny side up egg and one scrambled. (Although it looks like they actually gave me two sunnies!) One funny moment was when I was about to ask him for ketchup and he was in the middle of bringing that (and hot sauce) to my table. I tried all the syrups, but forgot to ask for butter this go. My heart attack prevention meter may be better because of it. The only downer was getting someone else's bill at the end, which was promptly corrected. My own bill came out to $20.00 (exactly) and I was satisfied by what I received. I've eaten here twice. I'm making this confession so I don't look like a restaurant snob. I have been known to dine at a chain restaurant on occasion. In an effort to not be a restaurant snob I am giving this IHOP an extra star. Now back to the review: Let me start out by saying that I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants and usually don't eat at them, however... I can't say the same thing about some of the people I know. The parking here is awful and the service was just as bad. In both visits I was forgotten and my food either came cold or it was the wrong item all together. NEVER GOING BACK. TERRIBLE EMPLOYEES. I place an order to this location at 2:57am and it says it'll be ready at 3:14am. I arrive on time. So I walk into the business and stand for about 2 minutes. I see a sign that says wait to be seated; I proceed to wait in the waiting area. I have not been greeted, told they were going to help me soon, or even a greeting like "hello welcome to IHOP!". As I'm waiting for any kind of recognition that I'm there, I see others being served, multiple employees walk past me yet look directly at me. So after waiting for 10 minutes I decide to ask if I can be helped. The MANAGER told me my food cannot be remade, forcefully put my bag on the counter and walked away. A waitress comes up to me rolling her eyes and asks the issue. In the middle of me talking she PUTS HER HAND UP and INTERRUPTS saying she's had enough.... So as I'm telling you the issue it's clearly not much of a concern to her so she disrespects me??? I proceed to ask them to remake my food. Another waitress comes up and says word for word "well you sat there and didn't say anything". I'm sorry.... But last time I checked; I've worked in a restaurant, been a hostess, and a waitress; you are and I quote, supposed to "greet and serve the customer. Provide them with accurate wait times and make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure". NONE OF THAT WAS AT MY SERVICE. I finally get them to remake my order but I get it back in literally less than 2 minutes... I ask if they just heated my food up or actually remade it and they said they remade it. I open my containers and it's the same food. So now my hash browns are soggy when I ordered crispy and my bacon is burnt. I tell them and show them so now their excuse is "they have the food waiting on standby". Ok. Understandable.. so even more of a reason to remake my food. Because if I ordered at 2:57am and my food wouldn't be ready until 3:14am, that's 17 minutes to cook hash browns and bacon. It's not clicking!!!! I'm so upset. I was disrespected, disregarded, and wasn't treated the way their employee handbook says to treat the customers. If they had name tags on, I would provide names. MANAGER: male, average height, Mexican, medium length straight-ish hair. WAITRESS #1: female, Caucasian, short/medium length blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, about 5'4'. WAITRESS #2: female, black sparkly bedazzled mask, heavier set, dark brown/black shorter/medium length hair about 5'5'-5'6'. I wanted to express how unprofessional and uncomfortable this location is. The manager didn't de-escalate the situation, totally gave up/refused to help me after about 2 sentences were exchanged, and left his employees to deal with it. Hopefully the owner sees my review and reevaluates the employees and the managers position. read more
