We originally were heading towards Big Bear Lodge, but the wait was too long, across the street we notice this beautiful diner, Pipers Diner was so cozy and welcoming. We were immediately greeted by the lovely waitresses and each one of them had a inviting smile. The restaurant was small but clean and well maintain, hospitality was 10/10 as well as the food, incredible flavor. Definitely spotted the difference between these homemade flavor profiles and other casual restaurants. Our waitress Rita was the loveliest of them all. she greeted us with a heartwarming compliment, excellent recommendations and provided us 10/10 service. Chocolate cake was also imaculant, will definitely be stopping by again. read more

Coffee was brown tasteless water. The egg whites were so small....actually embarrassing. Service was ok....& the restaurant was 1/2 empty after church. Very overpriced for the food we received... I used to love the biscuits and gravy at Pipers. Something has changed. The last 3 times I have ordered it has been really bad. Today was the final straw. It is no longer good or quality. Idk what changed... read more

Wasn't impressed when the cook asked for the cheese back that he'd given me. I ordered allot of food...he gave me mozzarella cheese with my tortilla soup, when the waitress came back I asked if I could have some shredded sharp cheese, she came back and said cook wanted the other cheese back. I'm hoping he didn't give it to another customer, that is unsanitary. I think I'll only come back if I want chocolate cake or a chicken pot pie to go. The cheese situation was just too weird and the tortilla soup wasn't that good either. read more

The waitress was awesome! We are in love with the pepper jack cheese sticks! Big entres, quality food.

A really great Pulled Pork Hoegie slathered with Bbq sauce . She had a Bacon Cheeseburger was just ok . A bowl of French Onion Soup always delicious . I can no longer support the greedy owner raising prices way beyond restaurants in the area SHAMEFUL. Many dozens of complaints about high prices in the last year, just look at Google and Yelp reviews .Was charged $3 for 3 oz of Coleslaw in a 4 oz cup not filled to top OUTRAGEOUS RIP OFF. All salad's $18 plus tax, most meals over 50 percent higher than any other restaurants Downriver. How will you continue to rip your customers off, trust me they leaving you. Our very last visit ever with being overcharged for the last time. #pipersrestaurant @pipers.restaurant #pulledporksandwich #baconcheeseburger #frenchonionsoup #highprice #ripoff #neveragain #downriverfriendseat read more

WARNING: To all patriots before you decide to go and eat @ Pipers Restaurant in Flatrock. You need to know they advertise prices on their online menu but will not honor them. Tonight my daughter's family ordered food worth $36.45 but when they arrived to pick up, the bill was $61.75 she complained and they told her those were the old prices. They just haven't updated the new prices on the menu. This is considered deceptive pricing, it is in violation of the consumer protection laws. read more

Great food and service. Had a delicious lunch of French Onion Soup and Hockey Fries. My Ry had the western omelet with hashbrowns inside and toast on the side. The building itself need some care and uplift- quite noticeable and slightly disturbing from the outside. Overall quality and superb service gets an extra star. Thank you. read more

There prices online do not reflect the prices they charge when you go to collect your food in person, PLUS a convenience fee if you use a debit card... It about 40-60% higher. Their food is mediocre. For a $17 Rueben that was less than mediocre .... Online the price was posted as $7.49 it was clearly not in house made thick rye bread, and for almost $20 there was not enough meat to satisfy me for that price. It was soft and soggy after a 10 minute drive home from pick up. The kids meal came with dirty burnt fries, and the hockey fries were disgusting, it was clear the meat was bad it had ammonia aftertaste. Yuck. Won't ever be back. read more

Love their food. Always good just what we expected. Quality whether it in side dining or order out we are never disappointed!

Food is always delicious. Nice dayly specials.Pleasant wait staff. Nice environment .

Very good food with a friendly atmosphere they are always very fast and efficient with good quality food for the money

the host kyle, was very polite and welcoming and the food was great it was my first time definitely recommend the broccoli cheddar

Used to like this place, always alittle pricey, but with the new construction.... Well, just walked in there and their prices have gotten astronomical. $15.75 for a Reuben with no fries. $18.50 for a club salad. $19.00 for the fried chicken basket. $15.75 for a chicken tender dinner. Just to name a few things. Needless to say we walked right out. I will never be back. In my opinion they just priced themselves out of business. read more

Took the fam to try a different eatery. Was very happy with service and food. Waitress was attentive and courteous, only down side is sitting too close to the dish rack. Still in all a pleasant experience. A better choice for atmosphere and price than other close by venues, read more

Booths only, and they are awful. There is no wiggle room at all, so your chest is on the table, and your feet are kicking the person across from you. Makes it really hard to enjoy your breakfast. The food was ok, but they do not believe in adding much to their egg dishes. Alot of egg with minimal meat, veges, or cheese. Do NOT eat the guacamole as it has the consistency of green toothpaste. The dishes were colorful and pretty. On a positive note the service was excellent. Everyone there was kind and smiling which is an oddity lately. read more

Wonderful home taste in their food!! We ordered the tortilla soup, turkey & avocado sandwich with onion rings and a Mexican skillet with egg. The tortilla soup was the best we've ever had! Not spicy like most places and had a layer of melted cheese on top-yum!!! The turkey and avocado sandwich was huge and delicious! The onion rings were ok....nothing exciting about them. The Mexican skillet had chorizo sausage in it so it had some kick but I put sour cream on top and it was delicious!! We were talked into carrot and chocolate cake for dessert. I'm not a chocolate cake fan but oh my word!!! It's like 5 layers and so dense!! Definitely share that one!! Will be back for sure!! read more

Close your eyes. Just do it..... Now, point your finger at anything in the menu and tell your server that is what you want. You cannot make a mistake here. What a treasure Pipers is! We have been here twice, ordered breakfast the first time and dinner the next. The chicken pot pie alone is worth the drive from Ann Arbor. It is beaks and wings above anyone else's and is not hidden by disgusting ladles of gravy like at Harvest Moon in Pittsfield Township (yuk!). Restaurants like these are hard to find and impossible to forget. I only wish they were closer to Ann Arbor! We will be back to point again (with our eyes closed!). read more

I haven't been here in probably twenty years but little has changed. I had the chicken mozzarella that came over flat noodles in a bowl with really good sauce. It was a lot of food for the price but I noticed the standard 3-egg ham and cheese omelette was a whopping $13 or I would have ordered it. Can't imagine what would make it worth $3 or more above most of the other Downriver places. It what I ate was quite good and the server was friendly. read more

A little bit of redemption one year at a time. Pipers has been a staple in the Flat Rock area for as long as I can remember. After many years away, my first return back wasn't as pleasant as I remembered. With much apprehension, I came back a year later to meet up with a friend for lunch. Thankfully it was much improved in food and service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She had such an 'motherly' demeanor that it was hard to not smile. This was a total 180 from my last experience and was very satisfied. My friend and I started off with the Southwest Chicken Eggrolls to share. They had a great mixture inside for a surprising flavor. Plus it didn't hurt they were larger than your average egg roll appetizer which was nice. Going with the mexican food theme, I opted for the Southwest Chicken Salad. It is your typical Mexican salad but on a very large scale. I was surprised at the size of the meal which could be easily shared among two people. The ingredients were fresh and the chicken was grilled perfectly. Who knows... maybe on my next return in a year I will have to up the star rating once again. Thank you Pipers for the improvements! read more

The food is good but not what is advertised. I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant. It came out on regular bread. The service was very slow....the waitress kept walking past us, not even acknowledging us. Finally placed our order and had to wait a long time to receive our food and the bill. Never never received a refill on my drink after asking and no extra napkins that were requested. The bathroom is filthy. read more

Don't call it a coney island. Michigan is the land of diners and, specifically, coney islands. Piper's has the usual fare of all day breakfast and such. But, Piper's is so much more. Piper's is more of a family style restaurant. I personally thing the Meatball Stroganoff is one of the best dishes you can order at a restaurant around. It is so, so savory and comes with a little sour cream. Try it, seriously! read more

Never had a bad meal from them. The soups are all amazing, especially cheese and broccoli, and the Canadian cheddar.

Awful experience today(Mother'sDay). Never got our food even after waiting for so long. Didn't get drink refills or the water we ordered. The waitress poured hot coffee over a baby, while also pouring water from a pitcher all over the booth seat(we also got yelled at by the owner for using the word "booth") and left saying she would get us a new waitress instead of apologizing. The booster seat was broken and the owner said that she knew it was, did not offer a different one. The owner tried to charge us $54 for food we never got and was very argumentative. It was not busy, there was no reason why the people who came in after us should have recieved their food before us. The owner's reasoning for that was that those people are regulars. She yelled at us as we left too. Very unprofessional. Do Not Go Here! We went to Big Boy's instead and had wonderful service and the employees were treated great by management there too! read more

Great Place This is my third stop here. Why? 1. It's close 2. They have good food. Today I tried the 2x2x2 Breakfast. Two eggs, two pieces of meat, and two pancakes. I must admit the size was a little on the small side concerning the pancakes but it was all executed very well and the flavors were there. Eggs scrambled nicely not runny or dry, sausage appeared to be cooked ahead of time but not burnt or dried out, pancakes small but fluffy dollar size goodness. I must admit Pipers has some competitive prices now and it makes me happy to put them back in the top places to go right now. Coffee wasn't too bad either. Atmosphere Pipers is located on Telegraph between Van Horn & Vreeland Roads in Flat Rock Mi. They have plenty of booths throughout the restaurant. There is even a small bar to sit at. Plenty of windows and removable upper partitions between the booths to make room for larger groups Noise Level Very quiet only noise was conversations. There is no television. Threre used to be individual jukeboxes at each table but have been removed years ago. Meal The 2x2x2 Breakfast with Coffee $4.29 with coffee $1.99. Total cost $6.66 on Friday the 13th too lol Wheelchair Access The restaurant is at street level. Handicap parking is to the side of the restaurant but often you may get lucky and grab a parking space right in front of the door. The solid wood doors are pretty but heavier than most. There is no official handicapped seating as there are mainly booths. My Rating: 2 Star Ratings range from zero to four stars. Zero is poor, One star, good. Two stars, very good. Three stars, excellent. Four stars, extraordinary (almost impossible to achieve read more

I've been to Pipers a few times. The soups are very good! I really like the white chicken chili. I have also had the southwest chicken salad very good served with a mexi salsa ranch, a very generous portion. With that being said they are a bit pricey for the type of place they are. A family of 4 can plan on dropping at least 50 bucks. There is a saving app you can text to check in and you get 5.00 off after you've spent 50.00 kinda a buggy type app and kind of a pain but it is something.... read more

Pipers holds a special place in my heart because this is the place where Mom and I most often ate after her chemo treatments. The waitresses recognized us and asked how Mom was doing. Great local restaurant. Definitely had that homegrown feel with all the regulars and the casual service. We got a kids monster burger, which is actually huge compared to most places. It was nearly the size of the adult bacon cheeseburger we ordered. I got the chicken pot pie, LOVE the homemade crust! The chicken inside was large plump pieces. The flavor inside was a little bland, seemed like it'd be better if they incorporated celery. They gave us free fresh from the oven cookies! read more
