My son and Mom were bugging me to go to this new location and I finally obliged. The wait to be seated wasn't long at all and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, though all friendly, they were not created equal. The table of 3 who arrived 5 minutes after us and ordered after us were served at least 5 minutes before our table of 3. A server that wasn't ours brought a portion of our meal and we waited 5-7 minutes for our server to bring the remainder of the meal. My french toast was hard and barely warm. The topping was very good, but the actual french toast spoiled it. Once we finished eating, we spent another 5-7 minutes trying to find our server so we could get our bill and leave. Meanwhile, the party that arrived after us were long gone. $76 for 3 mediocre breakfast meals is not what I consider a great time out. Thankfully I had great company! read more

I went here on a Saturday. I did the waitlist online. My family ordered omelettes , we waited once we got our table almost 30mins just for them to come take our drink orders. And than once we ordered the food another 30 mins. The waiter never came to ask how we were doing if we needed anything. It was such a horrible customer service. Don't bother going for breakfast if you are on your own. I honestly don't know if the food and wait staff are good or not because they never sat me at a table. When I arrived, the host put my name down and said there would be a wait time of 15-20 mins. I sat there for 35 mins and watched the host seat two couples who arrived after me. I was short on time and just left at that point. Clearly, they don't want to waste their time on singles when they can fill the tables with couples and families. read more

I usually go to the IHop in Hawyard but today I tried the San Leandro one. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered the breakfast sampler. The hadbrowns on my plate were completely over cooked and black. I couldn't even cut it with my fork to eat it. The pancakes were alright, but not the best and the bacon was burnt so bad, it wasn't edible. The ham was burnt as well and really hard to cut. I love bacon and ham this was probably the worst bacon and ham I've had in my life. On top of that the waitress was incredibly rude and tried to rush us out of the diner. She only came up to us when it was time to order and for the bill. As soon as our food was served to us, she gave us the bill and we left ASAP. Don't go here! Hayward IHop is where it's at. The wait list for seating is unique. You get a text that lets you know your wait status and when your table is ready. However, once seated it took about 15 minutes before a server took our order. Then another 30 to 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. In the meantime, it took the Manager's attention versus the server to finally get our order and to get us our coffee. While waiting for our order I started noticing that wrong orders was being brought to several tables around us. And then it happened to us, they brought a wrong order to our table. The food: The 55+ plate that my wife ordered was supposed to have two eggs. It was apparent to us that it was only 1. My 2 eggs over were cooked perfectly and the coffee was great. We may or may not go back based upon the issues noted. read more

This location is showing on yelp that it is closed. I've been calling for several minutes for take out. on my way to the restaurant when I arrive it is open, I go inside to place an order to go and while I was placing an order the manager Clarence decides that he's gonna throw some dirty napkins while I was speaking to an associate taking my order, they landed on me, and he simply said that he was sorry! And walked away and turned his back on me very unprofessional move !!!! Especially coming from a manager you would think he'd have a little more sense and just simply walk over and put the napkins in the trash not throw them at customers!! read more

Do not come here ! They took my order but never sent it to the kitchen !!! I waited more than 35 min and my food never got here ! I went to ask a server how much longer, and he said they never started our order! Other customers that arrived after us got their food ! I ordered a Sun-N-Shine w/Bacon no eggs sub/fruit bowl. When I received my order I got sausage hash browns and a fruit bowl which is not what I ordered... Everything was a mess. CLARENCE IS A HORRENDOUS MANAGER. Made a Yelp account just to review this awful place. This IHOP is new in our area and in our very first visit me and my brother were racially discriminated by the Manager CLARENCE. In the middle of our meal he came up to us and said we had a previous experience with our buddies and we had to pay the bill immediately. I asked if maybe we had some kind of misunderstanding and he said to not worry about it and pay IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MEAL. The waiter Katie was super nice and asked if everything was ok. She was great. But the manager came up to the only 2 brown latino teens in the restaurant and had them pay. No other people or families were asked to pay only us 2 latino teens. On our way out we asked again if there was a misunderstanding and CLARENCE CURSED AT US! He told us to get the f**k out of his face and proceeds to tell my friend "I will f***k you up!!". I asked him respectfully to talk about the situation and he kicked me out of the IHOP. This was an absolutely horribly experience and will be escalated to the farthest extent. Stay away from Clarence he is a racist, rude, ignorant manager and is an embarrassment to the franchise that is IHOP. A terrible manager. Me and my grandma decided to go here for breakfast, probably worse food I've ever had. I ordered a 2x2x2 and replace the pancakes with the cinnamon stack pancakes. The waiter was struggling to replace the pancakes, so I had to guide him on how to use his own technology. I finally get my pancakes first so I'm thinking oh, the other food must be coming later thats fine. I eat the pancakes and they taste normal, nothing too special. I finish and the waiter tries to take my plate and I ask about my other food. He then asks me what other food. Like what???? You literally asked my if I wanted bacon or sausage and how I wanted my eggs??? I then tell him what I wanted and he brings it out. I eat 1 egg, they were sunny side ip. The egg was raw. The yolk was as cold as a water bottle coming out of the fridge, where the whites were cooked making be believe they add the egg after its cooked. How can a diner mess up on a egg? Today my family and I came to this location for breakfast. We got the worst treatment possible from the staff. Our waitress was extremely rude and after bringing us food that sat dying in the kitchen she refused to exchange our food. We requested to speak to a manager and things got worse. We got approached by someone claiming to be the GM, I couldn't tell because of the energy this person brought. As my mother tried to explain the situation this person snatched her plate from her hands and told her in the rudest possible tone that he will remake it. This person then proceeded to try and take plates from the entire table although not everyone had issues with the food. He got upset and stormed off leaving everyone confused. When he returned he assumed we would be paying for this service and we informed him we wouldn't be then shouted racist and sexist slurs at my family as we left the restaurant. We also over heard this person telling his female employees that they looked smoking hot. IHOP you need fire this person immediately, he is unhinged, racist and a terrible example of what an employee should be exhibiting. read more
