This IHOP was very clean and well maintained (could even look like it was new). It opens at 7am; went here ~730am and it was not busy. Our server Cheryl who was also the shift leader was the only person there at that time. Service was very good and quick. She took good care of us. The T bone steak with eggs was good. Upgraded the pancakes that came with it to protein pack pancakes which were very nice. I expected them to be dry because of being protein packed but they were soft and fluffy, and did not taste differently. Enjoyed our breakfast here and received really good service. read more

We are on our Rhode island trip and - day came here for breakfast.It wasn't that bz.We were seated with no wait.There were 5 of us.Its my 1st time at this location.I could tell it was an older IHop.The floors were worn down,The tables were old. Held up by card board and duck tape the ceiling had sign's of water damage and it looked like they were doing construction.Other the that the food was good!..I had the Big beef omelette.It was filling and so good!.My girlfriend had the Sirloin beef tips and egg.She loved it.The beef was tender and flavorful.The rest of our party enjoyed their food as well!.The service was excellent!!.She did a great job!..I didn't catch her name but her hair was colored red..Next time when we are back here on Rhode Island we are definitely stopping by.. read more

I haven't been to an IHOP in many years but if the other locations are anything like this one, I will definitely be going again. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite. From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome. They were incredibly quick to our table to take our order There were lots of great choices on the menu. We tried everything from the avocado toast to the eggs, waffles and the pancakes. We had a large group so we tried many different options on the menu. Everything we received was delicious. We came here on Father's Day around lunch time and were seated right away even though they were very busy. The place is so clean and staff were nice. The food was so great. Not my usual restaurant review- I generally gravitate towards the small, non chain, local businesses, but I recommend this IHOP all day long based on the customer service provided today! I treated the kids after Church today (IHOP was their choice) and we really enjoyed our lunch. I had a made to order omelet and when it didn't come out correctly, the waitress gladly had the kitchen remake it. It was hot off the griddle and delicious. (I know, I know- who goes to IHOP for an omelet). The waitress was super sweet and patient. I think this was the best IHOP we have ever been too. Food was surprisingly good and service was warm and friendly. We had the veggie omelette and it was filled with tons of fresh and yummy spinach, mushroom and onions. They also run a special right now with all you can eat pancake with any omelette order and we definitely took advantage of that. Also had the burger melt and that was also excellent and delicious. So small, too dark, mediocre service. With few options for late night eats in this portion of Middletown, I found myself here at 1 am on a Saturday night. After a long theater performance and my belly a'grumblin'. . . a large plate of breakfast food became #1 priority. We were seated quickly, considering the hour, few people were actually there. Except for the corner of high school prom princesses and dates. . . the restaurant was relatively empty. Having walked through what seemed to be a portion of the kitchen we were seated, thankfully as far away as possible from the shrill laughter and camera flashes coming from the masquerade of young adults. Not much to say about the food. IHOP food is standard across most locations, with little variation. I understand that the hour was late, but did lighting have to match the time? I would have felt better about actually seeing the food I was eating. . . And I can understand the zombie staff lurking around in the wee hours. We were served by a young man named Stephen and he was great- smiling, super friendly, and asking the young kids at booths around me how their Christmas was. The food was your typical ihop food. Reasonably priced and yummy. My boyfriend found a hair on his waffles and didn't finish his meal because of it- but things like that just happen. The worst part of this dining experience was the manager. She was y'all and had blonde hair and was stomping around near the customers really loudly saying that she wants to quit and complaining about the job. I was several feet away from her so if I heard her then other customers definitely did as well. Hope this was a one time thing and not how she usually behaves because I find ihop to be a reliable place for breakfast and would love to come back and have the managerial staff be pleasant. read more

Waitress was friendly but it did not take away from the incredible wait time and poor conditions. I came in a party of four and after seated we had ordered 4 omelettes. We had waited for almost an hour for our food and had not once filled up our water in the meantime, one of which had a small piece of food in it. For the overwhelming number of employees I figured that 4 omelettes would be carried out in no time. When we finally did get our food we were disappointed. Some of the cheese wasn't fully melted. It wasn't bad but a home cooked omelette would've been just as good except I wouldn't have had to wait an hour for it. Definitely nothing I would go out of the way to get. Other than that it is lacking in typical cleaning standards. Where we sat was by the window and the window sill was incredibly dirty. This has been my first time coming to this IHOP and the bathroom was gross. The waiter took forever to bring our food, the check, syrup, and to refill our drinks. A couple times, I noticed she was sitting in a booth. We had to physically walk up to her to ask for syrup and a refill. I know this place, I have been here countless times. The pancakes are great, dripping with artery clogging fat and sugar. Sure I have had some blueberry pancakes in Maine that were better, but Maine is a long ways away. This is as good as it gets around here. The service is always good and the people that work here are genuinely nice. The only problem with this IHOP is that it is small! That means at certain times I have to wait and I don't like to wait. Plus the inside is cramped and crowded so it's hard to spread out and enjoy your gluttony. It's a IHOP and therefore it's great but I wish it was a little bit bigger. It is the very oldest IHOP in all of New England so you are enjoying your pancakes in a historical building. That makes it even cooler. read more
