Family of five had lunch at I Hop only to be totally ignored by the waitress once the food was delivered. Food was as expected, but in the 45 minutes we were there never once did the employee return to our table. I tried waving her down only to be ignored! I paid $2.95 times 2 for coffee - no refills! Been to IHOPs all over the U.S. Have always had good experiences with the same thing I ordered today at this Mobile location: ordered a veggie egg white omelet with sautéed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and with avocado slices on top. First, there were no avacadoes. Asked the server about this; she said "Oh--we're out of them." Second,the "omelet" (and I use that word loosely) was consisted of grease-soaked, burned fried egg white, folded over with one cherry tomato cut in half (also soaked in grease), and some spinach and mushrooms (you guessed it, soaked in grease). Our server was a sweetheart. He was slammed but he did a good job. He had a wonderful attitude and he blew me away not having to write orders down. The bacon egg cheese biscuit was not good to me because it had liquid cheese and I hate that. It wasn't in the description so I didn't know. I think they should tell that information. I had chicken & waffles, best I've ever had! Hate soggy waffles/ these were the perfect outside crisp. Hate a dry tender/these were perfectly spiced and fried yet still tender and juicy inside. Service was average, no one acted Happy to be there, yet one was efficient. It's fast food , meant to get you in and out relatively quickly with the best food possible, ( which again was Really great!) always busy so I'd say as clean as possible right after lunch! read more

Pretty good place, the dining room is small and the tables full, but the waitresses hustle, keep the crowd moving. My husband and I tried the Spicy Poblano Omelet, not bad, but we will try something else next time. I was a little disappointed in the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Protein Pancakes, the pancakes are good, but not enough of the fruit, a little dry, so I just doused the pancakes in syrup to make up for it, and that helped. They took more than 25 minutes after my pickup time for me to prepare my order even though I hit the "I'm on my way" and "I'm here" buttons at the right times. It took them ten minutes to make my milkshake, I thought a pickup order would make things faster but I might've well placed my order once I got to the restaurant. We ate at lunchtime on Monday, so the place was crowded. However, we were seated almost immediately, they had adequate staff to seat people, get orders, serve food, bus tables... very professional. My friend ordered a Colorado breakfast, which is some kind of huge omelette plus pancakes, and I ordered some fruit crepes. I wasn't as thrilled as I wanted to be. I think they were made correctly, just not using the high quality ingredients that higher end restaurants would use. The resulting textures are kind of sad. I won't order that again. I've always been happy with the quality of the omelettes at IHOP, I think they toss a little batter in the eggs for fluffiness (is that a word, well, you know what I mean), and the results are fine. My friend was happy with his Colorado... Our server is a real professional with good service experience that shows. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Really disappointing. Ordered eggs and bacon with toast. Eggs were overdone, bacon wasn't even close to crispy and I had Meade a point of asking for extra crispy. Sent back and the waitress popped it in the microwave just long enough to make it both soggy and tough. Everything was cold and the roar wouldn't even melt the butter. Even though the parking lot was overflowing, we were seated within 5 min of entering the restaurant. Of course, it was a little bit of a madhouse, as is customary for IHOP on a Sat. Morning. If you want a filling breakfast, IHOP can't be beaten for value. The particular restaurant has increased its cleanliness, service and food quality in the last few years. It was hopping in the late 1980s and '90s. Then, it went through a period of lackluster, below par cleanliness, food quality and service. It was during that subpar period that the building burned to the ground. Because this restaurant is a Mobile staple, Thank goodness it was rebuilt. Using the original floorplan with a small room attached in the back for group events, the IHOP was built in the very same location and in the same style as the original building. I always enjoy an omelet with the "healthy" option harvest-grain nut pancakes when I visit Mobile. Maybe I am biased, but it seems that the food at other IHOPs in other cities does not taste as good as the food served at this location. read more

Usually have a good experience here. My wife and I were there last night (12/28/2022). I ordered T-bone & eggs, side of toast. Our food was delivered and looked great. Waitress said "I'll be right back with your toast." She then dissappears for 10-15 minutes. One of the other waitresses even asked the cook "Where did 'B' go?" His answer? "How should I know?" I never received my toast (can't eat my eggs without toast), and could not ask for a steak knife or steak sauce. My wife had finished by the time she showed back up and my food was cold and untouched. She the claimed that she 'hadn't been gone that long'. Came in for a quick bite to eat mid week. Felt like breakfast so my hubby and son stopped in. Great time parking lot was empty. Walked right in and enjoyed the harvest grain pancake only, hubby ordered the steak omelette with stake, son order cupcake pancake combo with Turkey bacon and cheese scrambled eggs. This IHOP is fantastic, I'm not normally over this way for breakfast but was recently and gave it a shot. We waited 15 minutes for a table, which was exactly what we were quoted. The waiting area is a little small but it doesn't seem that people are there they long. We were seated and began perusing their very big menu. Traditional breakfast offerings, to crepes, to burgers. It's all yours at the International House of Pancakes. I settled on coffee which was awesome, and the traditional pancake breakfast. Two scrambled eggs, hash browns, plain buttermilk pancakes, and extra crispy bacon. A note on the bacon, it rocked, super crispy and not burned it was really good. She got a pancake breakfast as well with chocolate milk, chocolate pancakes with whipped cream, sausage, eggs and hash browns. The check was less than 25 bucks, the food was hot and delicious, and the service was really good. We even said, wow they are super friendly in here! Finally ate at this IHOP location - note that it is tiny inside, but the friendliness of the staff makes up for the lack of space. Meredith was our waitress and she was such a sweetie. It might have been because I had National Pancake Day on my mind, probably my favorite holiday of the year, so that when I passed by this humble IHOP on Airport Blvd it proved too much to resist. Perhaps I should have had stronger willpower, but I'll get to that. This is one of the smaller IHOPs, with a small seating area in the front and a few along the side in the back. The lanes were made just a little too small (like the infamous Geico commercial): they only allow one and a half people along the aisles. When two people try to pass, they bump the customers in the adjacent booths. For example, I was made aware of this while taking a sip of coffee. The kitchen is set up so that it is open facing the doorway and tables: you can watch and listen to the servers giving and receiving orders from the cook. It has a little bit of the feel of an old school diner as opposed to the homogenous IHOP that you might run into in a mall (which can feel more like an office). However, on this day, you could hear the servers and cooks engaged in repeated shouting matches over orders done incorrectly. I'm going to have to go with the servers in this argument. I'd ordered the country omelet with pancakes and the pancakes came out thin and sort of crunchy. I considered crunchy pancakes sort of a novelty, just not of the good kind. The country omelet came without sour cream which my server caught and brought me a tub of it after she had delivered the meal. Which brings me to the Law of Sour Cream. Sour cream and it's ingredient cousins are things that you can see on a menu, order, and have stuffed in a meal. You may even enjoy the taste of it and not even really have to think about it. But when you have a tub of sour cream placed in front of you, suddenly you have to face exactly what you're putting in your meal: something that looks like a glop of gooey lard. Inevitably, this will lead you to putting far less or even none of the substance in your meal. I passed on this occasion. My server at this location was great: frequently came by to update on the status of my order and caught the absence of sour cream in my omelet. She moved around with a kind of benign weariness that seemed appropriate for the din of the restaurant. I considered the effect of working decades in this establishment, decided to double my tip, and left. read more

My boyfriend and I go to this location fairly frequently, probably at most 3-4 times a month to once a month. We've always gone late at night as we both tend to work till midnight. It's always the 2 older ladies and sometimes some other servers but my 2 favorite ones are those 2 little old biddies. xD Anyways, the food is usually good, what one would expect from an IHOP. I usually get the beef tips and as long as I order it medium (b/c it usually comes out mid well), it's enjoyable. It's a good place to go when Waffle House just won't cut it b/c frankly pancakes and waffles are not the same thing. ;) read more
