Pancakes

I visited IHOP in San Leandro and it was the first time in many years. I thought the dining area was good a good size with lots of elbow room to enjoy your meal. The only knock and I don't necessarily blame IHOP because they have little control of the surrounding area but a lot of undesirables from the area come inside the restaurant to beg and bother the customers while eating which can be an unpleasant situation. But the staff are great and provide friendly and efficient customer service. I really liked my waitress, Glendy, she was awesome. The food: Overall I thought the food was passable. It's not great but a solid C+. The Bacon Avocado Burger was a little dry and the bun they use was not very good. The omelette and hash brown were solid. The pancakes were ok. While nothing was terrible, nothing was great. Would I eat here again? Maybe. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come again.

My $7 breakfast special. The pancakes were cold, the eggs over easy were not fully cooked, and the bacon had no flavor.

I came in for the $7 breakfast special, which includes two eggs, two slices of bacon, and two pancakes. You definitely get what you pay for. The pancakes were cold, the eggs over easy were not fully cooked the way they should be, and the bacon was boring at best. My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelet with two pancakes, with a side of hash browns and he was much happier with his meal, so at least that worked out. A cup of coffee is $4.79 and it is a never-ending pot, so that part is a decent value. Parking is ample, but the service was less than adequate. We went on a Friday mid-morning around 10:30. It was relatively crowded, but the service still felt slow and lackluster. All in all, the food matched the price. Not terrible, not great, just one of those meals where you shrug and say, "We got what we paid for."

Ham & Cheese Omelette with 2 Pancakes

I came here in the morning around 10am and there weren't a lot of people inside. It didn't even look like the place was half full. I was seated right away and was I told I could sit anywhere I wanted. My order was quick to come out. I got the ham & cheese omelette from their value menu. The eggs were nicely cooked and the little ham pieces were tender. The cheese sauce and melted cheese were so good and made the omelette taste creamy. It also came with 2 buttermilk pancakes which were really fluffy. Service was better than I expected. I'm not sure if it was because I came during their slower morning hours. They did have like 4 or 5 servers on the floor helping guests. I didn't get my servers name but he was very nice and friendly. He made multiple rounds to make sure I had water and if I needed anything else. The inside of the restaurant was clean. I thought the men's restroom was clean too. There was plenty of free parking since this location was inside the San Leandro Plaza.

So my free birthday stack of pancakes! Yummy September 20,2023! Now 4 sausage or 4 bacon

The waiter was by himself hustling. He took care of our table and 8 others with a smile. I couldn't believe he was by himself, handling his customers with care. He smiled was very kind and got all of our demands perfect. I'm not sure why he didn't have any help. He smiles and just did his job. This young man needs a raise. Thank you oh I forgot his name. I will find receipt and attach.

I like to look for new spins on lattes to see what barista's are whipping up to make things unique. I came in thinking I was going to get a basic latte, but the Borgia Mocha caught my eye! I asked the cashier if it was a good choice and she recommended it. I was a little unsure how the two would blend and how much orange they would use in it, but it came out amazing! Honestly probably one of the top 10 unique mocha's I have tried and it was delicious! I loved the burst of refreshing orange that complimented the chocolate. The flavors danced on my tastebuds like two separate flavors that blended together as one. Each holding their own note that added value to the drink making it unique. I was instantly impressed and wish I found this on more menus! A classic mocha with a refreshing twist of orange was a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad I stopped in for a pick me up! I also loved all the art on the large walls and there looked to be plenty of tables and seating for people to eat and work at.

Cons: can be a pretty busy spot, not the most consistent, the specific beans I like aren't always available. Notes: Thought I had written a review here a while back as they are a part of my post Oakland airport tradition. My routine, fly into to Oakland, drive to Moussaka for lunch (rip the former chef/owner and restaurant), head 2 doors down to Zocalo for coffee on the ride home. If my flight was extra early and Moussaka was closed still, Zocalo was more than good enough to fit my food and coffee needs.

It was truly one of the best catering experiences I have had from the professionalism of the onsite staff to the exceptional quality of every dish served. I was unfortunately too busy managing the event (and enjoying the food) to take photos, but the menu absolutely deserves recognition. Highlights included the perfectly seasoned Farmer's Market Scramble, Chicken Apple Sausage, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Sauce, and Herb Roasted Potatoes for breakfast. Lunch featured incredibly tender Short Ribs, perfectly glazed and moist Grilled Chicken, grilled polenta, and the best honey butter cornbread I have ever had. Our guests consistently commented on how outstanding the food was...and this group is not easily impressed when it comes to catering. A sincere thank you to Pinky and the entire team for delivering such a seamless and memorable experience. I will absolutely keep PINX Catering in mind for future events and would highly recommend them to others.

Hidden gem! A part of me doesn't want to write this review…read morebecause I want to gatekeep this place! The service employees are very kind and were patient as I was super indecisive when ordering. The menu is HUGE , with many healthy options available. I love that the drinks are served in traditional Mexican clay mugs (ollas). The inside area is tiny, but there is plenty of seating outside, with heat lamps for chilly days. I love their yogurt bowl and chia bowl. Their chia pudding is THICK made with coconut cream- I've tried to recreate at home and I can't get it as delicious. We've loved their sandwiches, salads and burritos as well. Their warm come straight off the grill on the patio. Their chai, cafe de olla and fresh juices are amazing. They have alternative milk for anyone who is dairy free. On weekends, expect a 15-20 minute wait as they do get busy, but it's so worth it!

They had lots of delicious food jnside, something for everyone although I've never seen breakfast inside a Thai place before I always go straight for the lunch :) All the staff were very welcoming and let us take our time to order as we do get picky on what we order. Our time that we went, it was busy and they did have plenty of people who were waiting. It does tend to get busy on weekends. I do like chicken a lot after all these years and thats what I had. It would have been five, but the waitress never brought us our appetizer so we had to ask that it would be removed from the bill at the end. The fried mushrooms were heavily greased, and was not seasoned at all and it made it seem like we were biting into nothing but crunchy oil. Was not appetizing. But it was pretty lol The crab fried rice was pretty good. I guess it was one of their specialties. The service was extremely slow. Seems like it would benefit for them to hire a few more people to run tables as it was very obvious that they could not handle the DoorDash orders along with what was going on inside of the restaurant. We had seen some people step out of the kitchen to assist with the DoorDash orders and help the girls in the front organize things. And unfortunately, the DoorDashers had to wait around for a really long time and probably ended up not getting a tip and a bad review due to the delay. Though the food did come out fast! However, it took us about 30 minutes just to get our bill. We actually never really got the Bill. We had walked up to the employees and asked if we can pay for a bill.
