I would definitely recommend this location on Pennsylvania Road and they have another place on Allen Road in Allen Park and I've been there also but I prefer this place on Pennsylvania. 4 of us went for lunch on a Saturday. I had a Reuben Sandwich. It was out of this world delicious and humongous. I could barely finish half of the sandwich. Another person had the super bird sandwich. While he said it was good he said not nearly as good as the Ruben. Another person got the giant corned beef and had sauerkraut and thousand island dressing added to it. Not sure why he didn't get Ruben but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. I think the fact that it said giant is why he got it. Another person got the Philly cheesesteak and said it was very good and would definitely get it again. The chicken had a good taste but I didn't like the texture of the chicken it's like precooked chicken and all you have to do is heat it up. I'm not a big fan. The ambiance is a typical bar feel. Accoustics are horrible, if there are more than three tables its loud-me and my husband went in one friday so he could have the fish, hes hard to please but he really liked it, the fries were room temp though, he really wanted the fish the following friday so we went back, his fish was completely different, they said it was cod again yet he didnt think so(he knows his fish), his fries were undercooked and mine were cold again. The nice part about this Wheat and Rye compared to the airport Wheat and Rye is they serve water! The place looks pretty modern by comparison. I didn't get a chance to check drink prices or specials. The food was good. The portions were comperable for the standard menu sandwhiches but the newer sandwhiches were a bit smaller then typical Wheat and Rye size. If you haven't been to either Wheat and Rye, come hungry. The portions are massive. One sandwhich should last on average, 2 meals. read more

I've compared the pastrami and corned beef to Katz and Carnegie Deli in NY and it was better without the long lines and steep 30 per sandwich price. My fiancé and I came here at 8pm on Thursday because I was craving their polish combo. After about 15 minutes the waitress came over and gave us menus and said the kitchen would be closing soon to take a look at the menu. She came back around and I asked her if they still had the polish dinner because I knew it was late in the day and sometimes things like that sell out. She said yes. We order an appetizer and my fiancés food. 10 minutes later another couple seats by us and I was paying attention to what they were ordering because the woman pointed at the polish combo and I saw the waitress said something to her but I couldn't quite tell what but the woman flipped through the menu so I was assuming she told her they were sold out. And if that was the case I thought maybe I got the last polish meal because she didn't tell me anything. A few minutes later we got our app, the pretzel bites which were great! It was around 9:20 at this point, no one has come by the table, everyone around us got their food, and we were still waiting.... And waiting..... finally around 9:30 the waitress comes out to our table to say "I'm sorry the kitchen said we're out of the polish dinner. They told me for the other table but not for you." So I said no problem and ordered something else. I was trying to have a good night and was over it already so I didn't want to argue with anyone. I'm just severely disappointed. I feel like the waitress should have thought of the fact that if there was no more for the other couple then there wasn't anymore in general, follow up would have been nice. She only had our table, a table of 2 and a table of 4. They were super busy as it was a Thursday night. But she could have been having a tough day but it sucks that we got the blah end of it. When we reordered around 9:30 we got our food around 9:50. It wasn't great, I ate a few bites, pack it up and brought it home to my dog. Horrible doesn't begin to describe the experience. Our waitress was not only horrid and unprofessional but also incredibly rude. We sat for nearly a full hour waiting for our food to come and she was quite snarky when she came to the table to "check" on us and asked if everything was ok. I said, "Ummmm...do you know where our food is?" We saw people who came in after us being served so we thought maybe our slip had gotten lost. She went back to check and said that they had to re-make a bunch of stuff and that's what was taking so long. She finally brought out food - with several minutes between the first two plates being delivered and the final two. We were a table of 4, for goodness sake - it shouldn't have been so hard. She set the final plate down and asked if we needed anything else. Hmmm...yes - silverware, napkins, ketchup, refills, less attitude. She was completely clueless and apparently there's a cap on how many refills you can get because she stopped refilling our water/iced teas and pops completely once our food arrived. We had one bad experience here before with some rancid coleslaw but returned (and always pass on the slaw) - it has never been this bad. Spiraling quickly downward, in my opinion and we are super tolerant and forgiving people - this was an awful experience and certainly not worth $50+ that this debacle cost. read more

They said 'no problem'. The ambiance, service & food was top notch. The owner allowed us to set up a table with cake, a guest book & pictures of the loved ones we had lost. When I got the order home, there was no soup in the bag. My wife's burger was burnt, past well done. It had lettuce and tomato, no onion. I called to ask about the soup, they said they were now out of Chicken Poblano soup, but they could refund me if I came back in. So I went back. After I arrived I let the bartender know I was the one with the missing soup. She left, came back 5 minutes later, and told me they could comp me soup on my next visit. Although they do not have the all-you-can-eat fish at this location, the fish was well cooked and very filling so were very satisfied with one plate of fish.
