May '24 - Menu: Breakfast Combos

When you're hungry, can't go wrong at IHOP. This location on Oxnard Blvd & Gonzales has been here for many years. It shares a lot with other businesses now. What a difference from when I was a young kid... The food is simple, good & they serve big portions. I go here for Breakfast, but they also offer lunch & dinner too. I haven't tried their lunch or dinner yet, but the menu looks inviting... There's something for everyone! This location offers Happy Hour. Don't get your hopes up, it's only for food lols. IHOP Happy Hour 3pm-9pm. The mister is a fan of their pancakes. I mean who isn't?! Those thick fluffy pancakes, drizzled with one of their syrups... Remember, how they used to have all the syrups at the table? They have just the original syrup on the table. Which is a good thing. Because you wouldn't want the kids to be drenching their pancakes with every single syrup. (Me, that was me, when I was a little girl haha).... But if you ask nicely, you can still get the sweet strawberry syrup :) It wasn't busy when we went, so it was a good experience. We were Hangry, so nothing was left behind. Had great service from Martha during this visit. Thank you Martha for being so sweet & attentive!! You definitely deserve a 5/5 Martha!

This restaurant is off W Gonzales Rd & Oxnard Blvd , Oxnard CA. We came here last Thursday at 11:35am It wasn't busy at all & great timing! Upon entering I've noticed how super clean, very organized, highly organized! We were greeted and our hostess brought us to our table . We were immediately helped with our Drinks , so thank you so much Martin! As we look at the menu, there is a ton of choices to choose from breakfast, lunches, dinners, and desserts , a little bit of everything. Our waitress Celeste G, she we had some questions about some of the dishes, she politely answered all of them! She was super kind, sweet, caring, very genuine, very down to earth. She has a radiant, upbeat personality. She is your Rare Diamond! We ordered the Fisherman's platter, BIG steak omelette with 3 buttermilk pancakes, with 3 coffees, pancake combo. As we were waiting for our food, I've really notice all the workers really helping each other and making sure all the customers were all set. Our food came and oh boy their serving is big! Everything was delicious to the point we couldn't finish all of it! I would like to thank IHOP Staff of Oxnard for being so kind! I would especially Love to Thank Celeste G. For making our day so positive & wondering ! Please be Courteous & kind to these hard workers! I'll tell all my Family and Friends to come here!

I really wish I would have talked to a manager on site but for the sake of not letting it ruin my mother in laws birthday I stayed quiet. Me and my family of 7 ate here after 2 long months of not seeing each other. I was very happy to be in the presence of my family after a long time. Unfortunately the server we got her name was Janeth and this is also confirmed on the receipt I added to the photo section of this review. This server was so incredibly unprofessional. Her attitude spoke VOLUMES. She was literally so upset she had to do her job. Any question we had she just had some sort of smart response. She yelled from across the table to my husband about wanting extra ranch. She talked to my MiL like if she was a child. After my MiL asked to many questions about the options on the menu. She also yelled at the server helping her with drinks about miss placing the drinks which he apologized! Which was not a big deal to us but she told him something about it but with a big attitude. She made a fuss about any question we had. She is way too comfortable treating people this way. Me and my family will not be dining here anymore.

I am a loyal customer of IHOP. However, my most recent visit here on 10/18/2025 was beyond disappointing. The coffee mugs had smeared lipstick on them. So when brought to their attention they said they would get us another, no apology. We waited about 15 minutes to get our pancakes after all the rest of the food was served. Okay, that's fine but the pancakes were not fully cooked and raw inside. So again brought to their attention, they said they would get us another. Another 25 minutes go by and the manager comes out with the pancakes and says it happens, no apology still. Pancake was cooked but by then I was no longer hungry and already feeling unwell from the raw pancakes. I was sick the remaining of the day and night from being food poisoned here. I will never return and I highly recommend others to also not frequent this particular IHOP since food cleanliness and safety is not a priority at this IHOP.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.

I rarely eat any "fast food" like McDonalds, Jack In the Box, etc. and consider Five Guys to be a step above those places based on the quality of the food and how everything is cooked to order. I also don't feel sick to my stomach after eating there. I love the topping options like grilled mushrooms that Five Guys offers and the ingredients always taste super fresh to me. The fries with the skin on and malt vinegar are addicting and IMO far superior to In N Out. The prices have definitely gone up a lot over the years...the little cheeseburger and little fries was around $17, which does feel a bit steep, but that's how things go right now. The regular cheeseburger was only $2 more but I didn't want the calories of that, which are over 1000 by the time you add toppings and the little cheeseburger is always perfectly filling for me. When crowded, parking can be a bit difficult but I have always managed to find a spot. This location itself was very clean and the staff were all friendly. It was pretty empty at that particular location, with everyone getting orders to go, so it felt a bit depressing in there, but hopefully I was just in there at a slow time.

Fresh ingredients and bold flavors made it a hit. Today, after a long baseball practice, my hungry tweens had one thing in mind--refueling here. The Little Classic Combo was the perfect choice for them. At $12.99, it felt like a good value considering the high-quality ingredients. The cashier was friendly and helpful, even recommending the combo for the boys. They went all the way--grilled onions, mushrooms, and a bag full of fries to share. Definitely a home run! Beyond the food, I appreciated the clean and well-organized space. The bonus? Complimentary peanuts while you wait! Best of all, while they enjoyed their meal, I got to soak up the sun with a latte. Win-win! We will definitely be back.
