Monroe staple. Vince's has an array of food other than their tasty chili dogs! The root beer is on point. Served with no ice. Perfect spot to stop and enjoy a warm day & some peaceful views of the River Raisin. I love their chili dogs all the way with some fries. It's my go-to. The chili sauce is tomato based. Different than the "usual," and you need to give it a try. You will love it!

Polish sausage with onions and peppers

Saw the specials for the polish sausage 2 for $5 and the ham and cheese for 2 for $11 and thought I'd try. Really liked the ham and cheese, the polish sausage was on BBC a hot dog bun but was only ok. Had with onions and peppers. Addison was really quick and very nice.

This is a permanent stop every time I'm in Monroe. Fantastic food, great service, and great root beer. I don't even like root beer, but I get it here! I was smart and actually took some of their sauce home this time, so my family could enjoy it like I did. Can't rave about this place enough. Prices are good too!

The food was ok, but I definitely wouldn't come back again and I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody. The burger patty was bland and super greasy. They put a lot of onion on their burgers, so if you don't like onion that much, ask for light or no onion. The homemade root beer tasted like it was full of artificial vanilla. Some people may find this ok, but it made my stomach hurt and made my husband almost puke. The chili cheese fries were the worst part. The chili was bland for the most part. The only strong flavor it had was a super sweet ketchup flavor. This seems to be a common complaint about their chili. The good parts about this place are that the food comes out fast and that the place looked decently clean on the outside (not sure about the inside).

This was my 2nd stop to try root beer in Monroe. I ordered a small root beer to go, which was served in a 12oz cup with ice. The root beer itself was even more creamy than Monroe's with hints of some other spices added. I didnt like it as much though. Decent price at $1.25

Great coneys but the sauce is a little more tomato based than others. Root beer is delicious and I love the cheesy waffle fries

There is something strange about the chili, and not in a good way. Retro drive-in experience is neat though.

Harbor Hook and Grille - Tuna Poke Bowl

Harbor Hook and Grille

Location, location, location! Located near a hot fishing spot, you'd expect a sea fare and that's…read morewhat Harbor Hook has. Not only Great Lakes fish but also ocean poke and calamari. This is not the type of restaurant that you'd expect in a coastal fishing village. My four star rating is based on the above and value. As pictured, the cuban sandwich and onion rings. I prefer battered rings, but these were breaded and seasoned. They were the best breaded rings i've ever had. The cuban sandwich was traditional with ham, pulled pork, cheese and pickles. It wasn't pressed, but that didn't affect the taste, just the appearance. The servers were very attentive and refilled my iced tea three times. Very clean eating area and restroom.

On our way home from a run to the airport, we were both famished, so we turned to our trusty…read moreresource - Yelp! We were approaching the Monroe area, and did not want any fast food. We chose Habor Hook & Grille. This restaurant sits right across the street from the harbor, hence part of the name, and the food pics looked appealing. It was almost 9pm on a Tuesday night, so there weren't many people. It was rather dark when we entered, so I inquired if it was too late to get dinner and we were told the restaurant was serving until 10pm. The restaurant and bar area was a large open area with very high ceilings. There is an outdoor area for seating and what looked like a bar area as well. I asked about daily specials and our server told us there weren't any due to the Harbor Hook & Grille just implemented a new menu with several new offerings. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Calamari appetizer (served with a thicker marinara sauce), the Harbor Cubano sandwich with fries, and the Tuna Poke Bowl. Tha Calamari was good, but could've used some additional seasoning as it was somewhat bland. The Harbor Cubano sandwich was also good - roasted pork, sliced ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and mustard. There wasn't much mustard if any, so our server offered any of their sauces - a garlic aioli was selected. This sandwich was served with fries. I am not sure if it was because we arrived so late or what may have happened, but these fries were somewhat mushy and limp. They may have been sitting for a while or undercooked. The Tuna Poke Bowl, in my opinion, was the highlight of our food selections. The flavor of the tuna, cucumber, carrots, radishes, and pickled onions were topped with a spicy sauce that paired very well with this dish. All-in-all a decent dining experience. I would've gone with 3.5 stars if available in Yelp! scoring.
