Meh. I give most everyone a great review. I look through the bad times & know sometimes people are overworked/understaffed. But this is ridiculous. I ordered pick up from the app at 9am for a 9:20 pick up. I arrived and walked in at 9:17am- empty dining room. Waitress walked past. One hostess, two hostess. No eye contact. No hello, good morning from ANY employee. I was completely floored. I grew up working in restaurants and this is a no-no. The hostesses went right to the hostess station. Doing whatever they do and ignoring me the whole time. I thought the hostess job requires you to greet people? I stood here for over 5 mins until someone with a take out for another person came out and saw me. I looked at her and told her my name without her asking. The order was not ready for another 13 mins. I don't know if I will ever order from here ever again. I will pay the extra price and dine where customer service matters. I am an over tipper. My server was ok the food was terrible. I ordered biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and four pieces of sausage. What I got was two pancakes that were undone with gravy on them. I wouldn't eat it and asked for toast instead. The manager came out and told me that no one ever told her that they weren't biscuits and that she would be leaving the order price the same cause the change in my ticket would be more. I genuinely am so surprised with how down hill its gone. waited almost 7 minutes for someone to even pop out from the back, when they did, it was two servers. one younger girl who had all the tables and a older lady. the older lady proceeded to say "we will be right with you" which we? because no one seen you at all. we got seated (im not sure her name but she was extremely nice!) and then another 10-15 minutes go by before she comes over to get our drink order. (im assuming shes new because there was only about three tables and even the other two were there before i was but yet didnt get served until i got there so why not take their drink order the minute they sit down? its not busy enough to be hiding in the back) we placed our order at the same time. which the 6$ menu shoulda been but was not mentiond until i brought it up. when the food FINALLY came (at least another 20-25 minutes. again. three tables. when i worked there that woulda taken me 10 minutes MAX. all three at the same time) the food was so disgusting just looking at it. the omelette was half of one practically. the eggs were dry and over cooked. the hashbrowns looked like styrofoam and tasted like plastic. no amount of sauce or salt could change it either. my bf ordered the scrambler and the eggs were dry again. looked styrofoamy. even the dr pepper tasted weird. in total, what should have been a 25 minute visit took almost a hour with zero apologies, zero effort, and the only one i seen was the young girl who was running around like crazy. ik there was a manager there she just doesnt know how to be a manager clearly. no help, didnt check up on tables and just hid. and their cook needs to figure out how to cook good but efficiently instead of screaming random song lyrics and slamming pots and pans. severely disappointed and unsatisfied. id steer clear unless you like dirty bathrooms, pure silence, and getting sick off your food your paying to much for. read more

Service sucked - In short, do not go there if you want a pleasant/warm atmosphere. Food - Cold & Slow. Their manager doesn't de-escalate situations, she amplifies them. To make matters worse, they thought I skipped the bill because I had to take my toddlers out to the vehicle due to ordinary toddler behavior. I asked for a box, it never came. I was bombarded with typical responses.. "only 2 cooks, busy, etc".. however, they weren't too busy, they had plenty of staff waiting to come chase me down when I walked back in to grab my food they almost threw away & to pay the bill. Side note, I tried to pay the bill before I walked out to avoid confusion & the receptionist told me my server had to cash me out. Everytime I come here for a curbside order it says my order is ready and it will be out shortly and no one even brings it out. I called and they said it would be out shortly and 15 min later I walked in to grab it and it was just sitting there at the desk. *update : we were contacted by Mike the manager, and he apologized and asked if we would give them one more chance. We were very hesitant but he assured us that he had a talk with his staff and things would be different. So we went today 3/9/2020 and had our same waitress as the other night. All I can say is Wow, everything was spectacular. Our waitress Kathleen was very attentive and kind. Our food was hot and the kids got their marshmellows and purple whipped creme. Our bill was taken care of by the manager partly as a appology and partly as a thank you for giving them a second chance. Turns out they were just overwhelmed and they ran out of the marshmellows and whipped creme , they just forgot to mention it due to how busy they were. This lady took 40 mins to get drinks and another 20 to come back and take our order. After we got our food, she didn't visit us for another 30 mins. IHOP is the newest addition to what I'd call trucker cuisine in Monroe. Exit 15 is well-known to truckers and travelers who use I-75 to get to Dixie or upstate. The place used to be a Big Boy's and it really needed to go. Both of the Big Boy's in town are gone now, and no one misses them. The new IHOP is on the same side of the street as the Pilot and the Cracker Barrel. The Knight's Inn is going thru some transformation, but the Quality Inn is available for sleep, so if you are planning your trucker vacation, book now! The inside of the IHOP is beautiful-brick and copper and lots of light. The ambience is "Road Trip". Seventies soft rock ( think Stevie Nicks and the Eagles) plays in the background and the artwork is a tasteful advertisement for the chain. We were seated at what was probably the worst table. It's right behind the cash register and if you ever are offered it, refuse. People are being cashed out all the time and the staff has to squeeze by to get to it. Nearby are the booster chairs and that also contributes to the downbeat vibe. Otherwise, the restaurant is great. We arrived at noon and ordered quickly. My sister had a citrus chicken salad which she said was the best one she's ever had. It looked super fresh and they gave her two containers of dressing so she could be generous with it. I decided to try the chicken and waffles. They were hot and tasty. On the table were four choices of syrup: blueberry, strawberry, old-fashioned, and butter pecan. I tried that and it was a good decision. Portions are ample and while I took half of mine home, my sister scarfed all of hers down! The manager is hands on and I saw him wiping down tables and interacting with his staff. In the kitchen, which you can see into from our table, they celebrated a co-worker's birthday with a quick heartfelt song, before going back to work. The staff is well trained and seem to get along, which increases the good vibes of the place. All in all, I'd definitely go back. Just not to that table! read more

She comes up grabs my order and says to me it's six dollars and some change fine so I hand her a $20 bill she looks at me strangely and says do you have anything smaller no I say I have $100 bill she says well it's going to be a few minutes because I have to go get change now mind you my food is now sitting out here getting cold I wasn't offered to have a new waffle made while main sat there getting cold I wasn't offered a glass of water just sit there and Safari while I wait I wasn't even offered a simple cup of coffee. This place had an order that was unexplainable I don't know if they need their drain cleaned out or the girls traps cleaned but it was just awful I will never ever return to the store they need to replace the management fire is a midnight shift and start from scratch it is the worst place I have ever visited. The food tasted fine but the service was horrible. Our server came to our table three times- to seat us, bring our drinks, and serve our food. She never came to check on us or bring drink refills. We never got the bacon that was supposed to come with one of our meals- we brought it to her attention when she brought our food. She said she would be right back with it, but we didn't see her again for almost forty minutes until we tracked her down for our check. This is the slowest restaurant I have ever been in. And we got the slowest waitress also. Our 5 to 10 minute wait turned into 30 minutes. While there was 5 tables sitting dirty. I've been to this restaurant many times, and the food is always delicious. The restaurant is always clean and attractive. However, the quality of service really depends on who ends up waiting on you. Most of the waitresses here are very friendly and attentive, and take pride in their work. But there have been a few who have inspired me to give IHOP 4 stars instead of 5. On one visit I ordered a meal that turned out to be very messy, so I asked the waitress for extra napkins. It took her at least 20 minutes to bring us extra napkins, even though she had passed our table many times and it would have been perfectly easy to drop off some napkins on her way to someone else's table. And my most recent visit, we had a different but equally mediocre waitress. This girl has waited on me before, and I don't appreciate her rude and inattentive demeanor. I don't like it when she's our server. Every time she waits on us, she always forgets to give us silverware when she seats us and I always have to specifically ask for silverware. Also during our last visit, she never checked on us to see how our food was or anything. She walked past our table several times but didn't even stop even once to ask if we needed anything. She never smiles, never says please or thank you, nothing. Aside from a few lousy servers, my experiences with IHOP have been mostly positive. The food is always delicious, the prices are very affordable, and if you get a good waitress, you can have a really enjoyable visit. read more

Giving two stars because the food is pretty good. The pancakes have been good the times I got them. Everything else is hit and miss. The service also is very hit and miss. I've had one good server and then a few really bad ones that forget about you. My biggest complaint is they randomly charged my card twice. I've been trying to get it resolved for awhile now. The manager wasn't in of course when I called. Then it was oh it happened to multiple people we don't know what happened. They were going to update me and of course I haven't heard from them. IHOP is alway decent for breakfast. I usually have an omelette. However it is good to ask for fresh eggs if you don't want pancake batter mixed into your eggs which I do not. They turned off their fryers for cleaning on Sunday late afternoon instead of doing it in the middle of the night so only a partial menu is available. Took our order after sitting for 30min and then took an hour to make our food. Instead of french fries I ordered onion rings and they gave me 4 little onion rings. Oh boy, where to start... I wanted breakfast for lunch yesterday so I decided to try IHOP. I ordered the French Toast combo with sausage, eggs over easy and a side of toast. When it came out it wasn't very hot, the eggs were over well-done and the bacon that I got instead of sausage looked like it was from last week. The waitress was very nice about it and said they would remake that plate. I ate my french toast which was nothing special and when my other plate came out, my eggs were perfect and the sausage was cold. Not warm, cold.
