Amazing food and service! Very chill atmosphere. When going to the restroom we ventured off and explored the most gorgeous hotel I have ever seen.

A Thursday night and it appears they were way short handed. See my last review. The waitresses were running but in the weeds all night. We only had and apppetizer and beer wine and we were there 90 minutes. Not a stellar visit.

The staff here hustle during MardiGras I had a turkey club and hurricane, people watching waiting for friends. Super nice group and servers... great place to relax right on parade route A. My drink and sandwich were delicious! Pizza next time with a group because they were huge but looked super yummy! Tables turned over so pack your patience and vigilance lol in this party atmosphere!

A cafe located adjacent to the hotel and we were here twice, once for drinks and once for dinner. It's serviceable for both but it's not what I would call a solid choice for "date night". Mostly it's a place where you just want to get something in you thats not too far above the usual bar food. Service was good enough.

The food is decent if you are looking for something quick. I ordered a small pizza for my kids, and it was pretty good. I got the shaved prime rib, and it had a good flavor but was messy and not very warm. I got the pasta salad as my side, and I really liked that. My friend got the Turkey club, and it was mediocre at best. The server was very straight forward, which I appreciate; however, there were several parts of our order was messed up. We almost did not eat there because the menu is very small, and we watched as several people came in order drinks or nothing, then left. I think it would be a fun place to have a few drinks and hang out.

Walking in one sees a very pretty bar. Service was friendly but this place has the feel of a fast food quick turnaround place. We ordered pizza. Took a long time and we soon realized why that was the case. Though the cheese was melted and there was appropriate charring of the crust, the pizza was not hot. It was just above lukewarm/room temperature. Heat lamps could help to keep food warm while the food is waiting to be served. Flavor was good but would have improved with warmer temperature.

My first visit to Joe Cain Cafe wasn't the greatest, but thankfully my second visit offered redemption. I usually (and randomly) find myself at The Battle House in need of late night bites. Joe Cain saves the day, but I wish they offered better (or craftier) drinks. The staff is friendly and quick to expedite orders. The prices are great! The pizza is friggin' delicious, and the hummus is divine. I wasn't a fan of the club sandwich, but overall, Joe Cain Cafe is a solid 3.5.

This local pub in the Battle House hotel offers great service and excellent mixed drinks. Not sure about the food. Cool atmosphere.

The pizza is what to get here. Everything else we have tried is hit or miss. Service is pretty quick for lunch rush.

Too many places on the gulf coast are trashy dive bars. Nice to see a place that's holding the line. I will start with Rosie to doorman. What a fun guy and a huge personality. Just love chatting with him. He looks you over to make sure you don't look like a slob. You give him the password, and he opens the hidden door. Inside is nicely decorated with old bank vault doors still in place. Pretty cool. But the TVs on every wall and behind the bar upset the ambiance. Goes quickly from "speakeasy" to "sports bar." Hated that. Service was good and everyone was very friendly. Drinks were fine. Maybe a little on the sweet side. Should have asked more questions and ensured mine was made more dry. Food though.... Not good. I don't have a high standard for Latino food - I generally like it all. But the croquettes were lukewarm and mealy (probably made from frozen?). The plantain chips that came with the black bean dip were strangely small - as in dime-sized which made eating the dip messy. They might have come from a bad but just the crumbs at the bottom of the bag. The ceviche was just OK. So... great concept. Not executed particularly well. Probably better cocktails in downtown Mobile. Food needs a lot of work. Hated the TVs on the walls - ruined the speakeasy feel and took me straight to "sports bar." 2 stars bc there's potential here. Will watch reviews to see if it's improving and worth revisiting.
